Does anyone else get the sense that Luo Zhan has special feelings for Li Zan? I know that they are extremely close but somehow there was a scene in ep 17 that made me think that.
Episode 17 gave us such lovely moments—much needed not just by our main couple, but by me as well. After all the tears and angst, this was a much-needed break, and seeing Li Zan smile with genuine happiness made it even better. CZY is incredibly expressive—just through his eyes and smiles, you can instantly tell whether his smile is forced or genuinely sincere.
A little cliched, but I always appreciate the lady in the man's white shirt scene although this time our couple is still on the shy side ;D
Like Li Zan, his father is so kind. I did not connect him to the earlier episode, but it was such a wonderful coincidence!
Continuing with episode 16 I’m very glad that both got to the truth and that she apologized to him, though he…
The bit about her apologizing was important to me. I hate it whenever they make the FLs unreasonable and still get away without acknowledging their wrongdoings. They don't even have the basic courtesy of apologizing.
So far so good. The concept is compelling about women, though still bound by societal constraints, navigate and embrace their sexuality in private. I like the presentation of the three couples - both represent different types of relationships. I am hoping the 3rd couple who are so stiff with each other will eventually find joy in being together.
You mean episode 15? But anyway, Song Ran experienced firsthand how painful words on the internet can be, yet…
Exactly - just being able to open up must be a huge relief. I am so glad that they finally feel comfortable to be truly themselves in front of each other. The romance is going to heat up in the eps 17 and 18!

Yes, both SR an LZ opened up to each other a lot. SR broke down first, so I thought initially that LZ was just going to listen and would choose not to share his pain so that he can take care of her and not burden her instead with his suffering. HOWEVER, I wss pleasantly surprised to watch him also revealing that he was also a wreck and that he was suffering from PTSD.
You mean episode 15? But anyway, Song Ran experienced firsthand how painful words on the internet can be, yet…
Oh dear, I hope you get some sleep very soon!
SR asked Luo Zhan if he thought Jiang Li's death clouded LiZan's judgment and was emotionally affected by Jiang Yu because of his brother. Luo Zhan responded that he was in no position to say because his own feelings and opinions were also biased towards Li Zan.
He then said that if SR thought LiZan could have been blinded by emotions, then wasn't it the same for her? Could she also not be blinded by emotions when it comes to protecting that boy, and that need to protect could also come from guilt?
So Luo Zhan did not really share more about LiZan but it seems that SR already knew that LiZan felt guilty over Jiang Li's death.

Thanks again! :D OK, I'll spoil a bit!
Mainly because she could not protect the children in the East Country, SR was so hell-bent on trying to protect one boy that she thought Jiang Yu (Jiang Li's brother) was bullying. However, it was all one-sided, and she only based her judgment on one incident and what the boy said.
Li Zan asked her not to do anything or write anything yet until he was able to get the truth out of Jiang Yu. However, she made things worse by commenting on the viral video of Jiang Yu hitting the boy.
Li Zan tried to explain to her that her comment made everything worse, making Jiang Yu the victim instead of giving him a fair chance. She lashed out at him at that time, telling him that he should not let Jiang Li's death cloud his judgment, making him so blinded that he could not face reality.
He was really hurt by that, saying that he never thought that she would see him that way.
You need to watch the scenes to really appreciate the emotions conveyed. My spoilers are not doing them justice.
Ep 15 - Song Ran kept asking why no one understood her, and I guess I don't as well. I get that she is in a vulnerable state and she is super focused on one aspect, causing her to lose sight of everything else, but still, it's a bit of a stretch She was so biased towards one person, and to me, she was too quick to react and judge. Based on one incident, really....she undid all the good that Li Zan had done. ;( And then she judged him too. As a reporter, she seemed so unaware of the impact words can have.
Argh, I wish the writing was better.
UPDATED - Ep 16 - After ranting about SR's actions in ep 15, I now feel terrible for her. She was still narrow-minded and unable to get out of her own head space in the beginning. However, she had no support or understanding from her family and faced pressure from everyone.
Thank goodness we have Luo Zhan as the mediator, actually talked some sense into SR.
Finally, progress for our couple...honesty and sharing of heavy emotions between them.
Li Zan, you are my hero, but I wish you would extend some of your kindness and compassion to yourself, as Luo Zhan said.

Looking forward to eps 17 and 18. Seems like the romance is the focus again.

I agree with you, and then the things she said to Li Zan - so hurtful 😭😭😭
