I love Dramaland, where anything is possible - it will be interesting to see whether Chai An would readily welcome this version of Shen into the sons-in-law alliance!

So much to unpack in ep 18 but my favorite scene was when Yu Xiu E got slapped by her mother.

Even more revealed in ep 19 but I think we all knew what to expect. This is truly a women-centric drama and I loved how the Empress Dowager got involved. Love the way she delivered her order, and then turned around to sweetly ask the Emperor if that was ok...🤣

Hmmm, I really wanted to DYX to suffer even more, even the punches from Sang Yanrang were not enough to call it even. Shouhua is too forgiving but with the encouragement of the whole family, I guess she could not resist the calling of "Jiejie, Jiejie"...😂 Plus he's marrying into the family so Shouhua will always be with them!

Chai An stood out today. Still my favorite son-in-law!

OK, now with the potential Yamen (court) case, I guess we will start the 4th sister's story... can't wait! Seeing Shen Yurong was a bit jarring - he's a bit of a stick-in-the-mud but we know he will soften as well.

I'm guessing it is because English is the common language spoken there since it's not only the locals, and the Chinese but also the mercenaries. I just wish that if the show is going to add so much English to the dialogue, then they should at least get it the translation done right.

Cringey, indeed! Like you, I am watching for the couples - they are cute. I wonder if the mercenary and doctor would be an actual pair.

Yeah hard to tell

I’m on the fence about this show. The camera work is not great, the English dialogue is tedious - sometimes the direct translations from Chinese to English just make it awkward and the writing is poor. I almost dropped this show after episode 5 because of bad story writing there plus the introduction of a cliched clingy 3rd party who simply cannot lose.
Still I want to support CZY and LJ so I’ll hang on for the romance. I do like the ML - so observant, gentle and subtle. He will have demons to slay and I’m interested in his journey.
Whoever who styled his and the doctor’s hair should get a pay cut. She or he did them dirty.

Based on spoilers, she may be the first wife of Minister Yu, who was kicked out of the house because of the scheming of the mother of Yu En’er

I’m ok with that ending for other shows but somehow it doesn’t fit the vibe of this show. I don’t want Shouhua to have yet another failed marriage 😭

I don't think DYX will go through with another marriage, especially with that green tea Yu. It's part of his scheme, I assume.

He already showed his true personality where he would only be devoted and committed to one person. If he never gets ShouHua back, he will lead a single life for the rest of his life.
