He is dubbed by a voice actor, it's not his own voice. It's in the series credits.
Only ZiYu is dubbing himself.

Wu Suowei - 梓渝 Zǐ yú
Chi Cheng - 顺子 Shùn zǐ
Guo Chengyu - 张东 Zhāng dōng

Looks like a high white California Kingsnake, as others have said, but then the snake killer got bitten and passed out, which would imply it's not because they're not venomous. But it likely is a hwCK, and that snake killer was just a pansy lol

too true , i don't watch BL dramas often cause so few off the ones i have watched don't seem to pull it off well…
😭 I wish I could tell you I have great recommendations for you, but you are right unfortunately, BLs are either showing some sexual attraction but lacking in other areas, or they do quite well in other areas, but fall flat on the sexual attraction front, even when they depict sex, the fall flat on the sexual attraction front. As it is, I can only TENTATIVELY suggest:
Trapped in Osaka - this one hits ALL the marks, however it's painfully short.
Knock Out (it's lacking in a many places, but there are some hints of physical/sexual attraction between both ML pairs, and a good build up of UST. The second pair are really good in this one imo, far better than the mains)
Fight For You - Also very lacking, and the plot base of this is stupid af, but the pairing has great chemistry and they also depict a few hints of physical/sexual attraction as the show progresses.
The Heart Killers - They tried, with varying degrees of success and failure.

...and that's all I got. But really, Knock Out, Fight For You and The Heart Killers don't come anywhere NEAR Revenged Love, they're just not totally devoid of depicting physical attraction. And like I said, Trapped in Osaka is on point, but it's very, very short. I doubt this'll help you XD sorry, the average BL just doesn't offer up Revenged Love's quality of relationship building!

And someone followed Zi Yu from the airport to his house so that he had to run outside and chase them away but…
Exactly, the Thai crazy fans have emotional breakdowns about this shit, and SK fans put up funeral wreathes wishing the deaths of the celebs in the streets, China's crazy fans (in their extreme numbers due to their sheer population) swarm like ants to something sweet, brainless, one task in mind, they can be destructive. Each Asian country producing BL and idols/pop stars has this problem, Unhinged® psycho fans who are very mentally unwell. Even the west has its brand of whack ass fans. They're all equally bad and they need to face consequences, or be institutionalized.

Kudos to you for recognizing and acknowledging that the Unhinged® fans are bad in other Asian countries too. SK and Thailand have their own brand of whackos. The BL fans in China are just so oppressed for BL content that they're somewhat more psycho about it than the others.

Hi chingu :D Bc of you I've started The Sparkle... 5 eps passed but I find it chaotic @_@ The drama's making,…
Hi! I enjoyed The Sparkle in your Eye in the end, despite the plot being a little too big for the way it was executed. Like you said, the acting was good! About itnot being on MDL, that's got something to do with staffing on here I think? I don't really know their reasons tbh.

As for the 9th gif it is indeed Thai! It's from the BL Love in Translation https://kisskh.at/761325-love-in-translation-uncut with the fantastic pairing of DaouOffroad! If you haven't seen it, I def recc it :D

Omg I completely agree with you. The push/pull flirting, building attraction is so sexy. The touches, all the…
Those who KNOW about Chinese BL (before the censorship, and even during), know what we lost, what we've been missing. Revenged Love is the first full fledged step (not including the other smaller projects that are also a good watch) to bring us back to the standard of Chinese proper BL.

They always could have, and if they keep going this way, they WILL dominate the BL industry.
On Revenged Love Jul 2, 2025
Some of you might be wondering what's different about this BL, why it is that the build up and moments of Chi Cheng/Suo Wei and (at the moment to a lesser extent) Chengyu and Xiao Shuai is hitting you so hard. The reason for this is because of something that at least 95% of BLs do not include in their works, and that is the proper development of emotional but also PHYSICAL/SEXUAL attraction.

Most BLs skirt around physical attraction, the directors don't seem to know how to make two men appear/act physically/sexually attracted to each other apparently, maybe they don't understand it or something. So they do what they can with emotional attraction (although it's usually something like 'oh you're a good person' because they saw them doing a good deed or 'you helped me once when I was 10 years old and I've been in love with you ever since' or some such asinine nonsense) but beyond the slow mo 'seeing one another for the first time' scene, or the 'fall and catch' scenes or the going out shopping/eating/fluffy cutesy montage scene, etc, they generally either cash in as much as they can on kissing scenes or they go straight to the sex scenes to distract the viewers.

They don't depict the two characters actually growing to like EACH OTHER, growing closer, growing more comfortable, noticing what/how they like each others personalities/appearance/bodies. The art of attraction/physicality in the form of small touches, hand placement, body closeness, eye contact, a well timed look or smile, and even proper open physical relationship based dialogue, etc, is lost in most BLs, they don't even realize the value of these things and they waste so many opportunities in some cases of good shows.

Chinese censored BLs generally relied on those things to build the romantic relationship behind censorship, and it worked very well, so now, in a proper Chinese BL, where those small but important details of physical/sexual attraction are depicted along with the actual full relationship scope, it really catches you right.in.the.FEELS.

TL;DR: Basically, in most BLs they glaze over the nuance of being gay, of gay sexuality, of the characters being sexually attracted to each other. But Revenged Love is doing no such thing.

The only GRIPE I have so far is that we have not seen a PROPER PROPER kiss, until now. In the past 3 episodes…
It's not censored, it's just to build tension before their next proper kiss. Their first kisses were 'forced' for Suo Wei in a sense, so whenever their next kiss will be, it's going to be Suo Wei wanting it and kissing back. I don't think those scenes that faded out were meant to be them doing anything much, since Suo Wei has Chi Cheng on a promise to keep things from being too physical until he decides other wise.

Tontae grew up seeing Nankrai as an older brother (father figure) that he dearly adores. Nankrai timing and fashion…
All the episodes so far make him look naive and like an idiot, regardless of Nankrai, he took what should have been a fun fling with a foreigner and he turned it into 'love' in 5 days. Too sheltered from reality, not logical, too easily attached. It didn't help that the actor/character of Victor seemed like he was just saying what Tontae wanted to hear half the time. Might be the actor's fault for not delivering emotionally, might be the script for giving Victor such superficial dialogue responses.
Anyway, I said what I said, no take backsies.

If China can keep making bl with this kind of chemistry I dont need the nc scenes😊
And THAT'S why even their censored BLs are a big serve.

Yeah people have too many hang ups about nonsense these days, it's taking all the fun outta stuff. The trend has already tanked BL after BL in 2025 alone, only those die hard 'fandom' followers don't drop the 'popular ones', but the stories all fall flat around episode 5 or 6 these days. I too hope for more Chinese BLs!

Let me tell you guys, I died many times during this episode, so maaaaany Little Deaths, but I especially died at 37.37 ⚰️👻 That smooth move and "We're both grown men, what's the point of sweet talking you?" I'M SAYING Chi Cheng, you're spitting these lines that are aggressive yet sexy af and I'm loving it.

Also Cheng Yu be laying on this "Ask and you shall receive." attitude, and I feel like since his "What illnesses do you treat, I'll get one right now." B- flirting game, he's leveled UP and it's working for him!

Now, a week to wait. Ouch. But good ouch.

"Oh yeah media literacy is at an all time low!" ~ definitely, it's gotten worse in the last decade or so especially.

Western LGBTQ shows don't follow this goody goody formula as far as far as I've seen, morally gray characters are common. And from every BL producing country there have been exceptions here and there, that's why I said more often than not. Aside from the one you mentioned, there was also Futtara Doshaburi (which featured infidelity and unhealthy relationships), and DFF and The Bangkok Boy out of Thailand, featuring mentally unhealthy people, murder and criminals as MLs all the way. Taiwan had Kiseki; Dear To Me also criminal MLs (albeit quite softly done) and SK might have some too, but I can't think of any tbh. Secret Relationships doesn't count because the two who ended up together were pretty typical goody types, dickhead 1 and dickhead 2 don't count, but they were very entertaining. lol

And I agree with your last point, people are willingly, pointlessly mentally stifling themselves and I honestly have no fucking idea why.

It's called critical awareness, which MANY people do not have it seems. Being able to watch fiction of all kinds and knowing how to separate it from real life should be easy peasy. Additionally, to be able to tell when a certain narrative is being used as a character development tool or a plot device, or when a certain idea is meant for foreshadowing, but nope, it just ruffles ALL the feathers. Lot's of puffy fishery going on in BLs where the leads are morally gray.

This is why Thai, SK, Taiwan and JP BLs are predictable more often than not, because the fanbase of these BLs cannot comprehend the leads being anything other than neon green flags, shiny shiny, nice and good and so on, so those BLs never veer very far away from that playing field.

Chinese writers don't gaf though lol and I'm here for it, always have been. I mean, my fave fictional characters are Deadpool and Hannibal Lecter, I'll take my red flags and die on a hill with them 🫡

I'd advise any other critically aware thinkers to keep calm and watch on! The author says shit gets really good from ep 9, let's fucking go!

P.S: this is NOT to suggest romanticizing fucked up themes, please keep your toys in your cots.
