Whether 8.1 is a bad or good rating - that's subjective and usually it is best to agree to disagree. Rather, I am questioning the objective outcome. Statistically speaking, 8.1 as an overall rating does not make sense when the detailed stats show much higher individual ratings, with the lowest being 8.7 broken down by age group. Of course, MDL could consider other variables for the overall rating but based on my experiences, I have learned not to trust MDL ratings. Many dramas have turned out to be worse or better than what their ratings indicated.
I really need Yin Qi and Shangguan to confess to each other already…slow burn romances all around but at least our main couple know how they feel about each other…
It is inspiring to see the brotherhood among Yin Zheng, Yin Qi and Yin An, and to a certain point, Prince Han. Yin Song may have the second brother as a lackey but he does not have his loyalty. I like that the show has now moved from the women’s stories to the men’s.
Did people actually rate this down to 8.1 or is that MDL doing its thing again? This is in NO way an 8.1 drama

I’m so happy I found this in Netflix today! First episode got me hooked with the story, acting and music. The filming style is great too! I am enjoying the mix of present and flashbacks - so well done！

Ep 17 - love how Yang Hua naturally opened his arms out for a hug. Qin Shi was not quite there yet but we know that will change soon 🥰 And when they were in the closet❣️ I’m enjoying the chemistry ❤️
Has anyone done a collection of Qin Shi’s outfits yet? Love love her style. She dresses like a boss but wears accessories that are surprising but so fitting. Like pretty flower hair clips that complement her business outfits. She’s all tough but girly, especially around Yang Hua.
Watching this for Peter Sheng but I’m struggling a little. The acting is so so and the story flow and dialogue are not very good. I’m intrigued by their past though so I’m going to hang in there.
As much as I love this drama, and all the females...I really wish the FL will grow. I mean, if she keeps showing…
She may be young but she is very intuitive and clever. She reads Yin Zheng well and we can tell she is growing into the partner that can stand proudly by him.
Episodes 25 & 26 - Again, Yin Zheng is my hero, now Prince Qi and Prince An too…they all saved Hao Jia in their own ways! And all mostly for the sake of their wives and their own principles. Best of all, the network of women supporting each other is widening including Madam He and Madam Xinchuan.
