That’s why I’ve been saying SS is really smart. Before some of her actions that could be considered dangerous, she had already thought out the end results and had taken actions to counter any negative consequences e.g. she gave herself black eyes when fighting with the mean girls, putting up danger signs in bridge incident . With her guesses that her parents would move, bandits are rebellious soldiers, you see that she is highly intelligent, able to look ahead and yes, that is why she is 3 steps ahead of her parents.

Yes, many Chinese mums are critical like that, especially in the older generations. They think it is just being humble to critique their children in public and sometimes it is to brag in a negative way. Totally agree with you. Love the inputs from other viewers on how they feel about the drama and the characters. That’s part of the joy of watching cdramas. I usually watch alone so reading everyone’s comments give more meaning to what I thought I saw and heard. So many differing and similar opinions.
