Oh yessss! I'm loving this drama right now! This and Knight Flower are my faves at the moment. And both air on the weekend. I'm soooo happy they don't postpone it because of Lunar New Year. Historical dramas are the best right now ❤️
Guess I'm allergic to too much sweetness lol I just have to skip some scenes, because it's too awkward and cringe for me, making me uncomfortable... Maybe there is something wrong with me, but I just can't handle it 😂
With Lin Yi Yang's tempo, they would be married with two kids in a few eps haha 😂
It's understandable that Yin Guo still shies away from physical intimacy. She's pretty young and they actually don't really know each other for that long and have been together for not even a full week. Also Asian society is much more conservative. But even for me as a European, he's quite fast lol But it's good that Yiyang respects the boundaries she set and pulls back when she is uncomfortable. So far they are intense hahaha But I hope to see them have more full length conversations as well 😂
I liked this drama overall and really, really loved the leads... but it's so disappointing that Jdramas always resort to the exact same ending formular. They write such beautiful characters with natural and beautiful development, just to end it with the same lame ending every time. I just don't get it. Why is it always the same pattern? Misunderstandings. Horrible communication. Someone flying abroad. Time jump. Last minute reunion. If I watch a Japanese romance drama, I always know what awaits me. It's the same ending with different characters and stories, but exactly the same pattern. It doesn't even surprise me anymore. It's just disappointing, especially if I loved the couple as much as I did here.
I also didn't like how there was absolutely no consequence for Seira's manipulative behavior in the end. It's like they just had to butcher up her character to force a misunderstanding between the leads. Just for her to correct her mistake, when it was too late. But she didn't even get a slap on the wrist... yes, she is mentally unstable, but why do those characters always never get consequences for their manipulative behavior?
I just think there was so much potential... but well...it was still good, but could've been better.
Did Yi Zhi develop a masochistic liking after Mai held him captive and treated him roughly? lol
YZ: „I don’t know why. You felt like another person and treated me very rude. I felt the tension and excitement.“ Mai: „Sorry, I didn’t tell you. Because I was afraid that you couldn’t handle it well.“ YZ: „Don’t tell me next time. It was not bad.“ Hahaha 😂
Also Mai being creeped out at Yi Zhi making subtle moves on her. „Don’t look at me like that. It’s creepy.“ I'm really enjoying their chaotic dynamic and interactions so far 😄
I know I already said it, but I just LOOOOVE to scroll down and read all the comments about how pleased and excited everyone about this drama is 😂 Love to come here in midweek to read comments~~

If the war aspect is as well-made as in the first episodes, then I don't mind if the bigger focus will be on it. Still hope for a good portion of romance or companionship 😊 Maybe they will dive more into romance in the drama to make it more "viewer-friendly" lol

Ah, I see. I didn't read the synopsis or comments yet and went in cold, so I didn't know that. As of now Yi Zhi felt like the ML to me in aspect of screen-time and backstory.
I'm curious how the romance will unfold. The reverse harem with 1 FL and 3 ML reminds me of Lost You Forever and I'm looking forward to it 😊 I still don't have a ML I'm rooting for here, so I hope I won't get my heart broken like in LYF haha 😂
the whole speech about captivation and then realizing that the title is ‘captivating the king’ 🫨
Oh right, I didn't realize it before! I thought the title meant it more in the romantic aspect of captivation, but it also conveys a sense of being imprisoned/captivated of some form. That's actually clever and brillant! 😁
But he didn't have time... the bomb went off. It's actually unrealistic Bale survived all that anyway, but well,…
A gunshot in the eye, a knife stab near the heart/lungs and an explosion lol Maybe he's part cyborg now. Wouldn't surprise me with all the tech/robot inventions shown so far 😂
Is (Kim Jong Bae) the father of the SML killed or injured?
I think everyone was pretty surprised that his character died so early on, because he is a well-known and amazing actor. But it had a good impact imo, where nothing in this drama is impossible and everything can happen anytime, leaving one on edge, while watching :)
I'm so over these dramas where the woman dresses like a man but she obviously looks, acts and talks like a woman.…
I agree with FL's questionable disguise, but that stands as the only aspect that doesn't quite resonate with me in this drama. Thus far, everything else has been executed exceptionally well!
I think the survival of her falling into the waters was pretty realistic compared to the ones of people falling off a high cliff, which happens most of the time. The cut on her back didn't have to be fatal and she didn't fall from somewhere high, so this is definitely something one can survive.
Also if the ML did a 360° turn, then he would've been the same.... you meant 180°.... His "change" or I'd rather call it "act" is actually understandable. He obviously doesn't care for the throne one bit, but wants to find the murderer behind his brother's death and I'm pretty sure he will reign as a King until his nephew gets to the age, he can rightfully take the throne.
If he let his toddler nephew take the throne... u think he would've survived another day? He has to be ruthless and calculative to be able to take the throne and find the people who were behind the treason. I actually think this is something they've done very right in terms of being "realistic". It would've been unrealistic for him to stay righteous and idealistic. He has to make sacrifices. Even if it's something he will regret or get hate for... like the sentence he put on FL and her companions. imo he tried to save them from a death sentence, they could've easily gotten.
And we didn't see yet how FL is going to infiltrate the palace, so why judge beforehand?
“As much as I want Jinman to be alive, it would make no sense for him to put his niece in so much danger”If…
Yeah, I also believe he would be able to put Jian through this, because he just is crazy like that lol
And when she is in serious danger, there is always someone showing up. The way she fought with that guy in ep 5 and then suddenly Pasin showed up, when she was on the verge of losing... Don't think that is a coincidence. Jinman is watching o_O
