My Jan 2025 Recommendation Challenge

Watch this for Recommendation Challenge by KDramaMama. This one sit quite a while in my PTW, but really reluctant to watch because I'm not too fond of watching remake. But here we are finished watching this one.

Story about Hwang Woo Yun (WY) & Hwan Seung Hee (SH). WY & SH met in high school, due to some circumstances SH move away without saying goodbye. WY finally found SH after seeing her in some mags, and WY chase her down & they met again in the university. Unfortunately at that time, SH already got a boyfriend, so they got separated again.

Years later, they met again, but this time is WY that got girlfriend. Although WY got GF, he still can't forget SH, so when there's a chance to went alone with SH, WY took it. And with all the feeling that's linger between them, WY decided to break up with his GF & try his chance with SH.

But the unfortunate thing is irresistible, the day WY tell SH is the day WY got injured because of he tried to save SH. Although WY & SH ended up together after this, but that's incident like the thorn in flesh in their relationship. & once again they separated.

Until one day in the future they met again. It's happen when SH give the news to WY that's she's about to get married. WY have conflicted feeling about the news, one side he still can't forget SH, but one side the thorn still linger in the air between them. So... What's the ending of their relationship...?

That's pretty much the story without giving any more spoilers. Once again, this really remind me to what you consider light word is sometimes cut deeply into someone heart & more hurtful than a mouthful full of sharp words, especially if that said by someone important for us.

Overall this still one real story about the one that got away. Unfortunately for me, this version not leave much impression, it's easy to forget.

Watch this for my alphabet challenge and happy can watch this...

Story about the first trial that involve jury in Korea. It follows the case of a son brutally murdering his mother, with all factors seeming to point to a guilty ruling. However, the trial did not go as smoothly as expected by the professional (Judge, attorney and prosecutor). Because with the addition of jury, the case open to new eyes and new possibility.

This movie give us point of view of how ordinary people can see and notice something that overlook by professional, cause they just think the easy and fastest way to end the case. The Jury especially help the head judge to think back about her original purpose for choosing judge as her profession.

For me this movie really help me to remember, not to judge the book by its cover. Always remember innocent until proven guilty need to emphasis for everyone...

This really one good & interesting movie...

My Dec 2024 Recommendation Challenge

Long time heard about this one, but quite hesitate to watch it cause I don't too fond of Z-Tao. But I'm glad for the recommendation challange & MIMI who pick this drama for me...

Story about Qian Wei (QW), a girl who feel failure about her life. She graduate with law degree, but failed the bar exam made her no choice but to work as a paralegal & assistant for her classmates & rival in university, Lu Xun (LX).

One day buy miracle, QW back to her university days & had a change to restart every thing about her life. So with the knowledge of the future, QW start to 'fix' her life. QW start to take every opportunity that's been lost in her youth, the opportunity to be the lead, instead of her 'rival' LX.

But when QW start to experiencing all of it again, she start to notice all the thing she never noticing back in her youth. Like all the things LX did for her back in the days... Knowing all of it now, make all the impression & feeling QW had for LX all these years changing. And in the end they even began to be in a relationship.

And because MDL already told us, that QW is in comma & only having 'dream'. When all the thing start smoothly in QW favor, QW & LX relationship start to having problems. And that's when QW finally awake from her comma & dream.

In real life, QW who just been awake start to feel a blur between dream & reality. At first, she having mixed feelings & memory between her dream & her own past. But slowly her memory start to come back & she can differentiate more of between her dream & her own past.

But she soon realized all the things in her dream start to be the truth in her life too. Like, when Qian Chuan got a word of advice from their dad about his life after the incident, turn out to be the truth in real life (QW before didn't know about this fact, she knows in from her dream). Or like when Liu Shi Yun open the noodle shop.

With all of the event in her dream start to become reality, QW realized LX feeling for her also must be the same with her dream too... So QW start to challenging LX feeling for her, just to be slap with LX strong-willed to hide his feeling for QW. So... Who will win in the end...?? ^^

That's pretty much the story without giving any more spoiler. Now what I like and don't.

What I like:
+Z-Tao really good here. Really fit for LX. Haha... I really like his character here. Although LX kinda stupid and so d*mn stubborn to hide his feelong for QW. But I really like the scene when LX admit his feeling for QW.
+ I really like Song Zu Er too... I like how she can act differently between the youth QW and adult QW.
+ They give us a a little show about attorney job, but not really bore us with all the detail.
+ No stupid love rival. Oh they have stong love rival, QW's ex, Li Chong Wen (CW). But I really like how he knows his place & not becoming the evil and stupid EX. And the feeling of threaten that CW brought for LX is quite funny to watch.
+ The friendship. In the end, the friendship of QW, Mo Zi Xin & Liu Shi Yun is really one good friends till the end.

What I don't like:
- The stupid stubborn LX when he really try to hide his feeling for QW. Frustrated to see the writer stalling us for a few episode just to see how in the end LX give up and just confess.
- The stupid antagonist. I know she doesn't want to dirtied her own hand, but the action of her feel half-baked. I don’t kbow how to put it in words.

Overall this one fun drama to watch...

Watch this for my Movie Alphabet Challenge & Inoue Mao. Been a while since I've watched her in Hanadan. Haha...

Tell story about Takuma, a boy who is told he will die before he's 20, and Mayu, a girl who is in love with him. Takuma & Mayu met in the hospital, where Takuma get hospitalize & Mayu who wait for her father, Takuma's doctor. By accident, young Takuma & Mayu heard about the fact that Takuma will die before he's 20. But since they're just a little kid, they embrace that fact in their own way.

Fast forward to the future, Mayu continues to stay close, support and love Takuma's side until they're in high school & the taunting limit age of Takuma's life closing by. And this where the story start moving again with all the sad feeling that linger in the air.

Takuma, who knows his days are numbered, start to pushes away his feelings for Mayu and distances himself from her. He cannot stand to see her cry or hurt her more than he already has. Takuma decided to enroll himself in the boarding school to separate himself with Mayu. But instead just giving up, Mayu persistently stick herself to Takuma by enroll herself to the same school with Takuma.

In that school, Mayu meets another man who has feelings for her, and Takuma meets a woman who has the same illness, and their feelings for each other begin to waver. So how their story ended...?

That's pretty much the story without giving much of the spoiler. Overall I really like this movie. A good movie to spend your time with. Fair warning, just prepare your tissue when you watch this... Haha...

This movie tell us the harsh fact of life.
* How Takuma try to distance himself from Mayu but fail. How he got jealous when there's another boy that start to chase Mayu.
* We can see the selfish side of people for our loved one. Like when Mayu begged the donor family to just give up their 'brain dead' son. And the family said, that his son still able to cry, so they're not giving up.
* How brave Takuma, when he makes piece with death by accepting his time.

Watched this to fill my Alphabet challenge. But in the end I was quite happy to watch this.

Story about Hino Maori & Kamiya Tooru. Their story started when Tooru made a false confession to Maori. Even though she knows that the confession is a lie, Maori says yes with the three rules: "Don't talk to me until after school, Keep communication brief, and Don't fall in love with each other.

The two promise not to fall in love, but as they get to know each other, they find themselves drawn to each other. But one day, Tooru finally knew the reason for Maori to set the rule for their relationship. Maori suffer from anterograde amnesia, the brain damage that will make her forget all the things when she falls asleep.

Like 50 first dates, Maori also got this because of the accident. & she keeps a diary to take note about everything that's going on that day to be read the next day.

Knowing this fact didn't stop Tooru from going out with Maori. Tooru is devoted to bringing her as much happiness as possible. So, how will their relationship end? Will it be like 50 first dates, where they get married…? Or will this end with a sad ending…?

That's pretty much the story without giving much of the spoiler.

This is a really good movie about how amazing our body & brain actually are. Even though Maori’s memories erased every day, in the end her body remembered.

If I have to put myself in Maori shoes, with diseases like Maori. I really don't know how stressed I will be. And the decision taken by Wataya Izumi… I think it's the right one…

Overall this is really one good movie….

The ending....

Watch this just because I'm bored & decide to search something short & look interesting. And since this already quite sometimes too in my list, so yeah let's check this out...

Story about Su Nan (SN) & Gu Yi Bei (YB), a university student couple that break up cause SN suddenly disappear from YB's life with no explanation. One they meet again 5 years later at a party. And since then YB try to get SN to his side again. So, how will the story go forward from that...?

That's pretty much the story. Now what I like and don't.

What I like:
+ Interesting story at first. The way YB chase after SN, & how all the reason behind SN disappear from YB's life slowly revealed over time. It's all so good for short drama. Until....
+ The chemistry between Wang Zu Yi & Shao Yu Qi quite good.

Overall this quite good for short drama. Unfortunately we have this kind of ending. Without this kind of ending actually I'll gonna rate this 8.5 - 9... What's that ending...?? Well if you read the comment below or any other review before me you already know the answer. But I still gonna shout it out again. And that's also mean BIG SPOILER ALERT!!! Watch this of course because of YouTube fishing. Haha... Interesting story but not so much in the implementation.

This time MDL summary quite true to the story. Story about Liang Xiang Yi (XY) who is framed and poisoned with a powerful aphrodisiac. Unintentionally, she shares a passionate night with the handsome CEO Han Cheng Xun (CX), but wakes up the next morning in shock -- she has transformed into a man! To find out what happened, she (or he) had a romantic journey with the CEO.

What I like:
+ Quite original plot for short drama. The usual plot will be they spend the night, she pregnant or disappear... But this one quite different, they added the plot where XY change into a man.
+ The chemistry between our couple quite good.
+ Quite bold moves for C-short drama. Much like Furrina wrote in comment: "ML made this. The dude is so casually careless that his girlfriend is switching mid-kiss. He is living a bisexual's dream". Heck yeah... CX fall in love with both the female figure and male figure of XY. Haha...

What I don't like:
- The story until the last second still not so clear. How XY can change into man. How to cure her. The fact they just accept the fact is a lot of BS.

Overall this quite good for short drama. But still better search for other and better short drama out there.

Quite curious about this one. Finally finished watched this. Let's discuss drama...

Story about dr. Wandee who had long crush with his friend & colleagues, dr. Ter. One day Wandee gather his courage to confess his feeling, and get rejected by dr. Ter. His reason, Wandee is too plain or pure for him. Pissed by that comment, Wandee decided to play around & just pick random man as his date. That's when he meet Yoryak, a boxer.

Short story, Wandee & Yoryak start to have one night stand. But from that, they decided to have friend with benefit status and soon that's relationship also evolved into something more. But at the same time, dr. Ter also start to regret of his rejection to Wandee & hope to have relationships with Wandee too.

So what will their relationship be in the end...?

That's pretty much the story. Now what I like and don't.

What I like:
+ Good chemistry between Wandee & Yoryak. Good relationship too...
+ How cute they like to play role in their relationship.
+ How Wandee & Yoryak relationship grow & how they set up their boundaries.
+ Asexual representation

need to fill the C letter in my 2024 Alphabet Movie Challenge. So I choose this. Haha.... Turn out to be one of the best romantic movie that I've watch this year...

Story about Gabriela Benedictos Dela Cuesta (Gab). If MDL describe her as "close to perfect girl", my word is a woman who try to be the perfect one, perfect daughter for her mom, perfect girl for her boyfriend. That's make her have some hidden desire. One day Gab met Jose Ibarra Garcia Gonzales Jr. (Dos) in a friend wedding. They end up going to the after party & because of drunk, they get married.

That's when everything kinda not make sense. I don't know about Philippine law regarding married, but this marriage is even more chaotic than every Hollywood drunk married, cause Gab or Dos not even go to church or court house to make their marriage official. So I completely don't understand how they're legally married in the first place.

But anyhow...

Skip to 1 year later, since their married accident. Gab get proposed by her 6-year boyfriend & she accepted it. (But from the look at Gab face, we actually already know how that will end up.... Haha...) The next day Gab get a letter from the courthouse that stated that she's married to Dos. Gab try to dig her mind to remember the event. & thankfully Gab still have Dos number, so Gab contacted Dos to annul their married.

Now about Dos...

Dos falling in love at the first sight with Gab. But when Gab contacted him about their marriage he also shock. But regardless Dos agreed to meet Gab to talk about their married. Upon their meeting, Dos get to remember how pretty Gab is & he fall in love again with her. But anyhow, Gab still insisted that their marriage should be annul cause Gab want to married her boyfriend.

But of course this still a romantic movie right. So, with Gab & Dos start to be connected. That's evoke the hidden feeling in their heart. Gab also be awaken about the problem with her own relationship. But how this will end up in the end...? Will Gab receive Dos hand in marriage or will she free herself from all the relationship...?

That's pretty much about the movie. Now let's talk about what I like and don't.

What I like:
+ As usual, Kathryn Bernardo & Daniel Padilla chemistry never can go wrong
+ How to be honest with urself

What I don't like:
- To make everything romantic regardless any logic. Like the marriage of Gab & Dos

Forget where did I stumble on this one. But really happy can watch this.

Story about 2 teenage boys, Song Xuan (SX) and Liu Wen (LW). LW's school comes a new boy, SX, an a cold and introverted but smart boy. Because of his introvert personality, SX have no friend. One day LW stumble SX who having problem with neighborhood bad boy, LW help SX. And with their friendship begin.

SX start to open up with LW & SX told LW he has no friends cause his parents like to move from place to place due to their work. Since that day, SX also start help LW with his study & their friendship deepen...

Yeah... Unfortunately this only short video. So not much I can tell you about this. But for sure... This one hell good short BL from China. Oh yeah... Don't lie to ourselves and said it just bromance. No... Their eyes tell much more than any word can describe their relationship. The only missing is kissing and hugging to make it official... Haha...

The missing link

I'm happy can watch this....

This is to fill the blank within the drama. Like what happen after their last time drinking together before Fan Tuan (FT) went abroad. Or what happen before Mu Guang (MG) receive the phone about FT in their town. So yeah, we also watch the several scene from the drama.

But apart from that, the most important think is: this special episode completed the journey of FT & MG. What happen after the episode in the drama, who FT saw outside & what happen to both of them...

The suck, only one, but big problem... This have no sub. So yeah, I'm watching it RAW. Some scene not so important (haha) & some scene I try to endure it & understand it briefly.... But overall I'm so happy I can watch this closure...

one good youth drama

Finally found another good youth drama. This is quite a hidden gem, cause the actor/ess not famous, so I think almost no one heard about this drama. I also forget how can I found & decided to watch this one. But I feel quite fortunate can watch this. The best thing about this drama is: This available on YouTube with Eng Sub. The worst thing... like mostly drama on YT, the sound sometimes disappear, together with the sub & the music. But for me it's still barrable & the missing sound not really make me feel lost in the story....

Ok. Let's talk drama...

This story about 2 childhood friend, Chen Mu Guang (MG) & Shi Fan Tuan (FT). They live next to each other since childhood, and like mostly the school romance story, they start to develop feeling for each other, especially we can see how obvious it for MG. This is also the story about how MG & FT try to steer their youth until graduation, with their friends & family.

Apart from that, this youth drama also talk about family problem, health problem & also mental health problem. That's what make this youth drama quite different from any other school drama. I don't want to talk much about it, cause I don't think I can separate the spoiler from just edge of the overall story. You need to watch it yourself to understand what I mean, or do message me for it...

Ok. Now let's discuss what I like & don't.

What I like:
+ Simple yet quite deep meaning youth drama, that different from any other youth drama.
+ Ao Zi Yi & Yang Zhi Wen both quite good portraying MG & FT. Especially Ao Zi Yi. I can really feel how desperate, how sad, how lonely MG in the drama...
+ The friendship between all the gank.
+ Bai Hai Chuan for easy in letting FT go & have the courage to talk to his dad.

What I don't like:
- Sometimes, in the beginning, this quite boring. Cause the story is nothing new, we all quite familiar with the plot. it make me almost drop it in the middle. But thank god I continue watch this...

Overall I'm quite happy I found this hidden gem.

But since this just second grade drama, it's quite hard to find it. And once again, Thank god, there's someone post the link to it. Heard there will be a second season of this, so before I watch that, let’s dive into this 1st season…

Story about Babe, race car driver who change s*x partner likes changing clothes. Haha… One day comes Charlie, who wants to be a racecar driver but he doesn't have a racecar of his own. So Charlie come to Babe to borrow his car in exchange for s*x. Amused by how brave Charlie is, Babe accept the offer & they officially become s*x partner.

The deeper in the series we also learn that this is not only about racing cars. But also about kids / people with special abilities. Babe has this special ability, his hearing is more sensitive than other people. Babe had a foster father, Tony Chen, Tony had collected & trained all special kids for a long time & all those kids called him dad. Babe at first feels grateful for Tony, to give him shelter, food & all the love & care. But later on Babe learned Tony is the reason his real father abandoned him & Tony also exploited Babe special ability for Tony's own gain, that pissed Babe, so he ran away from Tony grab.

But Tony did not just stay still. After so many years (they don’t tell us how many years) Babe ran away from Tony’s house. Now Tony finally decided to chase after Babe. Tony enters the race car business by investing in Babe’s no 1 competitor & trying every means to make Babe return to him, even with dirty tricks. How will Babe & all his friends fight against Tony & all nasty things he did…?

That’s pretty much the story, without giving away all important spoilers… Unfortunately this drama has too many stupid plot holes that sometimes just makes me laugh while watching…. Nothing much about what I like.

What I like:
+ Pavel Naret Promphaopun as Babe.
+ S Vorarit Vaijairanai as Tony Chen
+ The cute second couple Alan & Jeff. Although their story is also stupid. But I quite like their story.
+ The dirty business behind sport & the ambitious people that will do anything for the trophy or the change, like Winner & Dean
+ Kim, he’s one sportive man that acknowledges Babe as his rival.

What I don’t like:
- How combustible Babe. He really doesn't like to hear any excuses from people.
- Pooh Krittin Kitjaruwannakul as Charlie. I don’t know it just feel Charlie is so stupid. They want to give the impression that Charlie is a naive man, but I don’t get that vibe from Pooh himself.
- The story of Alan & Jeff. It is just like Alan falling in love with Jeff out of nowhere, it feels like that’s the script so they just go on with the plan.
- Seeing so d*mn many special people around Babe, until it just felt stupid.
- Everyone feels intimidated by Babe's ability.
- They don’t really explain to us the level of the special kids are… Like Babe special Alfa, Pete as Enigma. What the hell is Enigma…?

The plot holes:
- Tony’s house is filled with many kids with special abilities that Tony considers important & precious, yet the security really makes me laugh. It is like every person that is being held captive so easy to walk away from that property…. Like how Babe ran away from home, in the flashback we also see how Pete also just ran away or how Jeff ran away later on. See… that’s so easy…
- People so stupid yet so lucky. Several times what Sonic & North did is just plainly stupid, but they are important characters, so the writer decided to save them just at the last second.

Let's continue the journey of Fan Xian...

This season is heavier than the last season. Fan Xian (FX) fall deeper into the Emperor's web of plan.... As usual really like Jeana & PeachBlossomGoddes writing. For deeper thoughts read their writing....

Now let just discuss what i like & don't like about this drama...

What I like:
+ All the important cast is back!!! Hope remain the same in the season 3
+ The beautiful growth in FX character. Really like what Jeana & PeachBlossomGoddes wrote. Yeah this season more focus how "FX embraces his mother's legacy with a sense of purpose and a clear vision of what he means to do with it. & how the way "his thirst for justice and fairness builds up in every episode."
+ The next level in FX & Lin Wan Er (WE) relationship. Let me be a shallow girl & be exciting about their new status....
+ Every character keep surprising me with their hidden layer... I feel I need to learn about them every time they plan / act something....
+ How FX brutally honest with WE. Even when she ask him about her brother.
+ The joke & all the question that's been ask by FX's teacher in real world. Haha... That's the exact question I want to ask the writer...

Well nothing I really don't like, so let me just add too in here... Haha... What I don't too like:
- Woman sometimes really can't lie about their face. Although we see almost no different in the man face, but the woman (WE & Fan Ruo Ruo) we can see their older. Haha... Especially Li Qin, make up can't hide this fact, or maybe the make up indeed a little bit different from season 1
- I don't like the changing in Yan Bing Yun (YBY) & Ye Ling Er (LE) cast. No i don't complain how they can't act. But I don’t think both actor/ess fit to play the role. Wu Xing Jian can't even come close to Xiao Zhan serious face when come to YBY character, his face is too cheerful maybe to play the serious face of YBY. And vice versa with Gina Jin as LE, her face is way too serious....
- This season a little bit too heavy for my plate. There's a time I kinda bored with all the scheme the emperor plot....
- I got more and more confused about the mysterious temple & FX's mother.
- The ending. Although not really a cliffhanger like season 1. This season still leave us hanging in the edge of the cliff...

Overall I quite happy this drama can have season 2. quite exciting for season 3. I really hope I don't need to wait too long like season 1 to 2 & all the important cast remain the same...

My July recommendation challange

Watch this for my July recommendation challange by forest Not realize I've already watch the Japan version just a few month ago. If not for the challange, I'll already drop it in the first 10 minutes. Haha...

Tell story about Chul Min (CM), a former boxer, who starts a new job as a parking lot attendant. One night, a visually impaired young woman, Jung Hwa (JH), walks into his tollbooth to watch television with him. JH's bright smile & cheerful spirit reach through to CM's lonely heart. Together CM & JH bring ray of hope into each other lives.

But their love and happiness may be short-lived, cause soon CM know the reason for JH blindness & his connection to it & fell regret yet responsible at the same time. For that's reason, CM finally decided to take the challange of underground fighting, to get enough money for JH's eye surgery.

In the end, there's some accident after CM underground fighting & that's causing CM to disappearing from JH's life. What will come in the end? Will CM & JH meet again in the future?

That's overall the story. Now let's talk what I like and don't.

What I like:
+ The Japan version I forgot, even though MDL write the summary about ML also go to underground fighting, to get enough money for FL's eye surgery. But I don't really remember much about it. But this one, leave bigger imprint in my mind about his intention for underground fighting.
+ I more like the chemistry Korea Version than the Japan version.

What I don't like:
- Many problem apart from CM & JH relationship are not explained. Like how CM back to Korea after the fight, or what happen with his business with underground gank... (You know the diamond...)

Overall this good movie to watch. I'm quite happy can re-watch this with different version.
