Yes, cant wait for the next season of Arthdal, I remember enjoying the first sooo much! It really reminded me of GoT

Unfortunately, its very rare for cdramas to get that complex...I dont know why, its just, rare to have something that frees itself from traditional plotlines. Even a drama as great as RoP, in the end....they just didnt dare to reach for greatness:) not to mention censorship, which I think should be criminalised at this point but its a government thing so impossible if people(there) continue to agree with it

I think in HOTD it would be even more apparent

If you liked GOT I think you would enjoy a show like HOTD
And when you see Daemon appearing on screen (especially some scenes) and hear him you would be like "wait, you have a Chinese version!" 😅

Haha yes but honestly, from the moment I saw and mostly heard Xiang Liu talking in this drama I was like "wait a minute, you have a British counterpart, wait ..definitely there was a British version of you that sounds exactly like you and even has your vibe and expressions and I know he is someone famous lol" I am at episode 38 now and finally I came up with the name. I played a Matt Smith interview just to make sure and boom - goosebumps

Literally , just go and play a random Youtube interview of Matt Smith, he and Tan Jian Ci sound the same, I dont even hear a difference!
They even behave in a similar manner. The expressions of Daemon for example are the same like Xiang Liu, so much like each other, down to the way they position their bodies(here talking about the shows)
I could swear they are biological brothers if I didnt know their nationalities

Omg!! I was TRYING so hard to think of who exactly Xiang Liu the character but even more so Tan Jian Ci in this particular role reminded me of!! Like the voice, the presence, the aura and finally I remembered - he is soooo similar to Matt Smith and I cant unsee it!!

Their voices are soooo alike! And the way he looks here is even similar to the way Matt Smith looks like in House of The Dragon. Not just similar...omg, its almost uncanny - in their expressions, the eyes, the aura! Even their characters in both shows have so much on common(not so much story-wise but in general yes)Finally, I connected the pieces!

But even going by just the voice, if I didnt hear Chinese I would think this is Matth Smith speaking- the tone and intonation are practically the same. Im having a revelation here and if you say its just me, yall are lying 😀 If you have watched House of The Dragon and know Daemon Targaryen you would know what I mean! Both the characters are similar, and the way the actors play them too. In a strange way they even manage to look alike - the devilish way they smile, the face expressions, the scoffs...so many things!

P.S. Not that its important but literally the color of Daemon's and Xiang Liu's hair. They are both silver haired hah

The way she appeared on the boat, being overly dramatic even when just standing and going somewhere...or more like, not braking her exotic character act lol girl is committed
And when she started speaking normally to Zi Yu but quickly remembered the presence of the healer guy,that she's supposed to seduce him , and changed her voice to a higher pitch midsentence....ahahahaha
How she is ready to absolutely finish his other two brothers if need be, she doesnt budge for nobody. I cant, I love her 😭

Xiaoyaoooooo...I knew it would be written that way! She just survived thanks to the sacrifice of XL and she goes to TSJ and says "You gave your life for mine" but who was the other man who did that? Who really saved you instead of choosing to give up...ugh...and then she hears he had a condition for saving her and she immediately is like "oh, of course,thats who he is"...giiiirl
I mean, its the story, I know, but I had to endure the boring parts of her and TSJ just for a few meaningful moments with XL and now she is back to being the mother of TSJ be ause thats the vibe Im getting from them two...she has to take care of her child while the other men give stellar performances(the burden of being talented I guess lol). Im not a fan of the plot at all times but the acting is very good (his last look to her when she left the pearl...replayed it several times already.

When there is a sort of tragedy and complexity in the story and the character, its really interesting to watch and easy to feel the emotions. There is complexity in the character of CX too which I like

On ep. 27...Started this drama absolutely not expecting anything, Im not even Yang Zi fan but have to admit its a different type of story and it does very well on the relationship part . The emotions are very real too, its fantasy but its well acted and original, as if its an older drama, it misses the cliche acting of today.
I didnt know what to expect from reverse harem tag , I thought however I would definitely be rooting for the most sensible man and really liked TSJ in the beginning but....he lost his spark as the story went on, I personally dont feel chemistry and alao dont think their relationship anymore healthy than with the other guys. He should really learn to be a man and step up and do his part, they are behaving like nothing more than BFFS, like children "in love".
I also thought I would surely not support XL but...here we are :) and its totally the actor that made the character captivating and intriguing. He has amazing and powerful presence, shows vulnerability and longing with the eyes(also many other emotions), is expressive yet restrained. Feels very real yet is the typical supernatural ML thats above anyone and is not of this world. I wish they show more of his story and allow for more interactions between him and FL. It's just so interesting and conveys so much, I personally dont find the same effect from the other guys but they are all different and play different roles in her life, although they all pine for her lol

Cang Xuan I still can't really like or dislike, that's not whats important, I just appreciate the actor giving another good performance and am interested to know where his longing for his "sister" would lead him to and where bis path will end(although I think I know)
I read the tragic spoiler about XL, wish it wouldnt happen,it would be very hard to watch my favourite character go , I wish he could continue his own story

I really like the story behind, it's an interesting one that could have potential for an epic drama. But sometimes the plot really drags with dialogues repeating...like all the monologues the sister of the prince gives with that straight face of hers. At this point, what she is hiding from the past is irrelevant for me, I donr care anymore - the build up was too over-the-top dramatic and I roll eyew whenever she tries to express emotion.
I like Dilraba portrayal of Anle and thought that for me personally, the story would be just so much better if she really had only that identity and not Di Ziyan - the girl from childhood (ugh, hate childhood stories). Like , for once the leads could cboose themselves without a first meeting when they were in their mothers' wombs. She would be so much more unique individual and more special as Anle with more original story not tied to the past and dead people she doesnt remember clearly. Anyways...revenge plot has to be done....I hope I can watch it to the end to see how it goes but there js somrthing that prevents me...
The story is dragging and the ML is too boring of a character. I cant watch him open his mouth in disbelief in every episode 😭 please , be interesring and alive for once! Honestly, wpuld be better here with no romance as there is not chemistry anyway

Youre being rude and all the personal things you wrote under my impersonal comment, seem to talk more about who's written them than anyone else.

Is a person responsible for his eventual actions or is it other people's influence the complete reason - is it always something else outside you ? If a person is hurt or damaged does he)she always turn a monster and what about those that were also abused but didnt become "monsters" ?
Someday he can have victims that are innocent but they are also part of society - does that make them responsible for what happened to them if society can be a direct perpetrator(like the world, "everyone else" and so on..)?
Is it just easier to blame the world for what you're feeling instead of looking for healing within your capabilities?

Finding peace is always the most difficult and takes more strength and self-reflection, uncontrolled anger is the first response and can destroy even the good you managed to build. If you become the monster you always hated - would you feel bad or good and which is understandable? And so what if you know part of the reason why someone is the way he/she is - aren't actions more important and showing? Can you change them? I doubt even FL can, no one can change anyone - at the end of the day the final personal decision says the most about who you are and is the biggest reason for all your present and future actions . Its almost always the will and if there is a will, there is a way - and this can take massive strength and emotional intelligence to grasp and follow but is nevertheless a basic human credo to live by

Good thing this is a drama so everyone can close eyes on the red flags :). And i wish we all could refrain from becoming emotional about some things and judge only wether it's interesting plot or not - honestly, the best scenario

Because I never mentioned him being born evil or me having problems with it. I was not even talking about the character specifically, my reply was more about the thinking that being overly violent is ok because others were violent to you too and that's an excuse that criminals use to evade responsibility and win the pity of people, generally. Here it has not happened...yet, at least but the ML indeed has violent TENdENcIes and is not behaving in a normal way (I mean, he might have a reason for it but like, when he starts having victims ...his" reasons" wont be any excuse)
I can see on my own that his behaviour is often delusional, paranoic and yes, aggressive in some instances- I dont need the drama or FL to frame something that is evident. Hes not a "bad person" but hes also not exempt from moral judgement or responsibility for his actions.

Hes not evil because hes born with a curse(the curse doesnt even concern me) but hes also not good and always justified be ause he was born in a bad environment.

While I understand so many people here completely taking his side, I dont find logic nor complete justification in that kind of thinking and blind support. He was done wrong and was abandoned so he has the right to hurt others and do the same? Suffering in life gives you the right for violence and revenge? This sounds wild, to me at least
For now I dont remember him taking it on someone innocent but he is showing violent tendencies and suffering and understanding where he is supposedly coming from...is not enough of an excuse and does not give him the right on anything other than self-defence (but nit killing someone although in this imaginary world they kill with no qualms hah).

Violence is violence. He deserves his right of a normal human being life and to defend himself ofc but I wouldn't go as far as to say everything he does is ok and understandable. I never took his side fully, nor I pity him too much. Abuse doesnt give the free pass to being an abuser. I know he is to become one though but its a drama so it better be interesting
