The series is not finished, they are working on the third and final season. I liked it, but I think it's because I know the book so I understood the TV show as well. I also had info on the way the series was filmed and so I was very pacient with it.

In theory she does, in practoce she is useless all series, I am at episode 43 and I still feel I want to slap her.
I needed to write a full comment above on how bad the character is.

This series is annoying because of the main girl's character.... horrible writen character. The actress is a good but the re given to her is so annoying.
She is stupid and ruins the efforts of every other character, she does not trust anyone because everythine something happens she accuses first and does not ask questions. Then is she is kept in the dark she complains about others not trusting her ( yes, she does not deserve trust).
She can't think ahead, she is emotional, impulsive and a bit selfish.

Yes, they don't have problem with each other, just everyone else apparently over reacted around them... so dumb...

Don't know when it will be lifted, they just put it in place recently, and it looks like it will stay in place for a long time because now there is a wave going on in China against "pretty boys", apparently some people already changed they look to being more scruffy and "manly" and they literally banned danmei because the government wants "manly men" and they are against good looking pretty men... (insert facepalm)n and they literally push people around on the "look" that is accepted on tv? It's absurd.

It drags so much because the story is that way, basically, this is based on a book... and for some strange reason, they made a script (full script) and then decided to divide the script in to 3 parts and make 3 seasons. The first season is the intro, the second season is - the middle of the story (winch in the book is a huge huge part of them being on the run -on the road), also the story itself in the book takes place in a span of a few years, it's long and the third season is the ending. Because of this and 2 years gap between seasons, the story pacing seems strange, there is no continuity and people tend to not understand the character development or the reasons for their change.
Like the main character's "personality" change, which is more like character development.
For example the First season he looks stronger because he is against weaker characters, in the second season he seems weaker because he is against god-like characters.
or the first season he seems confident and quite arrogant, in the second season he is more guarded and afraid... because he learned what it means to lose something/someone you care about, the stakes are higher.
If people would have read the book they would have understood better the series and why the changes, but a lot of people did not know. Also from the book, I would say this story is a Xuanhuan, but in the series, they cut out that part (the male lead has memories of a different life he lived, while in the series the story is a Xianxia).

I liked ever night but the project was too complicated and crazy they decided to make 1 book story in e season, so ever night 3 will be out as well... but the way they made the script is dumb... they made season 1 as story introduction, season 2 as middle of the story (which in the book is the part where they are on the road, and on the run) and then second season as the ending of the story... They had the full script for 3 seasons done from the start but then they cut it in 3... People were confused and without the book people did not understand the idea of the show too well and how the story was told, they fed up they way they transitioned the story to the little screen. Then a lot of time for the character development people did not understand the complex way they were build or the reasons why they changed because there was a huge gap between seasons, and continuity. There were some charters built in antitheses, to emphasize certain things of importance... and because this was such a huge project with actors having conflicting schedules, and some problems in approvals and stuff... second season and obviously third season is just dragged out 1018-2020-2023?

In 2018 when it came out no one had problems with the cast, as I remember the first reason the main actor did not do want to do the second season was some conflicting schedule of a movie and study time, he was still learning in that period of time. He also suggested the next actor that should take his role.
The big issue people had with this project was not the actors, but the story itself and the changes made, also in that period of time this project was not that well known internationally compared to The Untamed, after Untamed international fans and Chinese dramas became more global, this series did not get enough support from international people.
People were angry in China with character changes compared to the original source, I have to say some of them bothered me as well because they were literally changing the essence of the characters and their personalities...
Also, I think I saw they wanted to make a full movie to come out in 2022 with the same story, different actors, and so on.

they finished filming but the projects are just siting on the shelf... when I waited for The Wolf, it took 3 years for it to air, then when it aired I realized that they changed the project compared to the original trailer.

well, they banned again any bl or danmei genre...

well you know that they banned any danmei or bl in China again.... so who know when any similar show will be out, maybe never....

Lol I guess people thought everyone knew abut it. This series was actually filmed in 2017 and the trailer was out, but the show never aired. In the original version our main lead guy was a werewolf and this series had a dark tone to it even the soundtrack was different.
But in 2020 they finally announced they will air it, for 3 years people have been waiting for this series, and then it aired, we noticed that the content and the sinopsis was a bit different but still we wanted so much this series because of the talented actors.
In the original Xiao Zhan was a suport role but in this version he is a main role, also every supernatural/demonic element was eliminated. In 2017 the main trailer also made me think of the "Red riding-hood because it kept emphasizing a wolf, a hunter and the girl dressed in a red riding hood. in a forest in winter time (all snowy).
Also the script writer said that now she wishes to change the ending, but it's out already so it's impossible :)

I think they wanted to show the importance of communication, even if they were on opposing ends if both of them could listen things would work out. I thought Vic was a bit more mature and was willing to try while Xiang was more rebellious and headstrong, so it would take him more time to get some perspective or have patients.
In situations like these, the relationship crumbles or they fight for it and with effort, they can stay together.

Is this Wuxia? Don't think so... Wuxia is the story of a mortal hero, a lot of time having to do with martial arts or military, but is not that much based on fantasy like xianxia so it does not have elements of demons and multiple worlds.
I thought of this as Xianxia because it has the specific elements of fantasy and apparently the multiple worlds, such as the human world and demon world and it is fantasy, but in the end, I think it's Xuanhuan because it has more modern elements and it also has western influence and time traveling and stuff like that.

They can be made in China but not by Chinese productions... so Netflix can jump in :)

Also I know this project was filmed at least partially in Korea but I don't know if it was actually Korean Production as registered here.

True more Asian countries are missing, I wanted to add a Vietnamese movie called Goodbye Mother and I could not add it as well.
