Why? Its not like she works for the coast guard or anything.
In Germany it is mandatory to be able to swim as a police officer.
Upon research I found out that it's not necessarily mandatory in Korea everywhere, but there are mandatory swimming lessons at almost all of the National Police Universities, so it's quite unlikely that she wouldn't be able to but... still possible...

I'm loving this drama right now! Never would've thought that, because I really really didn't like the beginning 😂
While I liked other weekend dramas in the beginning more, I kinda lost interest now, while this gets better and better after ep 7. Usually it's the other way around for Kdramas lately, but this got better with every episode :)

I've binge-watched 4 eps now. Thanks to aoharusubs for subbing this so well! Fansubbers really are the saviour of Jdramas for me! ❤️😭 It's sad that it's still so hard to access Jdramas unlike other east-asian dramas when they are airing, but I'm even more grateful to Fansubbers because their subs are always so good! Even Netflix or Disney don't bring this kind of quality subs imo.

I've really loved those 4 eps! As I'm more an avid Kdrama watcher and speak/understand Korean as well, it's so refreshing to see Japanese and Korean culture, language & food mixed together. I would totally watch more of these kind of culture mixes. It's really entertaining!!

Chae Jong Hyeop is such a great fit in this. He's known as the green Flag in Kdramas and he is also living by his nickname in Jdramas I guess haha 😂 I don't understand Japanese as much as Korean, but I think he's doing a great job with the language and fitting into a Jdrama quite well.

The leads are just too cute together! I think they fit really well and their chaotic energy matches. I also love the comedy!

Romantic Jdramas usually have a really strong start for me, because they have a knack for developing genuine and interesting couples... But sadly almost all romantic Jdramas go by the same formula in the end. I just hope it won't be the same here 😢

Looking forward to next episodes! I really want to watch further, but machine-translated subs are just not worthy any drama and I'm gladly patiently waiting for better subs :D

It felt more sincere in the first two episodes but something was definitely lost post timeskip. Like at this point…
Agree. I feel we would've felt so much more emotions, if the writers showed us how deep their friendship is, even if it's not 100% genuine from both sides.
Because I know there will be ultimate betrayal.... but I won't feel a thing, because the writers failed to show the friendship beforehand :/

Well, I see the first 4 episodes as introduction. Hopefully it gets better :))

I fully agree with your review... it's only been 4 episodes and none of their motives are fully clear, except…
Yes, exactly! The motives are not clear and lacking. Maybe we will get to the big picture later, but as of now, it's hard to root for any character. I'm really curious what Tae Oh's real motive is.

I don't care for any romance, because I don't see genuine affection in any pairing, so there is also nothing to root for in that department. I just hope they won't bring forced romance into this. I love romance otherwise, but not forced one, where I don't understand where the feelings came from.

I see quite some shipping comments, but personally, I haven't found myself invested in any romantic pairings because the writers failed to make me like any potential ship, but maybe that was also their intention, because this is no romance drama after all.

However I just feel they could’ve written better how two smart guys fell for that entitled FL. If Tae Oh is still pining after her a decade later, then the writers need lots of flashbacks to make me comprehend his attachment. I don't even know why he fell for her in the first place.

And In Ha just seemed to like her because Tae Oh was interested in her. Well, what a really great „friend“ he is lol

I feel bad for In Ha’s circumstances and upbringing, but I find it hard to warm up to him. He’s still acts superior to Tae Oh and wants everything handed to him on a silver platter. You can feel it every time he points his finger at Tae Oh, when he is enraged. Especially since this gesture is considered even more disrespectful in Asia. I feel this is also getting high-lighted with the camera work/edit...
Well... Tae Oh doesn't seem sincere as well, so I guess I don't need to feel bad for either of them.

As for Hye Won. I also can't seem to like her, but the writers never showed any likable qualities in her, so I guess it's not a character we should root for. Maybe pity her for her problematic background, but that's about it.
I also don't get how she is suddenly part of that grand plan after 10 years and why she so eager to see Kangoh's downfall... I don't get her motivation behind that at all.

In terms of acting, while I don't have major issues with it, I do believe a more seasoned actress could have brought more depth to Hye Won's character. It's a challenging role, especially for a newcomer, and it feels like it might be too much for a rookie actress to fully grasp and portray effectively.

So, just binge-watched the first four episodes. It’s definitely not bad, but also not making me eager to watch next episodes that much.

I still have a hard time to get emotionally attached to the characters and root for them.
All relationships are pretty pretentious. I don’t think there is any genuine relationship in this drama. I hoped there would be real friendship between Tae Oh and In Ha, but it’s obvious both parties use one another and there is hardly sincerity.

The most interesting relationship for me is boss and "right arm" Tae Oh and Chairman Kang Joong Mo so far lol

Is a fansubber subbing this? I just find machine translated subs. Be it on HiTV or BiliBili. I really want to enjoy this drama to the fully T-T And it's not on Netflix in my country either...

No doubt Shin Sae Kyeong is really a good actress. If you have doubts look at run on drama. She nails that character…
She's not a bad actress, but there are roles which suit her very well and vice versa. Her Run On character was such a good fit for her, but she rarely plays quirky, unique roles like that. I also liked her in "The Girl Who Sees Scents".

I'm enjoying this drama and I'm hopeful it maintains this level of enjoyment! 😄 I've noticed that nowadays, K-dramas with 12 episodes seem to be better, as it appears that writers struggle to sustain the quality over 16 episodes, often leading to the downfall of the drama.

From what I've gathered in the comments, it seems like everyone is in agreement about how likable the FL is, and her acting is exceptionally good! I totally agree.
There's something about her performance that feels incredibly genuine and effortless. It reminds me of the acting style of Gong Hyo Jin. Both actresses have a knack for immersing viewers in their characters with a natural, unforced charm. It's refreshing, not exaggerated and simply a joy to watch. And she's even still a rookie actress, so I'm impressed!

I already liked her in the movie "Nothing Serious", so I hope she gets more lead roles in the future.

Finally brought myself to watch the last episodes, because I didn’t want this to be over and I never would’ve thought to get a happy ending in this drama! 😭❤️ I’m so happy! Although their future together seem uncertain, it was a sweet ending, because they vowed to stay together. Him calling her name finally was soooo beautiful. Gosh! I love the new humming OST… it made every scene more romantic.

I really enjoyed this drama a lot and it’s been some time that I loved a Sageuk as much as this one. The beginning was really strong and left a good impression on me. Maybe the middle part was a bit dragging, but never enough to make me dislike this drama at one point.

Also Jo Jung Seok is a brillant actor! I really hope we don’t have to wait years again for another drama with him. He was the best part of this drama for me. Also his gaze sometimes looks as if he really whole-heartedly loves his counterpart. As I’m a big romantic fan, I just have a soft spot for soft gazes like that.

Overall, really amazing drama! I actually don’t have anything to complain. There are so many negativ comments, but I really just loved this drama. I wanted to read some comments in here, but I don't want to spoil my good mood, because more people seems to be disappointed rather than liking the ending.. Well, I liked it ❤️

Literally MDL is the most toxic site I have ever visited :’) Every comment section is filled with hate comments.…
On what kind of fluffy puff sites are you usually if this is the most toxic? 😂 Never tried Instagram or Twitter before? lol
I actually don't see anything toxic if people just speak their opinion about the drama itself. Be it positive or negative. If it's about unrelated stuff to the drama (actors private life etc.), or clearly trolls, then that's another thing.

But here I just saw comments related to this drama. This is what a community site about dramas is about. People speaking their mind about it. Also a popular drama like this with a lot of viewers will generate a lot of opinions. It's weird to call everyone a "hater" if they didn't like an episode or the direction a drama took, just because they don't share your opinion or find faults in this drama. I don't see anything wrong in viewers having expectations, being disappointed and expressing it. Even if it's "just" a romcom... People don't need to have low expectations just because it's a romcom.

But don't expect the comment section of a popular drama with approx 28.500 viewers on MDL to be just flowers and rainbows...

I recommend "Knight Flower" comment section, if u want an overall positive comment section. Also the drama is really good, so highly recommended!!! 😊

I gotta say I didn't like the first two episodes and then put it on hold... The characters annoyed me too much. But then I started to watch from ep. 7 because I saw some snippets on YT, which looked interesting, so I thought I'd just jump into it. And I'm really enjoying it right now lol
I skipped ep 3-6, but I don't really feel like I missed out on anything important 😂

But I really like it now! Todays episode was really good and creative. I also enjoy the bonus clips... Considering to watch those eps I missed now, but I hated the character dynamics back then... You think I missed out on some good scenes/episodes? 😅
