I am enjoying this drama a lot, so I am glad that it is successful! The FL has improved so I hope that more people would give the show a chance.
I think whether or not an actress or actor is successful also depends on the role. For example, I cannot imagine Liu Yi Fei playing the FL in this drama despite being a great actress. Seven Tan may play it perfectly, but I think she has moved beyond playing simple-minded characters. Esther Yu got a lot of hate at first because of her voice which also typecasted her in naive innocent roles but she has gained recognition over time.

Actually Esther Yu has been recognized to be a good actress. Many cannot stand her voice but many have become fans in spite of it.
She won Best Actress of 2023 on the Weibo platform which is a pretty big platform.
I won’t compare the characters themselves since different dramas with different plot lines.

Agree! I started paying attention to him since Intense Love and he just brings his A-game each time. Very charismatic! Even though his visuals are not my usual preference, i find him very attractive in his roles. I think any FL would be lucky to pair with him since he just has that effect!

I think it is because compared to other actresses, she is still pretty bad. I have tried to watch every show she was in so I know she has definitely improved in the crying aspect in this drama.
I agree that people should not be so hard on the actors but reviews and ratings also include an assessment of the acting skills and people are going to critique when there is something to criticize.

Yeah he hasn’t “kai qiao” ( Mandarin for realizing his emotions) 😆 but at least he’s smart enough to realize that Xiu Ming was up to no good.

😒 because of the SML, I watched these last two episodes at 1.5 speed because he was just too annoying.
I really hope that in the next trial, they will make the character for Xiang Yun smarter. It would be nice to see the FL less simple-minded and naive. I want to see more balance instead of just the ML being the smart one each time.

This was such a soothing drama to watch. Yes, there were angsty scenes but the overall experience was just so calm and pleasant to watch.

Evan Lin is such an eye candy and since it's only his second drama, I'll forgive his stiffness in acting lol. I hope that he will act more in more dramas soon. I have always liked Wan Peng and my only complaint is that her kissing has not improved. Haha!

Overall, it was time well spent and I would recommend this show.

Yeah, the Emperor definitely knows more especially about whatever went on between Cang Hai, Xiu Ming and Chu Kong. I hope the show will reveal more soon!
