CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN THE FEATHER?! WHY IS THAT IMPORTANT. What's so special about that white duck-looking bird…
You know the ending with the crane flying above head and it sheds a feather? It's when the Crown Prince aka Emperor is telling HS that FJM's health has improved as compared with the earlier years...
here's what a crane symbolises: From fengshuibeginner.com : "In China, the crane, also known as the heron has always been one of the most auspicious symbols since the olden times. It is a symbol of nobility and long life. In addition, it also represents everlasting love and loyalty in romance. "
And from artfixdaily.com: "In Chinese culture, the crane is venerated as the prince of all feathered creatures and thus has a legendary status. Embodying longevity and peace, it is the second most favored bird symbol after the phoenix"
So, I take it to mean that the country is ushering in a period of peace and that FJM will live a long life. I was a little puzzled as to why the feather flew in the wind and we got to see young HS with FJM plus all the other love-scenes.... and I think the first explanation informs us that it also represents "everlasting love and loyalty".... (reason is because in E06, he didn't catch the feather, but in E48, he catches it"...so he accepts the love and loyalty from HS.
So that's the parting message - though a rather cryptic one. Geez, it's not like all audiences know what the crane means!
I don't consider it tragic though cos they've always been satisfied just to be with each other. At least for Haishi,…
i believe u r right - which is why they don't have that hot passionate romance (that I felt when watching YM and MC). Instead, it's one of devotion, respect, admiration and an innate desire to protect, for both parties. He can continue to do that, he is prolly back to being in charge of Ji Feng Pavillion, and she is now the Empress Dowager, they have each others' back. He will continue to advice her on political affairs, just as how he has done with the previous Emperor. They will protect both children, theirs and Di Xu's, and the country. For HS, as long as he doesn't push her away, and I think unlikely he will now that he's committed to her not to, and they have a child together, that's happiness for her.
someone in this thread commented that with both their aptitude, and intelligence, living the rest of their lives in isolation is a complete waste of their talents. And running a row of shops probably doesn't give the same sense of purpose as running a country.
This is an ancient biographical drama about the world of embroidery, meaning such a person existed in history. It recounts the story of a talented painter and embroidery master Han Xi Meng who transforms from someone inexperienced into a master of her craft.
Willam Chen takes on the ML (Gu Shou Qian) role as the famous second grandson of the master of Lu Xiang Yuan in the Ming Dynasty. (I googled, apparently this place which is a garden plus two other gardens in Shanghai are known in history as the three famous gardens in Shanghai during the Ming Dynasty. This garden was also famous for producing peaches). The embroidery works featured in this drama were like paintings and very famous during that era, known as "painting embroidery" and because they were produced by the Gu family, also known as Gu embroidery. In this show, William has to portray a scholar who is gentle and elegant (unlike in Novoland PE where he is tough and domineering).
Song Yi takes on the role of Han Xi Meng. She excels in an exam for painters at the Dan Feng Painting Garden, run by Gu Shou Qian. After the usual twists and turns, Han Xi Meng marries the ML. And one of the daughters of the Gu family, privately teaches her the art of Gu embroidery which she eventually masters, with the support of her husband.
I’m so depressed that the director, screen writer and producer needs to do an epilogue ASAP to pacify the viewership.…
i am hoping for something extra as well. It's a cash generating machine for Tencent, considering it's well received in China. Wonder if they are up to it or contemplating it?
Among the three couples, FJM and HS had the most tragic ending imo. ZL and ZY are together and ride off to the…
i've never watched this franchise b4...only did it because of YM, tbh. So i won't have a clue. I was just thinking in terms of $. whether they can make some more $ if they produced an epilogue or something like that.

i wish they would release a short epilogue, provided they have the content for it. after all, they can milk it for what it's worth considering how popular it is.
yes, FJM didn't die. he goes back to wearing his mask, and is the Grand Mentor for the CP/Child Emperor. As to…
well, for some of us it's a bittersweet. First, he became bai xi for the baby. He takes on the baby's congenital ill health. Second, there's hint that they do have a child. The subtitles missed out the first 3 words "The eldest son, Prince Wei Yun promoted Consort Chun Rong of Feng Wu Palace to Empress Dowager" - so that's a hint that there was another child. Di Xu did not have any other children with Ti Lan. so that child must be HS-FJM. Third, there's comfort that they will see each other off and on, but that dream life to travel the world and enjoy each others' company will be put on hold, either temporarily or forever.

yes I understand where u r coming from. I suppose most of us are inferring from the actual Chinese phrase used "the eldest son"...so that implies other children. With 7 episodes being cut out, for sure....there's prolly tons we are missing. They couldn't just have jumped from that chat on the floor to the appointment... seriously! She agreed to stay back as Madame Hu Chu, next we know she's the Empress Dowager!

I feel the same way. He told FJM to lead a happy life but I am thinking how much happiness can he have now that he has to shoulder the weight of the country's wellbeing?
But you do know, if it's any consolation that the directors dropped hints that FJM-HS had a child right?
When FJM managed to survive the coup, my hope shot up. But they had to throw a curveball with the baby Prince's…
I don't think he keeps away, she listens to his lectures with the Emperor/son. and he enjoys her visits, even the son can tell. Whether or not they have any me-time together, that's the part that's left to our own imagination. and when the son is old enough, one day, perhaps, they may have some time for themselves again.
nope he didn't. There are clues that the Grand Mentor who is teaching the Crown Prince/Emperor is FJM. First, he tells the little boy the same things as HS. Second, everyday the court physician checks his pulse. Third, his health has been improving as compared with the earlier years. Fourth, HS loves to listen to lectures from him. Fifth, the Grand Mentor will be delighted to see HS, at the little boy's insistence, she agrees to go along. Then finally, after the feather flies in the sky, you must watch the credits, watch the song all the way till the end. You will see FJM back to wearing his mask and he catches the feather.
Yep definitly an open ending ...so they been bless by heavenly intervention the white feather make is as we see…
wow, you are have such great foresight. I am used to "u guess whatever endign u want" so I didn't bother to follow thru but then again there's always the words "the end" for c-dramas...and I didn't see that, so I should have smartened up to it. my bad.

For an example of a painting embroidery or 顾绣 (Gù xiù), check out this link - it's really like a painting! https://www.sohu.com/a/238026728_740471

As to whether they get to ride off into the dust, someday, when the child is older, as someone put it...is left to your own imagination.
