At first, I felt devastated to watch the ending. But then, I realized some points from this drama, that's not…
is the cup half full or half empty? is there a future for them when the child grows up? possibly. HS has gone missing before from court, nothing that a good disease/ over-exertion can't take care of. And as FJM doesn't even exist anymore, the disappearance of a Grand Mentor isn't such a big deal. is it?
Haishi and Jianming had a son together. When Weiyun is proclaimed as the heir, he is described as the eldest son…
now that you put it this way...lol... we didn't even need the rest of them! Actually I think they were administrators and bureaucrats. They swooshed their calligraphy brushes, filed papers and coordinated (plotted against) with each other while he did all the back-breaking work.
1) I was dying to know. looks like we won't find out. Someone mentioned that there were scenes of them burrying…
lol, sometimes when the director wants a certain direction, we can't fault their logic. just do it! u could be rite, there may be some ability on her part to foresee the future, but we were not informed about that. Still, this is the magical world of novoland, so anything is possible.

Well, if we allow logic to be defied, the mermaid has mystical powers - HS won't know for sure but the mermaid can prolly detect life being formed. Erh consummating again, is for the sake of pleasure? LOL A normal human can't tell, till one has missed the first month of menses, so there is no way HS would have known. I doubt she really knew what that reaction by the Lang Huan was about - she thought it meant that they were together - my suspicions. She must have an awfully strong womb to stand all that long-distance travel, galloping by horse and not suffering a miscarriage.
ignore the part about Shao Zi...in the novel, he was indeed a traitor but it's been changed in the drama.
to my understanding, he's alive and currently the new king's teacher. You have to watch all the credits and at…
here's what a crane symbolises: From fengshuibeginner.com : "In China, the crane, also known as the heron has always been one of the most auspicious symbols since the olden times. It is a symbol of nobility and long life. In addition, it also represents everlasting love and loyalty in romance. "
And from artfixdaily.com: "In Chinese culture, the crane is venerated as the prince of all feathered creatures and thus has a legendary status. Embodying longevity and peace, it is the second most favored bird symbol after the phoenix"
So, I take it to mean that the country is ushering in a period of peace and that FJM will live a long life. I was a little puzzled as to why the feather flew in the wind and we got to see young HS with FJM plus all the other love-scenes.... and I think the first explanation informs us that it also represents "everlasting love and loyalty".... (reason is because in E06, he didn't catch the feather, but in E48, he catches it"...so he accepts the love and loyalty from HS.

ikr, but given the situation, how can they rule a country w/out a ruler? Could HS have taken over in the interim as the consort, is there such a precedence? or would that be massive chaos?
Would you all prefer FangShi having kid but in public eye it will be Emperor child??? Even if they kept the child…
hhmm.. I think that can't be helped given the direction of the drama. Though I think they will do their darnedest to keep him/her out of the limelight. And he/she will be taught to protect the Emperor as well, even if the father and mother are there to do so, considering how duty-bound they are. It's such a strange turn of events, history repeats itself, the Emperor and FJM's child grows up together.
