I guess I have to be a Deng Wei fan or a novel reader if I want to be able to ship TSJ and XY. I really tried to like them together, but why do I feel that their relationship is so unbalanced? She's always sulking and being upset and him always indulging,giving in to everything she does and says and coaxing her with rare gifts. It's really getting boring... Let them please have a full-fledged conversation for once, without their unsteady relationship being the main topic of all their conversations.
Is that ever gonna change? Will he lose his temper even once, confront her and not be sooo soft? I also like soft ML's but, sometimes enough is enough. I think arguing is actually pretty healthy in a relationship. If I would've seen my gf putting her hand on another man's chest, then I'd have at least confronted her about it. I just want to see some action from his side. All their relationship until now has been one-sided quarrels from XY's side. Xiaoyao really be having the most beautiful and fun "dates" with Xiang Liu/FFB. He showed her pretty moon views, the ocean views and now he's giving her an exciting round tour in Xiyan Town. Is it just me or do they have the most interactions together? They really be playing with our hearts huh? T-T
Xiaoyao didn't really have fun most of her life. Either she was waiting, imprisoned or in hiding ... I actually think someone like XL is pretty compatible with Xiaoyao. She's tired of waiting, easily bored, highly curious and open for new challenges and adventures. And he is fun to be around with be it as XL or FFB.
A lot of people say that he is red flag while TSJ is the green flag... but is it really like that? Yes, XL is no green flag. But someone like TSJ isn't a green flag either imo. I mean she said that she would wait for him, but what kind of development did he make so far to reassure her? His fiancee is still on his neck with grandma saying he should treat her nice like a sister...bullsh*t.. he's a people pleaser and can't acknowledge his gf in public nor can't he reject his fiancee in public, which just hurts XY even more. I mean, just imagine, you fall in love with someone, but he says..."Wait 5 years for me. I'm still engaged and need to sort things out." Were those first romance sparks from his side? Is he slowly seeing her more than a cousin/sister? Or did he just get nostalgic seeing her back in her original form? Either way, I repeated the scene several times, because it was so beautiful! Oh gosh... his eyes! He just has those eyes! He's second in my shipping ranking hahah
I don't know why but I guess I ship her the least with Tu Shan Jing... I like Tu Shan Jing. He's sweet, has beautiful eyes too and I enjoyed their beginning scenes a lot. But how do I say this.. I find them rather "boring"? now. Of course, I still like their scenes, but I don't repeat them unlike the other MLs scenes with her. Tu Shan Jing is kinda too passive, self conscious, always just say "yes and amen" to everything Xiaoyao says... I feel like he doesn't have a back-bone and is rather weak. Also Xiaoyao and Tu Shan Jing didn't really have a long conversation so far. She's always bickering and talking a lot with the other MLs, so I can't help but compare. Will his character make progress or is that just the way he is and stays that way?
I'm curious how her interactions with the fourth ML will be. He also seems to be rather strong-minded and articulate even with the little scenes we had with him.

Unlike other comments the first episode didn't really catch me... It kinda bore me and the comedy is lame or just not my cup of tea. But I have the feeling most rom-coms have lame comedy with comic-relief support roles to make it "funny", so I didn't expect anything beforehand in that aspect.
But the overall plot is interesting. So looking forward to the second episode :) Now that the leads met, I bet it's gonna get more exciting.

Finally a revelation scene done right! I really anticipated this scene and was not disappointed. I love how subtle it was but at the same time intense with surfacing emotions between Xiaoyao, Cang Xuan and the King of Hao Ling. I could feel the guilt, regret and sorrow.
I think I understand why Xiaoyao tries so hard to avoid her family and hides behind her masquerade. She thinks she was abandoned by her family. She suffered horribly for 300 years, alone and no family member seemed in search for her. Maybe that's what she thinks... I'd also think if my powerful family would have searched for me desperately, they would've found me right? We still don't really know what happened and how she got lost, but I guess, I understand her feelings even with the little background we had.
I have to say I'm really impressed by Yang Zi! I saw two other dramas with her and she didn't really impress me back then, but these were rom-coms, so I guess there is a limit to what you can show... but wow... her acting here is AMAZING! She absolutely slaying! She's incredible natural and expressive. And I'm so in love with Xiaoyao's character. I hope she doesn't change drastically after becoming the princess again.
Also Zhang Wan Yi!! They really found a gem of an actor. Why haven't I seen him in other dramas yet? I just started watching "The Bond" for him. His eyes!!!! He has incredible beautiful eyes. I have a thing for expressive eyes and he definitely has extremely expressive eyes. I'm just completely head over heels for his gaze. The guilt and regret suits him lol I can't wait for tomorrow and how they're gonna make up!
