He proposed her because he wanted a legal family relationship with Juwon and her dad to take care of them forever,he…
Lol funny seeing you comment that now on other people's comments even though we said the exact same thing about OG drama, but you said it was a mistake the OG drama made, which they did not make here. Well, they did now lol The hypocrisy haha
I'm honestly so lost when it comes to Dai Wen's trauma flashbacks—I can't piece together any theories. We’ve gotten some information from what the psychiatrist mentioned, but that doesn’t fully match with the fragmented glimpses we see of Dai Wen's past. There has to be more going on beneath the surface...
During the elevator scene in ep. 15. There was a quick flash of him as a child, followed by an even shorter glimpse of a picture frame—I almost missed that second image entirely.
It’s fascinating how Gu Yi and Dai Wen seem to be living in two entirely different genres—it's almost comedic! This contrast really stood out in the snow scene for me. Gu Yi was all romantic and dreamy, like she’d stepped out of a romcom, while Dai Wen was stuck in a psychological thriller, having trauma flashbacks. She wanted to kiss him, but emotionally, he was in a completely different world. Same with the birthday surprise.
What makes this so well-crafted is how the story aligns his emotional state with the visuals and tone. In moments where viewers might think, "Aw, so romantic and sweet," he’s actually battling his inner demons. This duality plays out beautifully throughout the series.
That’s why I love the gloomy cinematography—it reflects his mindset perfectly. We’re not watching a romcom because, for him, it’s not one. His world feels more like a dark, suspenseful thriller.
You ar enot alone. I am very disapointed and stopped watching after the prewiew didnt give me any hope. I will…
Yeah... I've also decided to put it on-hold until it's finished. I feel like I have nothing nice left to say anymore. I don't want to add more negative energy haha 🙈
the confusion HJ had, thinking he’d have to marry JW, when all he wanted was to be part of the family legally…
It was also clear in OG drama what his intention was. I don't think any of it was cringe, you maybe didn't empathize with Ziqi's character as much. Ziqi is completely different from Haejun. Ziqi was deeply anchored in his loyalty and sense of responsibility toward Jianjian and her father. His solid focus was on family alone.
Haejun, on the other hand, has a very different character arc. He’s had romantic relationships and a life outside his family. His bond to Juwon is more like the typical ordinary sibling. While Jian Jian was Ziqi's pillar and light. He held her in the highest regard-more than even a real sibling. Ziqi being emotionally indebted was on a whole other level.
Since Hae Jun and Ziqi are totally different and the impact JW/Jianjian had one them. The outlay of that "being real family" part fits their respective characters imo.
But it doesn't make sense. It shows that for VIP there will be episodes 15 | 16 on Nov.15. But they showed ep. 15 today. Is there an updated schedule calendar?
Since that bracelet, I hardly enjoy this drama anymore. Every important and interesting arc went unaddressed with no depth or logic. And I just can't seem to overlook it... Watching the previews don't give me any hope, rather the opposite. We just have 7 episodes left and they spent so much time on other characters and less interesting plots, while giving us zero closure to interesting plot arcs.
Most viewers still seem to enjoy it and I'm sitting here like... how?! Did no one have expectations set after watching the first half of the drama? It was literally perfect before bracelet/marriage plot and then afterwards hardly anything made sense anymore or every important arc was brushed aside...
I guess the writer herself put that damn bracelet on, because I feel like she forgot and lost something! >_<
I have such a one-sided beef with that bracelet. It ruined the drama for me lol
My gosh! Ep. 15 was so good! So emotional! This drama is honestly so good and becomes better with each ep, especially leads scenes. Tbh I enjoy this drama the most from all the airing dramas I watch right now lol
I don’t want to sound like a downer, but the more I get attached to a drama, the more disappointing it feels when it doesn’t meet expectations. The recent episodes just don’t measure up to the excellent writing at the beginning. Each storyline arc had a solid build-up, but the resolutions felt underwhelming, anti-climactic and lacking in depth and logic.
Leads’ Romance: Flat. After the semi-confession and marriage plot, the romance practically vanished. And no, I’m not asking for kiss scenes—romance is so much more than that! One charm of romance is in the transition to becoming a couple, but here, they skipped all that. Yay :)
Marriage Resolution Plot: Flat. Was it even resolved? Nothing was addressed; it just faded out of focus without a proper conclusion. We viewers had a one-sided beef with a bracelet lol
Ziqi’s Birth Identity Reveal: Flat. How did they take such an interesting arc and make it so dull and illogical?! How exactly did Ruo Shi and Ziqi figure out they were half-siblings? How?! Writer, I think you forgot something to tell us...
I still enjoy this drama but each of these arcs could have been handled so much better, imo. I’m curious about the web novel. Are these arcs better resolved there? I'm sad that almost every drama I've watched lately just falls flat in the last quarter 😭💔 I want to give 10/10 ratings again...
Nah thats how they do things in this drama. There will never be an explanation for important things but for stupid…
For real... I'm really sad that this drama became so messy and choppy. Up to mid ep.20 everything was literally perfect, but since that semi-confession after the marriage plot, this drama kinda lost me. Interesting plots are just brushed aside and not explained. This is quite a shame. I liked this drama so much :(
Why does every drama this year go downhill in the last quarter... T-T
Did I miss something? I'm on ep 23 and Zhao Ruo Shi said he knows that Ziqi is his half-brother and Ziqi didn't even seem surprised. He also knows it. Huh? Did I skip something? How would they know that? And why wasn't the bracelet addressed yet?
The last few episodes seem so messy to me. It's like they forgot to fill some leaks...
What's going on with these ratings? There's no way they're authentic. This is a great drama and 90% of the comments here are positive. MDL must be broken! lol
Gu Yi is such a green flag! How you can resist that girl? She is so adorable, attentive and cares so much. She's starting to become one of my fave female leads ❤️
This drama is really good! The current rating is absolutely ridiculous 🙈 The comments are more reliable than the rating. Good that I tried it :D
Just binge-watched up to ep.10 and I can confirm, the current rating is ridiculous 😂 This drama is actually really good. The acting is great and the leads have amazing chemistry.
I guess the only plot that doesn't resonate with me is the office/business stuff. Sometimes it feels like I'm watching different dramas at once, because it doesn't have anything to do with the main plot imo. But Cdramas tend to stretch their dramas with boring work stuff 😅 I just skip some of them.
Everything else is really good and worth a watch! :D
I bursted out laughing seeing Bai Ju in Li Lun attire hahahahahahahaha 😂 Li Lun is such a fashionista lol
During the elevator scene in ep. 15. There was a quick flash of him as a child, followed by an even shorter glimpse of a picture frame—I almost missed that second image entirely.
Anyone have any theories about Dai Wen's past? 😄

Will we still get two eps tomorrow for VIP?
