I can see that another user started this whole thing when they tried to discredit what the first user had to say and make it look like they didn't understand the drama in a condescending and disrespectful way. Such a reply is definitely not an invitation for a proper discussion

MDL has disappointed me so many times with how the users turn a blind eye to so many things in order to show love and made their favourites more popular. The childish replies are always so funny and the strangest thinf is they get a lot of support.

I always give critism in almost any show I watch, even if I love it! Its my specialty and I will never not say something or just "move on" to another drama and be silenced by other users. Their favourite reply is "What did you expect?" "You don't understand..." And start giving baseless reasons that I rather dont loose time reading.

It's so rare that there are vocal people that can actually discuss even the bad sides to something. People just ignore even if they agree with them and in turn those users are bombarded with only hate and being gaslighted that he/she is actually the "hater" to their favourite show.

maturity and good manners are missing in this forum and I will make a point to myself that when I see some mad or unreasonable fans attacking someone who critiques the drama in full right, I will go there to support their right to a voice be ause most of the times only thise criticisms contain the truth about the show and that its far from perfect piece of TV masterpiece lol

This started so promising but ML's actor somehow exhausted his acting capacity a few eps in. He has the same face for every dofferent emotion and even if we agree he is supposed to be an angry spirit in the present - well, in the past, in those emotional and subtle scenes he has the same face. Past episode had good past scenes but something from.him was missing. And that same phrase "KYW, who are youuu?"

The strange thing is that I really dont like the FL 's acting on the present - she is constantly shocked and with wide eyes opened but she's better in the past scenes - she shows acting there and is actually playing her character.

I prefer the past scenes because the present bring alnost nothing new or interesting, rather they're loosing plot logic and become repetitive. Let's see what comes next. Wish ML was another actor that. Could show more with his face because there were many good opportunities here where acring could have elevated the meaning and feeling to the scene so much more

Why would she suspend critical thinking skills just be ause it's fantasy? Fantasy doesnt mean absurdity, every plot depends on world building and I mist say fantasy even more so needs a solid base and logic to work so people can believe it and see what the aithor meant.

Harry Potter is so vastly different , no need at all for comparison. But since you did, Harry Potter had a very well made world building done when the most "absurd" magical thing had logic in that particular universe.
What O think @Coolforthesummer here commented is that plot narrative looses its own logic that it presented in the first episodes and contradicts itself which has nothing to do with fantasy but bad writing .

Yeah YL is definitely more believable to be 18, actir has that baby face and aura

Bai Lu ofc looks young, she is very pretty, but she is a whole woman and even with her past memories is acting like someone in second half of twenties, too mature even for first half haha. Strange they decided to go with book ages but guess they meant it rhat way...

Ok...But I thought when she returned to this life it was a very early stage of her path... i dont know anymore, I was quite sure that she was 18-year old girl when she came with XW to the capital and 4 years later she is 22 and everything comes after that.

Because if she was 14(I guess but not sure...) when she met him for the first time...oh my, that child really fed a 22-yeae old guy her blood, a little bit of ew :)

But she was 18 when she was saving XW 4 years ago (when they first met in those snowy caves). Imagine she is 18 now and 4 years ago she was 14?!?! No way, think that would be wild and unbelievable to even act out haha
And 4 years after that case she would be 22.
But also, the way she acts and simply looks is definitely not like an 18 year old, that's too young and she is no teenager, and I dont see Bai Lu pmaying a teenager. 22 is also very young

Yes, XW is a lot more interesting to watch and is the more original character. ZZ is a prototype of the typical 2ML in all aspects

This drama is made in a simplistic way even though it has a good premise, its not consistent with how it delivers. I wouldn't even bother expressing this opinion if I didnt wait for it for a long time, co stantly wondering how it would furn out , expecting much from it if I have to admit. I always criticise things I care about, although it's a little bit kf a atrong word but yeah. This it has its shortcomings for now, if you think it's perfect that's fine I guess, we have our opinions

Must admit Im not a fan of everything in this drama. It's quite censored and sometimes simplistic, too black and white maybe. There are scenes that are repetitive (walking and talking and stralling gardens and explaining thoughts out loud), while others are so dragged and even childish (particularly those with the uncle ans XW, omg the overly dramatic, emotional music thats supposed to break your heart. They even use wind and dramatic turns with deep gazes, like pleeeease, this is not an Indian soap opera😀..I don't know, didnt like how that and other things were directed)

And in the scenes of rhe cerenony, ooh the cartoonish and slow reactions of the guy with the edict(Xue uncle or something, they really wanted him to play the part of Evil Guy and be extra obvious for the kids in the back)...Little disappointed with how the story is handled and how some actors are performing (Yan Lin is also quite cartoonish)...
Bai Lu is main lead with dark past but she spends most of her time taaaalking and thinking and looking. Main leads are so good, pleeeease use that, make it more mature and better directed, I dont want this drag, something similar happened to Legend of Anle, I hope not here too! But I think it's normal now for Cbinese dramas to be that censored, few are those with very original takes

For me they are different episodes with more time given to supporting characters, politics was not on a good level.
Also I don't like the habit of Chinese dramas where there is just so much talking and explaining without proper action done.
And being 14 eps in the drama I expect romance to start developing more but because of so much other scenes it wont happen as soon and when they do have an interaction it's yet another conversation with a little glance back - ok but it can get old after awhile, at least change the setting for them. The show has an interesting premise and I want to see it used in a fresh original way

Past two episodes were bit slower and too many uninteresting characters, please plot, move forward! ;( and more romance, still not enough scenes between leads

I never expected Zhang Ling He to play such a mature role, with so much raw passion in his eyes and the way he takes up space...very very good and it evokes so much from the audience, so powerful!
Dylan may seem somewhat younger and too soft for Bai Lu in OfL but here ZLH is like her perfect match, I like them very much together, they have contrasting visuals (he is very manly, she is very feminine) and yet similar powerful presence(just expressed in different eays, ofc) - this creates so much chemistry

I cant wait for their romance to develop, I stopped watching every other drama for this one <3

Ong omg omg finallyyyyyy!!!! And everyone thought this would cone out second part of 2024!! Chinese dramas always jump you from the back when you least expect it haha
I have so many dramas to watch(and no timeeee) but of course historical dramas are always a priority
