Just started this and I'm surprised how great the cinematography with some of these short-lengths dramas are! This one, Butterflied Lover and more. If they upped their dubbing game as well, then they would definitely surpass long dramas in production quality by a significant margin. They already do to some extent, because good dubbing is also rare even with long Cdramas.
actually his follow up to AoS was death's game and he's phenomenal in it so if you're disappointed just go watch…
I watched it already and loved it! But in my comment I said comeback as a main lead. He was support/guest role in Death's game only appearing in few eps.
I'm really bummed out that Jae Wook's comeback drama as ML after "AOS" turned out to be this one. I wish he'd be more careful in choosing scripts for his future projects.
Makes me wonder if actors read the whole script before signing on, or if they just glance at the first few episodes or a summary. Or maybe it's his company calling the shots? His other drama "DDSSLLS" also started off strong but went totally bonkers towards the end.
I'm a huge fan of Jae Wook's acting, but it's a bummer that "AOS" remains his only standout leading role so far. And considering he hasn't done his military service yet, I think it's pretty important for him to shore up his career before taking off for almost two years. I'm really hoping "Hong Rang" will be better.
I'm not the type to stick around just for the actor, so I've put this drama on-hold and just catch up through weekly comments.
The ratings got even worse than expected. I guess it's because people had high expectation and therefore more disappointment built up. The premise sounded so promising, great cast (well, not all lol) and high production value and still fell flat on almost every count.
It's pretty rare to see a drama with such widespread hate-watching engagement. Must be quite the experience to join in on the collective frustration and disappointment while watching. It's funny how sometimes, sharing in the negativity can bring its own kind of enjoyment lol π
Cha Joo Ik's and Tak Dong Kyung's colleagues/boss dynamic was the most fun out of all relationships in this drama. Their scenes and bickering was hilarious :D
Yeah, you could say that ep 24 was partly a filler episode with lots of flashbacks, but I still enjoyed it a lot.β¨Even in the "angst phase" of the drama, it still brings in some light-hearted moments. I just love this drama to it bits. I think it will become my all-time favorite Xianxia drama if it keeps being this good.β¨
I found it hilarious how Youlan βbinge-watchedβ through Fu Rongs memories of Xing Zhi and Shen Li like it was a drama. She actually became a fangirl, shipping them just like us, representing the viewer hahahaβ¨β¨π
This is how your write excellent side characters. They are annoying and still lovable haha :D I mean everyone in Divine Realm is a menace and I still like them somehow hahaha
In some countries, like Germany, where I live, was a time change to summer time. MDL didn't adjust the time difference in their countdown yet for these countries :)
For me I need a miracle-happy-ending. Iβm not averse to sad ending btw, in fact, I love it when done right as…
You have some really valid points π I guess I can imagine both endings, but still both endings would be cliche for me. I just hope they will make the miracle a little bit more believable. As of now she is regressing and no therapy is helping. But okay, a miracle is a miracle π€·ββοΈ
it'll be a lovely, realistic ending. but this would only happen in western dramas lol it'll probably never happen…
I actually liked Moon Lovers ending π But I also would've liked it if their reincarnations actually met in the present time like in the original it was intended, but I liked it that way as well :D
Woah Woah, calm down. Why so aggressive tho? π Yes, it's a cliche American ending lol But I'm curious how this will actually end, because a miracle and them living happily-ever-after would be cliche as well π
Am I the only one who's not wishing for a miracle-happy-ending, where Hae In lives on? π
A good ending for me, would be, Hae In and Hyun Woo reconcile, work out their differences, they spent Hae In's last remaining days full of love and affection. Hae In dies in Hyun Woo's and her familiy's presence, knowing she's not alone and a lot of people actually mourn for her. Hyun Woo finally escaping the Queen's dungeon and lives on. Marries a nice lady and starts a family with her. Then he's old and on his deathbed and sees Hae In in his last moments and she is welcoming him to heaven as an angel, just like she said, she would lol
I actually really liked that conversation they had. It was sweet and lovely for me β€οΈ
***Yes, it's total western cliche ending hahaha π But a miracle and living happily-ever-after would be cliche as well for me.
It's rare to see a comment like this, so I thought I was the only one π It's not bad, but also not really good…
I already said in the first comment, that I will overlook this aspect and just focus on the angst and acting. If I couldn't overlook this, then I would've dropped this drama already. It won't make me root for a happy-ending for them tho π

Yea, might be, but it didn't help me to root for the love of the leads π It's just how I feel about the couple, so no explanation will make me believe that's how you would act towards a person you actually deeply love, when you hear they are dying. It might be dark humor, but it's affecting how I feel about the leads' love story regardless. I actually like dark humor otherwise, but that's just dark for me lol

I miss Xiang Liu π’ ok bye π
