I'm trying so so so so so hard to like this but I am just not π
It's rare to see a comment like this, so I thought I was the only one π It's not bad, but also not really good for me. The amount of screen time for support cast, who mostly don't have any likable personalities and are not funny at all for "comedy-relief-characters" is too much for me. I actually skip most parts of them, especially Hyun Woo's family side.
The revenge part of the infiltrating characters and Hae In's dumb family members is also too much and not to my liking. Seems like heavy makjang is popular in 16 eps drama lengths again...
It's like a weekend makjang drama with lots of unlikable characters, except that it has higher quality production and popular lead actors. I actually find the premise interesting and stick for it for the leads' story, but the love story is also not that compelling.
I guess I never recovered from the "funny" comedic part, when Hyun Woo was over-the- moon-happy, when he heard that his wife is terminal ill and will soon die, made him manipulate her, so that he can inheritate her wealth, and now they want to make us believe, that he's deadly in love with her lol
But I will try to overlook that aspect, because the angst is overall good. I love angst and the acting is good, so I'm sticking to that to enjoy the drama π
It's really hard to resist the urge to watch previews... I want to watch, but I also don't want to, because I love going in blind lol Anyway, I'm really excited for today's ep! β€οΈ
As much as I loved the chemistry the leads had in S2, S1 just hits different for me and I loved the unique dynamic the leads had in S1. I miss them! π Maybe time to rewatch this gem to see our Master and disciple couple again β€οΈ
This is what I love about ZLY, she chooses really strong female characters, she doesnβt want to be a damsel…
I wanted to watch Princess Agent because I love ZLY here, but according to the comments, the ending is not really good and writers messed it up :( What do you say? Is it still worthy to watch?
My gosh! Just halfway of ep 16, but I had to stop and just wanted so say: I LOVE THIS POWER COUPLE SO MUCH! β€οΈπ
Even tho I'm not a big fan of Xianxia fight scenes, I really like them here. It's well-made and exciting! Loved the fight scenes at Fusheng Sect and Xing Zhi is so powerful. I have the feeling we've seen just the iceberg of his godly skills.
Also Shen Li is such a badass FL! I LOVE LOVE LOVE HER! She's not goody-goody and kills if it's necessary. The last time I was so captivated by a FL was Ren Ru Yi in "A Journey to Love". Pls recommend me good dramas with female leads like them!
Of all the airing dramas I'm watching right now, I enjoy this the most! β€οΈ While I rarely enjoy Xianxia, can't stand most Chinese dubbing and have a hard time with heavy CGI, I'm really surprised this is so much to my liking! π
That's why it's always good to try dramas out first, even if it's not the genre I usually like π I absolutely love our main leads. FL is my fave character in this drama! She is such a strong, independent and lovable character. I even enjoyed the scenes so much, when she was a chicken "cough", I mean in her original form hahaha
And our ML is such a peculiar character. It's absolutely hilarious how he is so serious, while being so unserious! I actually think this kind of personality fits so well for a divine god. I guess it's a character you either like or don't like, because he's kind of unique.
There are still so many episodes. I'm curious if it will be able to hold my interest. But as of now, I'm really happy about it π
Hmm... I don't think so. Romance is a popular genre indeed, but look at the top shows with highest rating on MDL.…
I'm talking not specifically about Cdramas. But for Cdramas there are also Mysterious Lotus Book and Untamed. (Even tho Untamed original is based on BL, it's not really BL in the drama) Is BL even allowed in Chinese dramas? π
For Korean dramas there is no romance in Move to Heaven, Weak Hero Class 1 and My Mister.
The other dramas do have romance as a subplot, sometimes lighter, sometimes heavier. I wouldn't say they are mainly romance centered tho. Hospital playlist for example is slice of life with slight romance.
The fully only heavy romance dramas in top 20 are Hidden Love, When I fly towards you and maybe Love like the galaxy for me π
Itβs been my observation that the audience that rates dramas on this platform is unnecessarily harsh (imo) on…
Hmm... I don't think so. Romance is a popular genre indeed, but look at the top shows with highest rating on MDL. The first 20 dramas on MDL top shows. Almost all of them are dramas which has romance just as a subplot or no romance at all.
Yes, romance is the most popular genre. That's why there are almost just romance dramas on "Most Popular shows" list with highest viewer count. But if you go to the list with the best ratings "Top shows", you can see a lot of dramas are on the highest, which are not fully romances.
I actually think MDL viewers are too generous all around π 7.0 stars on MDL equals already "bad drama", even tho 7.0 is not far from 10...
I will put this drama on-hold until all episodes are aired π But I will definitely come every week to read the comments! I'm enjoying them so much more than the actual drama hahaha π
Rewatching for the fourth time right now... I rewatch this drama almost yearly, because it's such a comfort romance drama to me. Jing Jing and Yu Tu are one of my fave drama couples and I just love their journey so much. I still find it so sweet and lovely even tho I watched it so many times.
I really wish we would get more couples who are still so enjoyable after they get together. Why is it so hard to write couples who are still so interesting during their dating era? Either they get cringe or boring...
The revenge part of the infiltrating characters and Hae In's dumb family members is also too much and not to my liking. Seems like heavy makjang is popular in 16 eps drama lengths again...

It's a serious crime of torturing that we get just one ep today and tomorrow... ep 23 felt like 5 minutes to me.
"Why?"
"Because... Because when I see you, I'm blind to all other colors."
Gosh, how swoon worthy is that love expression? π₯°
