Ep.37 Oh my T-T Father & daughter reunion was so well-made! The emotions of both were so well executed even tho they barely had any scenes together. Shen Li really looked like a little girl when looking at her father π
How he shoved Xing Zhi out of the way tho lol I find it hilarious that his "son-in-law" is thousands of years older than him and also looks older haha
So tragic, and his love for SL was true. But that doesnβt take away the fact that his actions ended up leading…
Yes, totally true! His actions shouldn't be ignored and I also think Shen Li wouldn't be able to kill him. But it was so sad to see him begging for death and carrying out his "wish" himself. My heart still ached for this pitiful character who couldn't live for himself all his life T-T
Ep.35... T-T Poor Mofang... such a tragic character. He was used all his life as a puppet by his own father until he had to kill himself for it to finally stop. I found it really tragic as I really liked him. Despite him going "astray", he was never evil. They really couldn't find a way to at least free him from being possessed by Fu Sheng and his father? He couldn't even live as himself in half of the drama. And every time he was sane he begged someone to kill him, but no one did. He had to do it himself π I have a soft spot for tragic characters like him.
She got down to business real quick lol "What happens in the cave, stays in the cave." π For real, I love the dynamic with this couple. So refreshing and exciting!
i do pick the same opinion , in my teenager year i watched anime so i begin to watch jdrama before kdrama in that…
Yes, that's exactly how my experience was. My interest for East Asian content also results from Manga and Anime, so naturally, I got into Jdramas first. I even feel it was easier back then to watch Jdramas because Japan didn't restrict fansubs/content so religiously.
But as time went on, Korean and Chinese shows became so much easier to access, and honestly, their production quality just soared past what Japan was putting out.
Japan doesn't seem to care much, but for us viewers, it's kinda sad and frustrating. I bet J-Dramas could be way more popular. And who knows how many awesome dramas I've missed out on because of it...
Airing just the first 5 episodes and then leaving us hanging forever with the rest? It's frustrating and I'm losing my interest in this drama :(
I know a lot of people complain about the overall ratings of Jdramas on MDL, but I think a big part of the problem is how hard it is to access Japanese content. It's like Japan isn't interested in reaching international audiences. They're all about exclusivity and it shows.
With most Jdramas, you have to jump through hoops, registering on multiple sites for fansubs, RAWS and whatnot. Some are even hard to access. Most people just want a simple click-and-watch experience. Who has time for all that hassle?
Legal subs for Jdramas, especially while they're airing, are few and far between. The hype on sites like MDL usually revolves around airing dramas, but that's rare for Jdramas because of the long wait for subs.
And then if it is on Netflix like here, they are messing up the schedule and killing people's interest.
J-Dramas will never get the recognition they deserve internationally because they're not pushing for it. I respect their desire to remain exclusive, but it's still frustrating and viewers here shouldn't be surprised if on sites like MDL the overall viewership and ratings are low on J-Content.
I love how possessive XZ became but boy ainβt that a red flag that he doesnβt let SL leave? but wow Iβm…
I understand him to some degree, because Shen Li can be reckless, but I also thought that was obsessive and red flag. It's actually the first time I'm disappointed in him... he never acted like the typical "red flag" ML but then he did... I hope the imprisonment isn't going on for too long. It made me dislike him at that point.
Whether he wants it or not, but Shen Li is a warrior, a leader and lives for her folk as well. She's not his bird to be caged and hold safe >_<
Just finished the first two episodes and I can already tell that I will like this a lot! The story is so interesting how all these spoilt ladies of Hua Family will now try to survive without their status and luxury and make a living for themselves. That's such a cool premise in this kind of historical setting! I can't wait how the struggle will bring all these character developments out of them.
I bet grandma gonna be grateful now that Hua Zhi educated herself vastly and that will change her attitude towards her π
Xing Zhi looks incredibly handsome in black attire! Lin Geng Xin's beauty never fails to amaze me. This is the first drama I've watched of him, and I'm completely mesmerized by his acting and stunning appearance π Just take a look at his face! It's flawless, almost as if sculpted from stone.
While I also love "flower boy" actors, there's something about masculine actors like Lin Geng Xin that evokes a whole different set of feelings in me hahaha π
Just started ep 29 and totally random, but I LOVED that she offered him her cloak in the Snow Mountain, because she is a phoenix and doesn't feel cold easily. And he didn't refuse at all, he just let her drape the cloak around him lovingly and cuddled into it. I'm just so in awe about how there are no typical gender roles between them.
Even this little scene just made me love this couple even more!
I started this because of all the good comments, but I'm on ep 3 and not really sure if I want to watch this further. Is it getting better? Which episodes did u enjoy the most so far? Maybe I'm just not there yet...
I have the feeling a big part of the leads development from strangers to "friends" went missing. I was hella confused how they acted so close after that weird first meeting in the toilet cabin. It's like I missed episodes in between first meeting and the next scene they had, where she got drugged and assaulted him. Am I the only one who felt the transition from strangers to "friends" was weird and undeveloped?

And the background music is horrible... π
