I totally concur. I come back to the comment section just to see everyone’s opinion. I love this drama too even bought the book. I believe it deserves a rating above 8.9 as well like how it started at 9. The casts are amazing.
I knew Jeong Jiman wasn’t dead he wouldn’t kill himself over a voice recording. It was all to teach jeong Jian how to survive by herself. He did tell her to listen up and as the viewer we should listen up as well and look at our blind spots for us to survive this damn drama.
He did say it because he told her she’d be wearing light colors to mourn her grandfather for a year.
Ep. 6. He didn’t really say it but told Xiao Tan to give her some fabrics to make the dress saying it would be appropriate if she wore light colored clothing. It was after he carried her so her dress wouldn’t get wet.
Before the wedding, when they got the letter that her grandpa died, Wei Qu said there would be no wedding because she will be a mourn period for his death that’s when Wei Shao went to ask her if she’s going to marry him or not. Afterwards, he went to catch the lynx for her. He never really said it but it’s a statement that was given, we just know she had to mourn for a year. Although I thought he said it, because I remember he said he’d give her a year. Idk maybe I misheard or something.
For me, it’s the respect and loyalty they have for each other despite their family feud. Wei Shao could have treated her badly, but he really didn’t (besides the wedding) he gave her the wifey title and kept it that way. The way Wei Shao let Qiao Ci use his dead brother’s spear was a touching scene. I felt angry and sad for him but then I also felt touched and happy that he was able to let go of his grudge and hate. Heck! Even his generals accepted Qiao Ci and looked so proud of him at the deer hunting scene. They all learned to let go of revenge and live a happy life.
My problem with this drama is the way the villains die is so easy like I expect more from it. Honestly wanted Wei Shao to kill all of them. Still love this drama
