Just started this.... Am I the only one who thinks the subs sucks? At least on kisskh. How are y'all watching it? I doubt we'll get better subs in the future, no? :(
Just finished first two episodes... Not really sold. Bit boring and overacting was way too much. Not my kind of humour. FL acting was way over the top sometimes and unnatural and almost every side character felt like a caricature. Does the overacting tone down in future episodes?
But I did like the leads' scenes. And ML special ability is interesting and unique.
So I'm gonna continue nonetheless because Lee Jong Won is beautiful and his eyes are mesmerizing đ I wish he'd pick better scripts. He's too good of an actor for mediocre dramas. The only good drama he starred as a lead was "Knight Flower". Same for Kim Se Jeong. She deserves better scripts too.
Well, enough complaining. I'm watching further now haha :D
Sadly, we'll never know. It was never explained. Big plot hole for me as well...
Well, yeah, but that feels very far-fetched and isnât something viewers should have to "piece together" on their own. Itâs a critical arc that was completely sidelined and handled in a lackluster way.
We never saw Zhao Ruo Shi going through that thought process or arriving to this conclusion logically. Why would he even think that the child in the past was his fatherâs son? Even after seeing that he loved a demon. It could have been anyone. How did he know his father had a child with that demon? Even his father "forgot" about loving a demon and having a child with her. And why would Zhao Ruo Shi assume itâs Ziqi, of all people? Solely because of the hairband? Thatâs such a massive leap. Plus, how old was Zhao Ruo Shi back thenâsix or seven? And weâre supposed to believe he remembers all this? Sorry, but the logic is completely off.
And what about Ziqi? How did he suddenly realize Zhao Ruo Shi's father was his own? There was no reaction from him when they were in the illusion of the Dowager's past. He acted like it had nothing to do with him. But in that scene with Zhao Ruo Shi, he suddenly knows the truth?
I loved this drama, but itâs undeniable that some crucial arcs werenât explained wellâor at all. Take the bracelet, for example. It was repeatedly shown throughout the drama, even up to the ending, but none of the leads ever discussed its significance or powers. It was just brushed aside without proper resolution.
ZYC is still a demon so the ending it's one human, one demon, and one goddess avatar that survive.
True, but he was a human first, so I didn't count him đ His life was still tragic af. Losing his father, big bro, "lil bro" and the guilt of killing his best friend...
My gosh... this was so absolutely heartbreaking. I shouldnât have watched this right before bedânow Iâll be crying myself to sleep đđ
Wow, the acting in those final episodes was phenomenal! Every single actor delivered. The ending was devastating, yet so beautifully done. What an unforgettable journey this series has been.
I already expected a sad ending with nearly everyone meeting their demise, but nonetheless I'm still heartbroken. But I think some deaths were really unnecessary...
Also they really spared no demon, huh? Every one of them had such a tragic fate. Itâs so sad because none of them were inherently evil, it was humanityâs cruelty that pushed them to the brink.
Honestly, Zhao Yuan Zhou reminded me a lot of Tan Tai Jin from TTEOTM. Both sacrificed themselves for humankind, even though humankind didnât deserve their selflessness. At least here the humans know that the "evil demon" sacrificed himself to save them.
Now, how do I recover from this and get some sleep? >_>
Genuine question... what was the grand idea for giving 2nd couple two kiss scenes and our lovely main couple none? I mean... why? Why would you do that, writer?
I just finished binge-watching the last seven episodes and overall, I really enjoyed this drama. The main story, cast, humor and characters were fantastic!
That said, itâs another drama that suffered from a noticeable drop in quality in the second half. Iâd rate episodes 1â20 a solid 10/10, but the rest barely a 7/10. While I liked the ending and its message, it still felt unsatisfying. Couldnât they have given us a proper reunion in the real world? It felt like the writers just said, "Weâre done here â imagine the rest yourself."
Starting with episode 21, the writing became messy and lackluster. It was frustrating how some interesting story arcs were either ignored or barely touched upon, while dull and unimportant subplots were given way too much screen time. I donât understand why so many C-dramas spend so much time on boring stuff instead of focusing on the main story. They couldâve devoted more time to the main couple and their journey and maybe also more time in the real world.
Speaking of romance, the main couple had incredible chemistry and tension early on, but it all fizzled out after their semi-confession and sudden engagement. I donât need kiss scenes to feel the romance, but there was zero progression in their relationship during the later episodes. Despite being engaged, their interactions felt no different than when they were just friends.
Meanwhile, the second couple got all the romantic milestonesâkiss scenes, marriage and so on. Donât get me wrong, I like Yao and Li Fuyi as individual characters, but as a couple, they were painfully boring.
In the end, the drama set high expectations with its first half but failed to meet them in the latter half. I still liked it overall, but it couldâve been so much better.
On a positive note, I loved Ziqi as a character. The actor nailed every expression and nuance! Esther also did an amazing jobâI really enjoyed her performance. đ
He proposed her because he wanted a legal family relationship with Juwon and her dad to take care of them forever,he…
Actually I think since Ziqiu and Haejun are so completely different, the proposals fit their respective characters.
Ziqi was deeply anchored in his loyalty and sense of responsibility toward Jianjian and her father. His solid focus was on family alone. He didn't know what romantic love was.
Haejun, on the other hand, has a very different character arc. Heâs had romantic relationships and a life outside his family. His bond to Juwon is more like the typical ordinary sibling. That's why the comedic way fits as well.

Why did you delete your past comment, if you're so keen of being right? lol No, I don't think you're a Cdrama hater at all, but I just couldn't let that hypocrisy uncommented since you literally said OG made a mistake and the "proposal" of Ziqiu ruined the bond they had in the OG. Now here it's the same, but it's suddenly not a problem anymore.
Why is he confessing so lovely to that cactus?!?! Gosh, these words should've been directed to Gu Yi, because he conveyed his emotional state so well.... Now I'm annoyed at him lol
