Awww. I was waiting for this to crop back up. The argument that we need the lack of communication in order for there to be a drama. Except there are lots of ways to prolong a drama's plot and not all of them are nearly as absurd as simply never communicating with each other. Many dramas use lack of communication at some point. But it lasts 2, maybe 3 eps. This has been an entire season of "None of the couples communicate. Ever.". And it's lame.
Actually some of the users here have admitted in other boards that they have more than one account that is verified in order to keep the ratings higher. As though the ratings here matter.
But all in all, I am betting quite a few Cutie Pie fans are double dipping in the ratings department. Either that or that many people are just unable to spot the problems with the show and that idea is terrifying.

I am guessing that at some point he traumatized Diao or got him hurt or something. And it was probably lesser than the family makes it out to be but because Yi seems wired to overthink, he lets them use it to leach him for money.

And yes, I signed on for a story of adults coming to be engaged, not this pedo fap-fest. This drama has been one of the least properly contextualized, creepiest BL's I've seen in a LONG time.

Just like the ridiculous back and forth over the definition of consent that happened here weeks ago, people want to twist and wiggle their way around defining Lian and Kuea's relationship as inappropriate because it makes them face the fact that they perv on the idea of older Lian desiring very young Kuea.
I run into this all over. People who dodge or try to redefine hard facts in order to not have to face the fact that they like something that society deems reprehensible in nature.
I don't give a fuck. If you think it's cute that Lian was perving on Kuea well before Kuea was an adult, then you have a problem. It's not my problem, so I don't care if you face up to it or not. But it is a problem. This plot is not only a disorganized mess, it's a moral mine field.

Yes, because of the power dynamics of the age difference at that stage of life. 18 year olds are more impressionable and often not mature enough to stand up for themselves with someone that much older and the older party often chooses younger lovers in that age group for that very reason.
I have a friend I sometimes talk about who is a lifelong military officer in charge of recruitment. And his insight on the military's choices with regards to age of recruitment reflect a lot of the problems with the age gap in this drama. My friend explained to me once that ROTC was a vital intersection for recruitment because youths are not only very impressionable, they are absolutist in their beliefs. So if you can convince someone of something in their teens, then you will play hell dismantling that idea later on. So the US military has youth outreach programs like ROTC to start instilling their values and qualities onto that young mind at a time in development when their sense of self in relation to others is just beginning to form.
He also said that outside of youth programs, they like to recruit off the street from people under the age of 20/21 the most, because before that age, the mind's idea of self identity and sacrifice is more easy to manipulate. In other words, it's a lot easier to convince a 16-18 year old that dying for country is noble, than someone who is over 20.
With this in mind, I found the whole "Preparing Kuea for being Lian's spouse via a longterm and early engagement to be so sleazy. The setup preys on Kuea during a time when he would otherwise be developing a sense of self identity outside of romantic/sexual relationships. It's why grooming is such a big deal. And I hate how prevalent it is in this story, along with Lian's predatory/manipulative behaviors and his sexual emphasis on the length of time he's withheld himself, waiting for Kuea. SO gross.

These relationships had grey areas when the "bottoms" were excruciatingly young. Both of the older characters spent at least some time preparing for lovers who were not even adult yet. CREEPY.
