I don't understand either... Even the novel writer was merciful, even though ML in novel was apparently more evil and didn't deserve a HE, but he got one.
But here ML actually deserved a HE and FL didn't deserve to die like his, but they didn't want to give them a happy ending... Even the CP, who was the most despicable person in this drama, had a more peaceful ending than our leads did. MAKE IT MAKE SENSE! Sadistic screenwriters!
The romance focused audience is the most blind audience that doesnât focus on detail, a destroyer of good ratings…
Sry, but how was this ending more creative or original? It follows the exact same usual massacre of killing likable side characters off in the last episodes and SE for leads I've seen in other dramas lately. What was so creative about it?
A lot of things didn't make sense in this drama, so a HE wouldn't be nonsensical either. Also if I wanted to watch "real life", then I would go watch documentaries lol
I'm not against a SE per se, if it's not forced. But the trope to make the leads as miserable as they can, kill every loved-one off and eventually kill the leads... it's so sadistic lol
Even if it would've been a HE, this drama rapidly lost its momentum the moment the revenge arc was done. Even a HE couldn't have saved it...
Of course no HE for the leads, because that's forbidden in the Chinese historical or Wuxia universe lol Kill them all off! YES! Here we go again lol Sry, but it's just so ridiculous. One can't just watch a good drama without having the same lame ending all over again.
Still don't regret watching this. First half was a masterpiece, lead couple was on fire and acting of leads was amazing!
Neo went through strict diet to meet the requirements of director GJM as he prefers thin ML who can carry his…
They film for so long??!! And with thick layers? As a thin person myself, I would collapse... My gosh, I feel bad for the people who work in this kind of industry. I respect how actors do anything for their craft.
I saw some clips of his other dramas, but I think in this drama, he looks so completely different. I guess it's also part of make-up.
He was literally glowing in "When we were young" haha So his appearance here just caught me off guard đ
I think i remember hmh fans said (correct me ?) gjm asked him to get a strict diet for this demon role, poor boy…
It definitely seems like a lot of weight-loss as well. He was really thin to begin with. I feel bad for him and hope he gets back to a weight he feels comfortable with. I respect the way actors do anything to their body for the craft, but imo he looked much healthier and better before. Still good-looking and great actor for sure. Just have to get used to it :D
Is it the makeup, weight-loss or PS? ML looks unrecognizable to me ... I only watched "When we were young" with him and I loved that drama. I was trippin when I couldn't recognize him here :O I mean... yeah it's been 6 or more years since that drama, but to change that much... I mean, he's still good looking, but he looked absolutely gorgeous in that other drama. Have to get used to this look of his. But it fits the character of his demon role very much :D
I was counting down the days to finally binge episodes 19-24, after being so busy I couldnât catch up sooner. Today was *the* day and I dove in with so much excitement⊠only to be left totally disappointed by how the story unfolded. Itâs like I was riding this incredible high with episodes 1-18, only for it to nosedive, fast.
Not that they were terrible episodes, but they just didnât live up to the magic of the first half. The whole Xiyan storyline felt so sloppily introduced and I honestly couldnât care less. The revenge arc? Rushed and barely satisfying. And donât get me started on the marriage plotâugh, it felt so out of character for Mei Lin and I just hate it.
So many things I didn't like about the latest few episodes, but I will keep it for myself...
I feel like I could just cry⊠How do writers keep letting me down like this? Either I've become too picky and hard to please lately or writers just really don't know how to write stories that actually stay engaging all the way through.
I don't even care if it has a happy ending anymore đ Itâs kind of wild how quickly my attachment to a drama can just vanish. Yesterday, I was on cloud nine, totally obsessed with itâand now, Iâm actually relieved that itâs almost over. Just sad đ„Č
Am I the only one who had to laugh out loud when Yue Qin's eyes widened so dramatically while he read Zigu's letter? hahahaha I couldn't take it serious XD
Main leads are slaying with their acting, but the support roles are a bit weak in comparison. Still enjoyable, but you can see and feel the difference.
loll Wei: Erniu said you've been to the battlefield. JH: I lied to him. I don't dare to kill a chicken. How can I kill men? Wei: I dare... to kill a chicken.
JH face was hilarious when he said "I dare..." hahahaha
Main leads were way too happy in this episode and they talked about their life in the future... Gosh! This will most definitely have a SE đ I tried to be optimistic, but it's really obvious now.
Not gone lie, the crown Prince love for Loumei is too touching, even though heâs evil you can tell his intentions…
Pure? I think I'm watching something else đ He's lying and manipulating her and maybe will take advantage of her while being intoxicated... No "love" in sight in my definition of love đ
What are they doing to Hae Jun's character? This is obviously written to let the ML shine...
Sry, but as Hae Jun's character in OG version was my absolute fave, I'm sad they butchered his character... I knew it won't be the same but he is so much different here, that I actually start to dislike him a bit in this version. Man :'(
Sometimes there will be at least one drama giving us a good memory till the end, right? :')
But here ML actually deserved a HE and FL didn't deserve to die like his, but they didn't want to give them a happy ending...

Haven't watched Wonderland of Love yet. Will definitely do that! :D

The second half was such a boring mess and full of clichés. It ended with the usual massacre with killing every likable character off. And Luo Mei and her love for that mass murderer psycho CP made me sick to my stomach. That was so forced and laughable...
