As much as I loved the leads' scenes the last two episodes, these almost kiss scenes are ridiculous as hell. I can't even count them anymore, that's how many we had until now. Even the latest two episodes had up to 4 or more interruption scenes.
I don't even need them to kiss, they are still cute without them, but those scenes are just ridiculous and annoying at this point. I will take at least 2 stars off the rating because of this bad writing...
The lead couple is so cute and lovely... but tbh the writing is killing all the tension and butterflies I had for them.
To the novel readers, I'm really curious... is the novel written this ridiculous as well?
watched until ep8 but the show am getting really bored. does it get any better?
imo.. not really. But the leads scenes are still cute. I really like the leads. Just skip-watch the drama when its finished and watch the leads and second leads scenes lol
It's incredible how much alike the young and present version of Woo Jeong look like. I swear they could be the same person. And both are good at acting as well. Brillant casting :D
An average drama that you will forget in a few daysThe first five episodes were challenging to watch as I genuinely…
Funny how different people tastes are 😂 I wanted to come here again, because I saw a snippet of this drama on yt and it reminded me of how much I liked it. Then I saw your comment as the most recent comment lol
It's been a year after the release, but I didn't forget it 😁
I’ve binge-watched nine episodes over the past few days and I honestly can't decide if I like it. Most characters are so shameless and despicable that I found myself pausing multiple times just to get through it. The gaslighting, manipulation and sheer lack of morals are hard to stomach 😅 It’s definitely a gripping drama that keeps you on edge, but it’s incredibly frustrating to watch. I really hope these awful characters get what’s coming to them...
I think I've never seen a drama where the writer deliberately separate and interrupt the leads' scenes as often as this one. They always built up to something and then leave us hanging EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. And I don't even just mean their dozen almost kisses... I mean their quality time together. Do the writers even want them together?! It's seems they hate the idea of having just the leads in a scene from beginning till end lol
Like what's the point of hindering Tang Yang to spent the weekend with Jiang Shi Yan with some stupid, out-of-the-blue investigation, where she doesn't even have a minute to contact Jiang Shi Yan, to tell him, that she can't make it? That's just ridiculous! We can't have proper scenes with them without anything or anyone interrupting them. What even was the point of ep. 19?
And it's not the slowness that I don't like, it's the way it's written. The interruption in every single scene and going in circles. I love slow burn and slow dramas. I'm a big fan of slow Cdramas. They have brillant slice-of-life romance dramas out there, so yeah, I can wait until couples get together, even if it's in the last episode, but I need substance for that.
Here it's like the writers don't know how to slow down their relationship in a natural and interesting way, so they always end with the same pattern. I've seen plenty of slow dramas, with even slower or less romance than this, but at least they were written better.
I won't drop this as I like the leads, but I'm so done. I love the leads and their chemistry, but this is one of the most frustrating and annoying writing I've ever seen... Will mostly skip-watch this now.
I genuinely wanted to rate this drama higher because I thoroughly enjoyed almost every episode. The couples were adorable and the romance and comedy were spot on.
But here we go again... the dreaded ending curse that so many dramas fall victim to.
Sigh... is it me getting older or are K-drama writers becoming more uncreative day by day? This show already had fewer episodes, yet they still managed to cram all this unnecessary nonsense into the finale.
Why? Why force all these cliché endings in the last episodes? The ridiculous, pointless breakup, a lead flying abroad, a time jump, misunderstandings, barely any screen time for the leads and a last-minute reunion. Every single trope I’ve come to despise lately.
Is it that hard to be original? This drama was so good, why ruin it?
It felt so cruel for Hae Young to break up with him right after the funeral, basically saying that his feelings and dependence were burdensome. Ugh, I hate that. Ji Uk deserved so much better, but he’s always left behind. And of course, it had to be him chasing after her till the end. It’s just disappointing.
Sorry... I really didn’t want to leave this drama on a bad note, but it's frustrating 😭
Well... overall, it’s a good drama with plenty of fun moments. Lame ending, but what’s new, right? Still, I’m excited for the second lead’s spin-off!
Sigh... this drama really tires me out 😂 If I had to describe this drama in one word: Frustrating.
The friends couple are annoying as hell, giving the worst advices, spreading rumors and misunderstandings left and right. And it's even more frustrating that the leads just suck all their nonsense in without communicating with each other.
Every episode I hope the leads get us a little bit more, but now you can almost 100% expect that something or someone will intrude their scenes together. It's okay, if that happens sometimes, but now it's so overused, that it's ridiculous.
I'm staying for the little bread crumbs they give us... The little tiny awkward tension between the leads was sweet and worth to watch, but I already know, this drama is a one-time watch 😅
Look at the total no. of episodes... it's only 26. And that too 35 min duration. If they start giving 2 epi per…
I actually went in totally cold, so I didn't know anything while binge-watching the first 7 episodes 😂 This also has more short-length-drama vibes and production, so I get their schedule decision. So gonna pause to watch more in one go 😁
Oh no, I started this without checking the broadcast schedule... Just one episode a day for the rest of the drama? Nooo! Why did I start this so early?! Now it's going to be torture waiting for each episode.
I miss the old days of Chinese dramas when they released at least 2 eps a day continuously. Looks like I'll have to put this on hold until more episodes are out 😅
What? What???? For you the leads have only 5 minutes interactions each ep?? No no i don't agree, they have the…
Yeah, maybe I'm exaggerating 😂 But it totally feels like that. But it's true that in ep. 15 they had just 2 minutes and 44 seconds interacting face to face with each other. I timed it lol
I can't pinpoint the exact reason, but this drama kind of lost me in the last two episodes. I’m not entirely sure why... I didn't enjoy those episodes that much and had the urge to skip a lot. It seemed the writers suddenly realized that its genre is comedy as well and now they're pushing conflicts in them to bring the "comedy" out. But it's not funny, it's rather annoying 😅
There are definitely heart-warming and sweet scenes here and there and the acting is still superb, but overall I'm quite sad that I don't enjoy it as much anymore 😭
Strangely enough, I find myself enjoying the BTS clips of the leads more than their scenes in the actual drama. Their off-screen chemistry is incredible, but on-screen, their relationship feels so one-sided. I totally understand Seok Ryu’s perspective—her reasons make sense logically—but Seung Hyo is just so overly expressive that by comparison, Seok Ryu seems lukewarm. And this has been the dynamic for almost the entire show.
Is it just me or do Kdramas often lose their charm in the final episodes lately? I can hardly find a Kdrama I enjoy all the way through anymore 🙈 Has my taste changed that much? What’s going on with me? 😅
One ep a day is so annoying >_< Will they broadcast like this for the rest of the drama? Then I have to pause it, so that I can watch more in one go lol One ep a day is so not enough for this drama, because it's soooo slow, that not a lot happens in one episode haha
tbh I'm mostly interested in the leads and they have maybe 5 minutes interactions each ep. I usually love slow dramas, but this is too slow. By the end of the drama you can actually make a compilation of their scenes together and it will maybe fill 3 hours of the leads interacting ... out of the approx. 30 hours airing time of this drama.
I know this is also slice of life, but the romance is coming too short for me. We're half way through this and there is still the exact same "conflict" between them. They get close. She's pushing him away. She's avoiding him. He's avoiding her. Back and forth... and repeat.
The FL acts too contradicting for me. She's definitely in love with him and upset, when she misunderstands him or he avoids her. She wants more, but is also the one who clearly sets the boundaries and ALWAYS brings up their friendship when he is about to confess. My man is suffering! lol
I might be in the minority here, but the writing feels lame to me. The brother's part, I always skip anyway and after Seung Hyo and Seok Ryu got together, rather after they did the deed, they became a bit boring too.
That actually happens to a lot of drama couples after they get together, so I'm not so surprised about that. But that sudden conflict, with Seok Ryu needing time to herself and then Seung Hyo conveniently having an "emergency," only for her to realize she was wrong and loves him deeply. It's just so... mediocre lol
If Seok Ryu actually ends up going abroad to study, it would be the most cliché and unimaginative writing ever. But honestly, I have a feeling that’s exactly where it’s headed...
I'm also not a fan of the twist where Dan Ho turns out not to be Yeon Do's dad. I would've much preferred if he remained a single father and widow; that would’ve felt more authentic to me. I really hope the mom accepts them while still believing he's the real father, because if she only accepts him after learning the truth, it would feel so distasteful.
That said, I still enjoy Dan Ho and Mo Eum’s relationship the most. I just hope that after the confession, their dynamic doesn’t get boring too.
Shi Yan: "I’m shameless? If I were that shameless, maybe Feng Yuanqi would’ve had a brother with a different surname." lol I loved that 😊
Overall I really loved the conversation they had in ep. 22 ❤️
I don't even need them to kiss, they are still cute without them, but those scenes are just ridiculous and annoying at this point. I will take at least 2 stars off the rating because of this bad writing...
