A lot of people would be dead if being selfish meant that you should die.
I’m not saying those who are selfish should die. I’m just saying the cousin got where she was had a little nice life because of Xiao Qiao’s sacrifice, but in the end she failed Xiao Qiao and look what happened. Their relationship is distant. She’s no different from her grandfather who screwed over the Wei family. If thought like her, history would repeat itself. There would be no peace for the people and nation.
I came back to say the love and trust I have for this drama has made me accept and forgive the rushed ending. The way the hate, love, trust, and forgive each other makes the drama all the better. Great acting from everyone.
I’d like to add, I don’t hate or like Da Qiao i know she’s not wrong for being selfish but my problem is without Maan Maan she wouldn’t have had the short beautiful life she had with Bi Zhi. Her pampering her husband made him into someone else’s puppet. If it were Wei Shao and Maan Maan, I honestly believe Wei Shao would have killed Liu Yan while Maan Maan was still held hostage. And I think that’s what Bi Zhi and Da Qiao lack taking that risk believing in each other facing the consequences together. Either way Da Qiao would have been dead right from the start if she married Wei Shao. She doesn’t have that strong will in her to live that life.
The ending was so rushed! I expected more to be shown. I’m sure they had to cut a lot to make it fit into the time frame but either way I’m glad this drama was able to pass the censorship and distribution license after all the scandals it went through. It’s such a good drama although the last few episodes aren’t my favorite. However, I’m grateful that it saw the light of day and not shelved. This drama has a special place in my heart. I hope this lands a spot on U.S Netflix. I’d rewatch it for sure! Oh! I forgot did that dumbass Zhang Pu die? I think I missed it.

This shows two couples: one who loves each other endlessly but selfishly. The second, the not the ordinary couple that hate each other but are wary of each other and learns to love and trust each other every step of the way for their county and people. I also hope Qiao Ci troops come help too to take down Liu Yan. I hope Bi Zhi knocks some sense into DQ and remembers what he told XQ that if she ever needs his help, he would lend a hand without hesitation. I don’t want to hate on DQ but just because she’s butt hurt about the deer hunt and treat XQ like that like come on girl XQ has done so much for you and BZ. You can’t escape war wherever you go. It has to be faced no matter what whether you lose or win. Face it with honor and pride. I’ll be looking forward to BZ and WS’s fight.
