Love your study of YS. So close to how I feel about him. He is pursuing SS but is using all the wrong tactics because he is inherently a selfish person for all the reasons you stated and it shows that he does not truly understand or empathize with her. Contrast that to LY and LBY who accepts SS for all that she is.

Yes, both SS and LY has matured and have become better. As for LBY, he hates his ‘stepmother’ who sucks up to the old Wang fei, otherwise he wouldn’t be so rude. Also, the emperor had tried to match her grand daughter, Princess R to LBL but LBY just left for war for several years and the emperor never pursued. So LBY has always repudiated the princess’s advances. All 3 women are LBL’s least favorite people. So understandably , as you mentioned, he doesn’t give a shit (LOL) about them
