Just started this and on ep.2 now. I like it so far! Tbh the office stuff is boring to me, but everything else is really good so far! I love the cinematography, the conversations and most of all, the lead couple!

You made it sound like there was any romance implying that he fell for her, even though that is not true at all. And calling it a mistake that the writers here didn't make, implying that they made him fall in the OG. If u know that he didn't fall for her, why write it like that? Then just write it how it actually was.

Agree! I'm also an avid Kdrama fan for almost 15 years and just recently started watching Cdramas. I still love Kdramas, but Cdramas really stepped up their game. There are so many gems! I would've missed so many good dramas :D

Tbh the last two episodes were not what I hoped for after all the angst and misunderstandings. Honestly, I'm disappointed... Reunion was lacking and short and couple scenes were non-existent. I really hoped for a bit more romance after they confessed, but none... It was like the marriage thing never happened and no one cared why Miaomiao was willing to marry Marquis or why she is back again.
Seriously, totally wasted a good opportunity for great romance. Leads have such great chemistry, but writers didn't make use of it. I honestly feel writing was so much better in the beginning.

I actually always thought there was more between the leads way back from the past, because I don't quite get when and how Zhao Yuan Zhou fell in love with her so deeply... Did he already fall in love with her when she was Zhao Wan Er's disciple. Would've been great to have a better understanding of their feelings and where they come from.
Because as of now it feels like they were fated to fall in love just for the sake of the shared Baize Token like the past Baize Goddess and Cheng Huang.

When Wen Xiao entered the Sundial, did she really go back in time 300 years? I thought it was just able to stop time and save memories? I think I didn't really understand that scene. What actually happened when she went in that Sundial and retrieved that divine wood? I thought she would go in and plant that wood, so that they can retrieve it in present time, but she already had it in her hand, when she came back... And I couldn't tell what she meant with "300 years. It was indeed tough"... Did she live all these 300 years? What did she experience in that thing?! I couldn't make out her behavior.

Because tbh I never understood why and when he fell in love with her... If he actually fell in love with her future self, who went back in time, then that would be actually really clever and I could totally understand the deep bond and love between them.
Because the whole time he was in that Peach Blossom House in ep. 21 he imagined Wen Xiao and him being happy in different scenarios. But what if those scenes were actually memories of them and not imagination?
I know I'm probably overthinking and delusional, but that would give a whole new perspective of their love to each other. I'm wrong, am I? lol
Watching ep. 19 right now and I have much more sympathy with the demons than the humans. Almost all demons so far were driven to be evil because of the evil acts of humans... Barely any of them were evil to begin with. When Wen Xiao said demons are more evil, I rolled my eyes...
Also when Li Lun said to Zhao Yuan Zhou "You treat them as friends. But do they really treat you like one of them?"... I totally felt that and had a flashback of that scene when the whole crew did a group hug without him and he stared at them from a distance. That was heartbreaking af and I actually also thought... Zhao Yuan Zhou deserves better friends lol I'm petty like that hahaa
Man... the demons in this drama all have tragic lives... I feel bad for Zhao Yuan Zhou :( He lost so many people and the guilt he lives with must be unbearable.

Just finished ep 15. A question: Why was Cui Shi Jiu surprised or taken aback about the slavery at the mines? Or did I misinterpret her face expression? Her pearl farm also enslaved people the exact same. Or is she unaware about the slavery at the pearl farm? I doubt so. She called Duan Wu slave girl, so she knows pearl farm was also full of slaves. How could she not know the dangers about pearl hunting and that no people would do it voluntary...

Huh? They did stay in touch in the OG, but just grew distant over time. But they did write occasionally and face-timed, but Jian Jian found it awkward after some time, because she didn't have much things to talk about, so she avoided them.
This drama was so not on my radar, but it's my favourite airing drama right now 😂 Not one boring episode and the lead couple is absolutely endearing! I LOVE THEM! It feels like a really good pc game with anime-like characters haha
Haven't seen much of Ding Yu Xi, but he looks so ethereal in this one. I feel that's totally his type of style and character. And Esther's expressions are so adorable. I just want to squeeze her cheeks lol

I'm trying really hard to get into this, but the dubbing is so bad... it's distracting me so much >_< Everything is good so far, but the dubbing. It's such a shame, because I believe all the actors natural voices would be so much better.
