I think it’s interesting that in all her friendships LJJ has at some point time been the one to protect and stand up for her friends. This includes her brothers. She can be childish but it’s fairly superficial. Innately she is very wise. Probably because her dad is very wise and she was raised surrounded by love.

Emotions even for mature adults can be very complicated. They can love her and still be very jealous of her. Both girls are suffering from jealousy.

I think everyone around LJJ feels safe around her. They know her love is unconditional so they can be themselves around her. It bugged me too how her friends kept blaming her but I’ve watched this a few times and I think because they can’t express themselves to the people they are really mad at, they express it to LJJ.

There are several ways to interpret this, but the fact is LX is not comfortable with JJ, a teenage girl in his bed.

Once she said it smelled like him, it's the kind of thing lovers say. Like a mating ritual.
Or more innocently, she just noticed his scent (shampoo, soap etc) it was just an observation, but for LX he read it as she should not be in a man's bed. And for him she should not be noticing a man's scent.

LJJ is LX whole word, even his dads can't compete.

I think LX loves his younger sister too, and his crazy mom. That's why she can hurt him so much. But you're probably right, we don't really know what happened in those 9 years. In any case she clearly loves her brother.

I also think that there is some heavy drama when he went to Singapore that hasn't aired and it was very hard for him to come back. When he returned it looked like he had been through hell. I imagined he really missed her and was feeling a lot of anxiety and needed his medicine.

He is aggressive, but he did give her subtle hints for most of their relationship, so he probably feels like it's time to be more direct.

I feel bad for LX because it seems like he's a real loner. His only friends are JJ and ZQ. MQ is his friend, but she was mostly just a gateway to JJ.

ZQ isn't much better, he has his lawyer friend (who mostly gives bad advice) ZB.

It seems for the both of them without JJ they don't seem to have any happiness. Whereas JJ has a community of caring people; her dads, her girlfriends, coworkers, even her boyfriend/ex-boyfriend.

Ling Ba brings it up first in ep. 13 (iQIYI) when the fathers are together. Li Ba is mopping the restaurant floor. Li Ba, doesn't say much other than Ling Ba is getting into matchmaking. I guess you could argue he didn't take it seriously.

The second time it comes up is when the aunties (the old matchmaker and her friend) shows up at the restaurant in ep. 14 (iQIYI). Ling Xiao is eating with his dad and they make small talk. This time it's matchmaker auntie who brings it up. She says you have to handsome 'sons' here. You should marry one of them to JJ. This is when LX speaks up and says 'I will try'. Everyone smiles at the statement.

Rewatching the scenes, I thing Li Ba is probably not taking it seriously because it was egged on by the elders. Whereas with ZQ he went directly to ask Li Ba.

Did anyone think Li Ba was more uncomfortable with the idea ZQ being his son-in-law than LX? I think in Li Ba heart ZQ is his son. I mention this because Ling Ba mention marrying LX and LJJ earlier and there seemed to be less tension.

I don't speak chinese but I died laughing at JJ's dialogue. You can just feel her frustration at these 'brothers'.

I just remembered Ling Xiao has been suffering from nightmares since his sister died. His mom and sister must have made things worse. My hope is he forgives himself for his sister's death, and can stick up to his mom and sister.

9 years is enough of a sacrifice. My bet is that Jing Jing will help him heal.

He Zi Qiu I think needs to feel safe. It was heartbreaking when he ask Jing Jing to not abandon him. She was mean thou (understandably) and told him to go back to his family.

I am impressed how relatable this show is. It's thoughtful and thought provoking. I'm older so I can relate to both the kids, teens and adults. It hits all the emotions.

I'm worried about his financial situation too. He Zi Qiu is spending like a rich man but acting like a poor one. Also how long as he even been back in China? At least his mom isn't going to try and use him. She was different when she came back to return Li Ba's money. Plus there are spoilers about her and Li Ba.

Everyone is worried about the love triangle and I'm worried about the deadbeat parents returning. Every time Ling Xiao's mom or sister calls I cringe. And we don't even know yet what is going on with He Zi Qiu. Like what happened to him in England.

We already know Ling Xiao has suffered a lot in 9 years.
