It's called tough love, and HJP even explains that.

They said "Out of all the VC's who came here, none was as harsh as you HJP" To which he replies, "because none of them are interested in your company, I am"

And if NDS doesn't have the mental to take criticism, then he doesn't deserve to be CEO.

He didn't pay NDS, because they didn't have an agreement, NDS showed up on his own volition.

And that may be the twist, now she will choose the other parent.

I can't speak for others, but the letters are not the main reason I like HJP.

My Main Reasons Are.

I enjoy the complexity and depth of his character.
He is acted well by KSH.
I feel he is more genuine than NDS
I feel he would benefit more from being with SDM than NDS.
I feel
His moments with SDM has more intensity, passion and chemistry than NDS scenes. And yes that includes the Ep. 7 Ending.

It's a matter of does SDM want to marry someone like her dad (NDS), or her mom (HJP).

HJP and the Mom are not risk taker, value money more.

NDS and Dad are both dreamers, value pride more than money.

Let's look at the facts.

Grandma started the lie, for good reasons, and for noble reasons. Over the span of 15 years never decided to tell SDM the truth.

HJP helped Grandma with her lie, but then after a years time, he left for university and lose touch with Grandma and SDM for 15 years until Grandma ask him to help with NDS.

NDS, is found by HJP, and asked to pretend to be the NDS from the letters for one night and end it with a lie telling SDM that the fake NDS has a girlfriend and is unavailable. And that would have worked, because SDM even says, "oh, you have a girlfriend." Fake NDS having a GF would have ended this pining SDM had, because it would have showed her that the love she felt for fake NDS was mutual, and fake NDS kind of waited for her in a way.

So up to the point, you can argue they are equally at fault. BUT THEN. If NDS had followed HJP, we wouldn't hear about fake NDS anymore, he would effectively be just a cherished memory for SDM.

BUT, guess what NDS decides to do? He decides to not only continue the lie, he decides to make the lie bigger and bigger, and more complex.

AT this point, Grandma is out of the picture, she has the least fault, as she actually wanted to tell the truth because, the sooner she knows the better.

At this point, HJP, is starting to question his feelings for SDM, so he decides to confront SDM and express his love... Oh wait, he can't, because by being at the work party and wingmanning NDS and even giving him his cars, he effectively is embroiled in this new lie of NDS. Now he has to spend his remaining time covering for NDS, pumping him, acting like his "brother".

The one time he wanted to tell SDM the truth, NDS cut him off, and made up a story that they were brothers.

At this point, NDS has started a brand new lie, it's no longer the same lie. Let's not kid ourselves, fake letters meant to make a young girl less lonely, is a lot different than a fake real life person. If this was real life, it would be considered fraud and is a jailable offence. NDS himself is the main person wanting to lie to grow and set up deeper roots. He even says, "I want to lie to live it's maximum life". This means, to get the girl, he doesn't mind to pretend to be the fake Dosan until it runs its course.

So those are the main differences between the three. I don't buy that they are equally at fault, initially yes. In fact I would say initially NDS had least fault. But after NDS continued to lie on his accord, it became a brand new, more painful lie, and all the hurt coming SDM way is entirely on his shoulders. There is no one else to blame, but i'm sure HJP will get blamed somehow.

The debt, as has been constantly discussed is not HJP real reason, Grandma even asked him, why all the trouble for a debt? In fact, as I have discussed before, HJP has nothing to gain by continuing to lie. But he is in no position to tell the truth either.

as long as it's Grandma HJP endgame, and they adopt Yong Shil I can be happy.

I guess it's like saying.

I want the man who catches me as I fall, rather than the man who falls with me, LOL!

those descriptions can go either way.

I think NDS fell love at first sight at the park, I don't think SDM did.

I agree, falling in love can be a physical attraction thing at times. But there needs to be enough substance, the proper dynamic for the relationship to last.

I'm just pointing out as a girl, I like men who guide me, help me even when i'm too proud to ask for help. Help me even when I feel I don't need it. For me, I feel more loved and nurtured that way.

When i'm with a man who just agrees with me on everything, and doesn't really disagree with me, not only does it stunt my growth, it makes me question how real the relationship is. Also, cute things, and aeghyo only goes so far in a relationship.

But of course, this is my point of view, i'm sure there are girls who prefer the guy who says yes to most things. Less arguments that way.

The thing about the step dad, interestingly enough HJP had already covered it by suggesting to record it. But yeah of course smashing the vase and defending her honour is going to look so much cooler as it's passionate. But NDS doing it actually got them in trouble, and if not for HJP's Sandboxing, they would have been in a big pickle.

Someone in the comments section mentioned that HJP was like the Sandbox. So it made me question. As a girl, do I fall in love with the man, who does what or agrees with whatever I tell him? Or the man who does things without me asking for my benefit?

HJP Sandbox Moments, the moments where he did things for SDM without being asked:

1. Of course the very original, the letters to young SDM. Although it was not his idea, he eventually kept at it for more than a year.

2. Finding the real NDS, and polishing him up to be presentable for SDM during the sister's party.

3. Tells CEO of Sandbox SDM might also be the girl the Sandbox logo is based on.

4. Makes edits to hackaton presentation

5. Makes edits and notes to noongil presentation.

6. Takes care of fortune plant, this is symbolic.

7. Gives SDM CSR list to help get funding.

8. Tells SDM to record meeting with morning group

9. Picks up SDM in the middle of nowhere, without her asking.

BONUS

How SDM did things for HJP without him asking.

1. She brought him a non combustible trash bag.

2. She brought him some pine nut soup.

3. She chose him as the mentor

Here is hoping the inventor of Yong Shil get's funded, and after the time skip, we see everyone using Yong Shil :)

Please please happy ending for HJP even if he doesn't end up with SDM.

That wouldn't make sense for the WIJ arc. Nor does it make sense for the friends arc as well.

Before, he could keep his temper in check, because these things that were happening didn't make him mad.

But having someone compete for the affections of the girl you love, will definitely sent NDS to a rage, and all the crochet in the world won't stop it.

NDS, as naive as people think he is, is better at lying and hiding his emotions than you think. Keep in mind this is after the GO-stop episode, where NDS is starting to suspect that HJP may have feelings for SDM. So the competitiveness of NDS is already starting to surface.

He saw that SDM and HJP seemed to be having a heart to heart talk, or talking about something serious at the least, in fact I suspect HJP was about to spill the beans on the lie. So he wanted to kind of interrupt it, steal the thunder so to speak with his big news, which included hugging SDM and everything. Kind of like showing HJP up, I mean look at HJP reaction afterwards. It worked, it made him sad. When SDM looks for HJP, NDS even asked "Why are you looking for him". That's already jealous NDS talking there.

And at this point, NDS does something sneaky. He tells SDM, "just ask me, i'll answer for HJP". I ask you, do you think this was right? I think this is wrong, let SDM ask HJP the question why stop her? Makes you think right?

Yeah, pretty immature from HJP there, he lost some points there for sure.

Actually, NDS has been provoking HJP for a few episodes now. But yeah still wrong for HJP to lose his cool, but let's not pretend he is just flipping out of the blue, there was definitely provoking.

I kind of don't want a war between these two over SDM to be honest, as i'm sure it will be handled poorly at this point. I'd rather SDM just choose in the next episode or two.

And there lays my problem with NDS. A good person would not do this.

He owed nobody to keep the secret, HJP didn't want it revealed, but since when does NDS care what HJP thinks? He's consistently shown he doesn't respect HJP.

He kept the secret to make SDM fall in love with him more than the 15 year letter NDS.

So, I don't want to hear anymore how NDS is a sweet boy, innocent, and etc... He knew what he was doing, and the lie has only gone this long because of him. He may not have started the lie, but it's because of him it's so big, convoluted and will hurt SDM big time when she finds out.

I mean imagine, being a first timer, and doing it with someone you thought you had a long history, only to find out, it's actually the twin brother? How mortifying...
