I think LG did explain to TE, that's why he even says theres a chance they will not see each other anymore, and that's why TE asked SJ to give her the flute.

I think rather then the poison food, Lee Rim just lost his marble, because plan after plan of his was foiled, and he probably just lost it and was not thinking rationall. Let's run it down.

Even a comment i made yesterday regarding how much i enjoy the cinematography & seeing viewers come up w discussion…
Actually for the longest time, there were no comments on the ratings. Nobody even bothers to mention that local ratings were going up or down.

Until some people kept bringing up international ratings, flixpatrol ratings, wavve, and etc..

Then the comment section just kind of lost its way.

So I got this explanation of EP 14 - 15 from and MDL user here called Charlotte, and I think it's quite nice with…
So basically if I were to understand Charlotte. This is how ep 14 - 15 panned out.

So in ep 14 after LG saves himself, he effectively is stuck in the past, and has no way to go to the future, except to wait it out.

He ends up staying 4 months in the time space world so he will not age.

He comes out a few times to make sure everything is happening the way its suppose to happen.

After 4 months is done, he comes out and reunites with TE in the ep 15.

When he comes out, all his memories of the past 25 years gets merged into his brain.

But lg is in the past. Why would that not affect the present?

What do you mean about Netflix waiting for the end of the year?
Numbers, even ones from netflix won't tell the whole story.

Netflix's metric is that anyone who watches 2 minutes of a show is considered a viewer.

For example the show WItcher, netflix numbers indicate 90 million views.

There has been discussion that netflix, which include the viewership numbers in their financial reports for stock holders, often inflate and manipulate the numbers to increase their bottom line.

In the end the numbers should not matter, in fact, i've already told these defenders several times, let's ignore the numbers from flipatrol, neflix, Neilsen Korea and what not, but they can't seem to let it go.

In the end if you like it great, if you don't ok. Both sides should be able to discuss the show here, without all the name calling and trollng.

There is nothing wrong with criticizing a Drama. Even dramas that are considered masterpieces have their own critics.…
Ok! Let's do some homework then.

So your telling me 1/3 of the population of Korea is paying for this?

My friend, don't be manipulated by the numbers, use logic.

https://www.indexmundi.com/south_korea/age_structure.html

Let us say the number of people who really consume Kdrama like crazy are in the ages of 20-40. That means the total people most likely willing to get something like netflix or wavve is approx 20 Million people. We already know that Netflix has a little bit more than 2 million subscribers in Korea.

So if I go to anywhere in korea, talk to a random person aged 20-40, 77% of the time, they will say, they are a PAYING subscriber of wavve?

That leaves 18 million. So you are honestly telling me, you think that 14 million people our of a possible 18 million people are using wavve? And they are all paying $6.80/month?

So in a years time, Wavve is maing 1.142 Billion US dollars?

Netflix on the other hand has 19M accounts in ALL OF Asia Pacific (APAC) at roughly $9/month

So in a years time Netflix is making 2.052 Billion US dollars for all of APAC.

so wavve is already making more than half the revenue of Netflix, who has been around since 2000's and Wavve has been around since late 2019.

Wow, sign me up, i'm going to invest in Wavve, because obviously they are goign to be WAAAAAYYYYY bigger than netflix. They are not even promoting it outside korea and it's already making more than a billion in revenue! Amazing!

By the way, I have this condo in Corea I want to show you...

I can't really comment on Naver, since I can't find the necessary data sets to make an analysis, but on China Media, which consumes a lot of Kdrama content, look at this.

Most of the comments are not positive, and there are 37,000 ratings for an average of 7.3/10 stars.

https://movie.douban.com/subject/33437305//

I'm not going bother digging, and translating Naver things, because i'm not a native speaker and google can only do so much. If you say it's trending, ok let's take it at your words.

But much like these comment section. There 8k comments, does this mean the show is good? No I don't think so. Trending does not equate to a show being good or bad.

For example, let us talk about president trump. People talk about him ALL the time, he's trending more than half the time. He has more articles written about him than president Obama ever did.

Does this mean president trump is better than Obama?

That is the part tha kind of peeves me. technically, due to where in the timeline future LG is, his actions should affect past LG but it doesn't.

LG in the future basically becomes nobody that can do whatever he wants and have no real ramifications.

basically they made LG a god in ep 14 and 15.

It's all too convenient.

got it.

If this was logical, there should be two LG, but merge it is?

When LG just merges with past LG memories, it just didn't make sense anymore because in essense past LG, the LG from the future should be affecting current LG, the one who was saved inEp 15.

It's all just writing for the sake of conveniency without addressing the logic of it.

but i'll take your explaination, because that's the only way it makes sense.

no, go to flix patrol to see all the countries it is getting info from.

There are 76

in total netflix is in 190 countries. So it's a fraction of the data. Just saying.

I am just reposting a conversation I had with Charlotte, I thought it is interesting.

Some people say say that KTEM is "loved globally"

You see, I can understand KTEM being loved, but the word "Globally" is quite strong in this case.

For me, some examples of Korean culture that have achieved Global Popularity are BTS and Gangnam Style. I just don't think KTEM can be compared to these two.

When you say something is Globally popular, I believe one of the factors is for it trend in more than one continent. As far as I know, KTEM is trending in mostly Asia, In places like the US, it doesn't even crack the top 10 most popular, same for Canada, UK, Spain, France, Australia and etc... Check for yourselves.

https://www.whats-on-netflix.com/most-popular/

Now what about the biggest country in Asia, China, what do they think? You be the judge... On China's version of Rotten Tomatoes/MDL, named Douban. based on 37,000+ ratings, TKEM is ranked at 7.3/10. That's is even lower than our MDL rating of 8.3.

http://koalasplayground.com/2020/04/28/c-media-critiques-why-the-king-eternal-monarch-ratings-are-dropping-in-south-korea-and-in-china-reviews-as-well/

I'm just not a fan of people using these ratings on flix patrol as some sort of bible. Here are some truths. Based on the last Q1 2020 financial report of NFLX, Here are the following subscription numbers.

You can check the numbers yourself
https://www.netflixinvestor.com/financials/quarterly-earnings/default.aspx

Asia - Pacific (APAC) - 19.835M accounts
Latin America (LATAM) - 34.318M accounts
Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) - 58.734M accounts
US and Canada (UCAN) - 69.969M accounts

So as you can see, even if it's trending on Netflix as some say, it represents a pretty small part of NFLX subscribers as a whole 11.11% to be exact.

And assuming that out of 10, to be able to snag the number 1 spot, you would get 25% of the market share to retain a number 1 trend (which I doubt is this high), and we add the local population ratings.

KTEM
International Viewers in Asia = 4.95M viewers
Local SK Ratings (assume 8% viewers of 22M households = 1.760M viewers
Total Viewers for KTEM (estimate) = 6,710,000 viewers

Add to the fact, we don't know how Netflix even calculates trending show for the day, what are the metrics?

Here's the thing, as new watchers, whether defender or critics. Don't let rankings, ratings, other people's comments sway you.

Don't be embarrassed or feel you are weird for liking something, a lot of people dislike.

If you like it, Ok good. If you hate it, Ok good.

If you want to discuss it with the community, then that's awesome!

The 15 countries were only those that had TKEM in the top 10. But just because TKEM is not in the top 10 list…
These are numbers for 2020. Season 3 of Ozark and Season 2 of Sex Education.

Anyway, I don't put too much stock on the numbers, as they can be difficult to interpret properly.

Only Netflix knows the true numbers, let us wait for the year end numbers for KTEM from NFLX.

I felt her acting since then has not been as natural. I also am not a fan of the excessive crying. On the other…
First time i'm seeing her myself, and she's quite powerful. I want to watch The Guest, i've heard good things, but I can't do horror/suspense at all.

I quite like the PM, she had potential, but then KES decided to destroy her character after ep 10.

the best scene in this entire show so far imo is episode 11, from the moment tae eul gets capture till the end.…
I felt her acting since then has not been as natural. I also am not a fan of the excessive crying.

On the other hand, Shinjae, the PM, and JY/ES has really stepped up their acting, they have been amazing since the beginning. In ep 15, when I saw the tears fall across SJ cheek, I got goosebumps.

I especially though the scene with the PM, where she finds out the bad news was especially powerful, considering the scenes we've seen with her mom.

Yes, I am well aware of how the numbers are derived.

But please, show me one person, who will choose flix patrol's metric over Nielsen's ratings.

Also please research a bit more on Netflix Trending list, nobody knows how they derive their numbers.

Like I said. Let us wait for actual numbers from Netflix themselves. And even then, you will fine TONS of articles saying Netflix numbers are heavily manipulated.

Check this website, this is far more accurate than flixpatrol, and it get its number from Netflix themselves.

Let us look at one case. The show "Sex Education" has been viewed 40,000,000 times. But on Flixpatrol, for the year, it is ranked #41 in term of views. Ozark S3 on the hand is estimated by the NFLX to be in the 30,000,000 viewer range, but they are #6 on the Flixpatrol List.

Please view this letter to sharedholders from Netflix detailing the viewership numbers.

https://s22.q4cdn.com/959853165/files/doc_financials/2020/q1/updated/FINAL-Q1-20-Shareholder-Letter.pdf

https://www.whats-on-netflix.com/news/every-viewing-statistic-netflix-has-released-so-far-may-2020/

That is why I said, let's ignore both the online streaming, flixpatrol, wavve, Neilsen ratings, and etc...

And let's just discuss the show on its merits.

If you choose to keep pushing flix patrol numbers, well that's up to you, but I cannot continue the discussion with you for all the reasons I have already stated.

Thank you.

Nope according to Flixpatrol Bangladesh isn't one of the countries TKEM is top 10 in.And if you bothered to read…
I didn't say they are false. I said they were incomplete.

So, I don't deal with incomplete information. At the end of each year Netflix will post viewership numbers. So how about we wait for that?

SURE, you can make assumptions, and make claims, but in the end. That's what they are, assumptions, and at best, educated guesses based on incomplete information.

Do you understand? I feel we're intercommunicating here.

This will be my last reply to your post here. But thank you for your making the comment section a fun place to be in.
