I thoroughly enjoyed the first two episodes and am already hooked! The plot feels incredibly unique. I've personally never seen anything quite like this. While I’m unsure how realistic any of it might be, I’m just here to enjoy the ride. The production quality is outstanding so far!
The characters also feel fresh, with no clichés in sight yet. I’m aware that both leads are in relationships with others, which might make their romance controversial for some viewers due to its risky and morally complex nature. However, this is a drama and it’s clear that Gong Ryong didn’t truly understand what real love was until meeting Eve. Not that it justifies anything, but you can see him slowly falling for Eve even within these first two episodes.
I’m really excited to see how their romance unfolds. The morally ambiguous angle adds complexity, and I can’t resist a good dose of angst!
Also I love the OST at the end of the eps! Pls tell me, is the OST out yet? I want to listen to it asap :D
I finished this drama a few weeks ago, but I came across so many clips of the lead actors off-screen, variety shows and awards shows these days... that I just had to come here and say, wow! They have even much more chemistry off-drama lol They are so adorable and so considerate and comfortable towards each other. It's just a joy to watch them together. And I'm way too old to ship people, but if these two end up in real life, then I would be more than happy for them! 😂
So excited for this! I won't watch trailers nor read the synopsis... I don't know what this drama is about hahahaha 😂 But Yang Zi and Li Xian reuniting is having me all jiggly lol
Also Tu Song Yan! One of my fave actors, who starred in almost all my fave Cdramas. Haven't seen him in a historical setting before. I'm happy this year starts with them 😊
Was it really necessary to throw in such a makjang plot twist in the finale? 🤦♀️ Personally, I found the last two episodes way too messy...
Overall, I’d say this drama was pretty mediocre. I probably had too high expectations, given the experienced lead actors and the theme of middle-aged romance, which I had hoped would be more mature. While the characters did become less childish after getting together, their behavior before that was quite cringey and annoying.
Even though I stuck with it until the end, I skipped through quite a bit. The comedy just wasn’t my cup of tea. So, why did I finish it? Honestly, I’m not sure... maybe it was still somewhat entertaining, or maybe I just didn’t have anything else to watch.
That said, I’m sure there are people who’ll enjoy it more than I did. So give it a shot and decide for yourself! 😊
They really couldn't have picked an uglier wedding dress for the photoshoot... someone really needs to sue the costume designer or whatever its called....
Everyone's performances are outstanding, but wow... YYS is on another level! He's so deeply immersed in his role that even his voice cracks with raw emotion. It's incredibly sincere and that final scene completely wrecked me.
Also Heo Nam Jun's scene when he identified the victims. That was also incredibly well-acted!
The acting is so good in this drama. I really hope they get more recognition!
Rewatched this and still liking it :D Nowadays almost all romance dramas include thriller or mystery stuff... I miss these oldies with purely romance, comedy and bit of drama... No makjang, but just the right amount of drama :)
Just on my yearly rewatch spree and watching Coffee Prince now... I miss you... 😢 It's been exactly a year today. You will always be missed. Rest in peace ❤️
While I enjoyed the first few episodes, the thriller-mystery part hasn’t kept me engaged so far. Some character behaviors feel too unnatural, making it hard to take the thriller elements seriously.
For instance, why does the stalker move like a cliché 90s horror villain? You know, the kind where the victim is running for their life, yet the “walking” stalker somehow catches up... ridiculous! And let's not talk about the bomb thing. I erased it from my mind lol
Then there’s the assault case in episode 9. You’d expect a heavier emotional aftermath after Lu Yan was drugged and nearly assaulted. Instead, it’s treated surprisingly lighthearted. Immediately following that, we get jealousy/domineering scenes of the two male characters—was that really necessary? Moreover, Lu Yan goes back to work the next day immediately... Her behavior doesn’t really reflect the gravity of the situation.
Speaking as someone who has experienced something similar, I needed days off to recover mentally. Stalking and sexual assault are heavy topics, yet they’re portrayed here with an almost dismissive tone.
I didn’t have high expectations, but the growing indifference to such serious moments and the increasingly ridiculous actions are becoming frustrating. And now the SFL also turned into a jealous makjang villain... my gosh, how cliché can it get?
I think the general tone of the drama in the beginning gave me another vibe, but slowly it turned into clichés...
I really hope there will be a twist and they didn't make Ji Yong a stereotypical jealous SML ... his character was so good and mysterious. His behaviour was always vague and he did not have the "romance" vibe towards our FL...
I really thought he gonna be a support for our leads and the driving force as how the story unfolds, because he had this omniscient monk vibe. I really liked Ji Yong :(
So many annoying characters and now the ones that I liked turned annoying as well. sigh... WHY?! Can't a drama just stay good until the end? :/
Hmm... I really didn't enjoy the latest few episodes. At one point I started to lose interest and didn't care about the plot anymore. Maybe because the focus switched to other characters than the leads, that I simply don't care about. Even if they are part of the big picture, there are so many villains, that it's exhausting. I know they tried to make the villains complex and I usually like villains who are more than "evil for the sake of being evil", but I just don't care about them here lol
Glad, it's over tomorrow. If Song Mo dies, then scriptwriters this year really are twisted and sadists.... This year, there was barely a drama which I enjoyed from beginning til end. Hope next year will be better 😅
Im Chul Soo's drama characters are simply always the best! This actor is such a natural comedian and he elevates almost every drama he stars in. His comedy-relief characters are always hilarious 😂
When he closed the window blinds so dramatically, I've had a good laugh at his petty revenge 😂
You haven't watched Meteor Garden? She also there.
It's been so long that I've forgotten. I've checked my watchlist and I actually also watched her in "Remembrance of Things Past" 😂 My bad... my memory is like a goldfish, but it doesn't change the fact, that she's indeed pretty haha
