Title Romance in the House Spoiler
I still like this series a lot. I don't like the daughter as much after today. I understand her anger with her…
Yeah, I loved her last episode because she was so put together but we can clearly see that the strain of carrying the weight/burden of her family has taken it's toll with her father's arrival. She has some emotional unpacking to do because her behavior is not flattering at all. I understand her anger but her trying to control her mom is just too much. If her mom wants to have a private conversation with her dad/exhusband she is allowed to.

I mean they obviously aren't going to be moving at least not anytime soon so I wouldn't worry too much. I think searching for a house was a little bit of filler to be honest. And the least the dad can do is cover their rent so I think they need to work on putting their pride down. This show will definitely about letting your pride go and forgiveness.

I did not expect to find myself simping over the dad's character but here we are... Ji Jinhee the man that you are, you even make a dead beat dad attractive

The drama is also about Mujin (Ji Jin Hee & Aeyeon's (Kim Ji-soo) story.
Yeah they are the main couple which is why i was saying i think the younger crowd may not like this one, because its a more mature couple and historically these dramas tend to get lower rating unfotunately but for those of us who are older its a win!

I really loved the first episode, I like how they are taking their time to show us the family characters. I also like that we finally have a female lead (Son Na Eun's FL) that is intelligent and emotionally mature. I've been a bit tired of romance dramas making the female leads way too overdramatic and silly. We finally get a girl who is mature, has a good job, and responds calm and realistically to things. I also think the actress is doing great, her character reminds me of a lot of eldest sisters I know.

I will say the focus is on the mom and the eldest daughter, really the family as a whole, so I don't think this show is going to be liked by younger audiences. This is more a family drama than romance drama tbh,.People are complaining the first episode was slow but I actually think this is the best first episode ive seen in awhile. The writers and director gave us time to really understand who the two FLs are and what their current day to day life is like and gave us a glimpse without taking too long at how close their relationship is.

I love how wholesome this mother and daughter is though. So refreshing to see a kdrama mother who is so kind and supportive of her daughter and doesnt scream at her or hit her. And nice to see a daughter who genuinely appreciates and acknowledges all the sacrifices her mom made for her. Can't wait to see what caused the dad to leave and how he will be redeemed.

I also like that we are seeing the other relationship as the girl as kinda of the ... "higher up" one who is dedicated worker and not even bothering to look at men around her. It's going to be cute to see how her and Minho's character's relationship develops. I think after being so responsible for so long shes finally getting someone to take care of her, i cant wait

Easily the best (by my standards/preferences) korean film or drama I've seen this year.

If you're interested in folklore, supernatural, or spiritual movies this is definitely for you. The acting and filming was first class as expected by this casting lineup. I loved how the movie was intense but simple at the same time and how I learned more about Korean history and spiritual beliefs without feeling like im in school. I had no idea the iron stakes were an actual thing that Japanese occupiers did to disrupt the Feng-Shui in Korea.

The movie was really well put together in terms of using actual historical events and beliefs to make a well-paced plot. Some people didn't like the ending or thought it was abrupt but I actually think it was perfect and if you payed attention then everything was explained throughout the movie. I actually like that they didn't try and get over detailed with things towards the end.

This is a good read that explains the iron stakes for anyone interested. It also shows how this movie was definiitely a bit of national propaganda by way of a big middle finger to Japan. Korea to this day is still trying to get the Japanese government to tell them where all of these stakes were placed.

I feel like a lot of people are confused by the old lady at the end but for me it kind of came together. The old lady symbolized who she really was or had the potential to be but was too scared and lost to embrace. She isn't her aunt, she is her "true self" in a way. The old lady allowed her the freedom to do whatever and stop chasing her mom's dream. The cat essentially gave her a way to find the path she is meant to take in life. She just looks similar to her aunt but the old lady isn't her aunt, its her. Or her inner self I guess you could say. I thought that was nice but I feel like this whole magical cat thing just... maybe wasnt needed or should have been done better.

And yeah... romance was not this dramas strong suit. The ending was just...odd. We never really built a mature, genuine relationship between the leads during the entire drama because of her secret she was hiding and not being able to "see" him during the day. So it is just super weird and unrealistic that 6 months goes by and they are still just in love with eachother? There was no real genuine romance development in this show. Just them awkwardly running into one another throughout the show and that one time he opened up to her about his mom. That was a huge miss in this show for me.

I felt like all these montages of her embracing her situation and being honest with her family should have happened 2/3 episodes ago. The plot was very oddly paced in this show with too much filler. It was hard to take either the romance or the mystery seriously because of it.

I also hate how this writer makes all these females obsessed with men. It annoyed me at the very end at her new job the other intern is like "i call dibs on him" and starts asking him out?? They make korean women just seem scary obsessed with men. It just felt...not needed? They could have just shown them awkwardly seeing eachother in the cafeteria without any of that. I dont understand this writers obsession with needed to involved other people? The SML, the other female prosecutor, and the end female intern? Like ... why? It's like the writer things love is some competition.

Also the second lead couple felt...weird. Not sure if it was the age gap but even at the end I couldnt really take them seriously and the dialogue was kind of stiff. The chemistry was very...forced.

Im very happy to be done with this drama haha. Best of luck to everyone still finishing lol.

rushed ending, wasted a lot of time with angst until the last 10 minutes. But who is the old lady she turned into?…
The older lady represents a version or side of herself. It's supposed to be symbolism represeneting her being able to finally be free to do what she wants and find the road she's meant to take in life. She was living in this rut her entire twenties not getting anywhere and ready to give up but the cat essentially gave her this opportunity to be somebody else. Thats why in the dream or whatever the older version of her was like "you were here the whole time doing it all". It was "her" all along not someone else or the aunt.

Why are kdramas so obsessed with crazy females having to have curly hair. All of a sudden now that we know the killers identity and she's in crazy/killer mode she has super curly hair after being so anal about her hair and makeup the whole show. And earlier in the day she had flatpironed hair so it doesnt even really make sense lol. Just a weird thing I always notice.

This FL is all emotion, no logic. She calls her friend 12 times (shes an influencer wtf is she supposed to help with, no offense) and she texts her "call the cops if you can't reach me" like girl ?? call the cops or your boyfriend yourself??? or give a better text explanation, not just a vague text?

I honestly think the guy would have been okay with her secret if her best friend and the SML hadn't known about it this whole time.I think he just felt like she didn't trust him and he couldn't trust her now. He wanted to hear a better explanation from her and she was dumb and said "i fell in love with my job"... girl?? he doesnt give a crap about your employment status or your working with him?? He wanted to build a personal and romantic relationship with you not a professional one?? You're telling him you loved having a job more than telling him the truth , so yeah i definitely think he should have left.

I think the ML just deserves so much better all around. The poor writing for the romance also makes it seem like the two leads have bad chemistry. They both just seem very unromantic and stoic. She cares more about having a job and stressing over everything than she does him. And him just leaving his job and going back to Seoul where she is obviously going to have to go chase him (cause shes the one who messed up) is just so...cliche.

I'm predicting she starts living her life honestly with her family and she finally finds out what she wants to do in life (maybe police/investigative work?) and she will "break the curse". Being an office worker was her moms dream not hers so I think the cat I guess wanted her to do something else and in that process discover what she really wants to do with her life. Very cliche.

Also, I genuinely don't get how her friend notified the guy and the police that Mijin was missing (cause it was night time so the friend told them it was the younger girl) but it was the older lady they found? But he was literally tracking Mijins phone with the police? Idk just ... a few plot holes. Also not sure if they ever explained the doctors wife being killed either. They explained the aunt and the mom and the intern but dont remember them explaining why the doctor wife was killed at the hotel? Maybe I missed it?

I am ready to be done with this show lol. One episode left.

I agree with you. She should have shown her transformation to them as she did with her best friend, especially…
well he may not know actually because at the end of the episode the sun set and she was in her younger form, and it looked like in the trailer the sun was about to rise (she was about to turn into the old lady) so depending on how fast things move her dad may not see her change and itll be the ML who sees her shift at sunrise when he finds her in the film.

they told the mom and dad that it was just someone who has the same name, so i think theres a good chance that they may never find out idk. the writing is so messy and theres definitely a lot of plot holes.

if the sml isnt invovled in the drugs or killings why did we see so much of him. same with the focus last weekend on that female prosecutor who loves the ml, like why did we need to see the fl so jealous and crazy just for them to never show that prosecutor again. idk so much time wasted on weird misunderstandings between the leads when they should have written a better mystery plot.

I mean theres only 2 episodes left and next episode will be on the investigators and ML trying to find her and her father.

I dont think we will see much more of her hiding her secret when shes been kidnapped and drugged by the killer. I think hes going to find out final episode and i guess all will be okay. Theres not enough time left for her to continue hiding anything

so ml still didn't know!?
Yeah my guess is a good chunk of the next episode will be them trying the find her and her dad which is why timing wise I dont think the reveal will be until the final episode (if it happens at all, maybe she magically never changes again idk with this writing)

A lot of people are thinking there will be some break up and he will be mad at her for lying but I don't honestly think we are going to get that time wise. I think he will handle it pretty well and be like "it all makes sense now". He may be upset she didn't tell him but its so ... random/extraordinary that I don't think a break up and seperation is really needed in this drama.

I still think theres going to be one last plot twist in the next episode or two with the SML but we will see. There's a few things that still don't really make sense or explain why they spent so much time on them. But idk half this show was very clearly filler.

Yeah, i understand her being kind of traumatized and not knowing what to do but I'm like why do you keep staying there on the weekends then? And not setting an alarm? For a bit she was staying with her friend so I thought that they ahd kind of arranged for her to stay there some nights but i guess writing wise they needed some filler

actually i dont think they will break up and theres a chance itll be the last episode he finds out cause the trailer last Sunday actually showed episode 14 scenes not 13 so theres a chance he wont find out until last episode and then he will finally understand and i guess forgive her

Even the dad meeting the serial killer woman came out of nowhere. Just conveniently added a flashback to make…
Yeah the writing of the murder mystery is just... bad, like a high schooler came up with this and I don't mean to insult high schoolers lol

I've been suspicious of the female intern from the start, i thought she was going to be an accomplice to the killer. Like she gets and adminsters the drugs and someone else does the killing so her being the main killer is just kinda... odd for me. Seems lazy and idk if the writers thought making it a female would be shock value but it just doesnt even seem realistic in some ways tbh. Like your telling me that old lady outran the male prosecutor in the first episode??? How out of shape is he??

And did they clarify if the mom and aunt are dead? Cause i started fast forwarding but dont remember seeing them actually confirm they are dead or anything.

So much time wasted on misunderstandings and jealousy between the leads when they should have written a better mystery.

What I don't understand about the writing is that she showed her best friend her transformation so her friend would see it for herself and believe her. She also filmed herself changing for the doctor.

Why didn't she wake up early one morning before she changed into the old lady and make her parents watch her transform into the old lady? I understand she already tried to tell her parents and they didn't believe her but of course they didnt??? She was in the old lady form, why would two rational people believe this random old lady who is inside their house that she magically transforms at sunrise and sunset, of course they didn't believe her. It's something you have to see to believe.

But.. why didnt she wake them up early one day and just show them?? They are clearly supportive parents and would have freaked out at first but then helped her??

I actually understand her not telling the ML becaues it is kinda job fraud since she's using someone else's identity and plus... he may find it weird and never want to talk to her again so I completely get it with him. But for me... her not showing her parents doesnt really make sense to me. I get she loves them and doesnt want to worry and disappoint them but this has gone on way too long for her to not tell anyone outside her bestie and the SML.

Her parents deserve so much better. Her poor mom thinking her sister finally came back and is alive, ugh.

14 episodes in and she's still hasn't come clean to both her parents and her boyfriend, and we still don't know…
She did come clean to her parents though, they just didn't believe her and called the cops and tried attacking her . And she cant transform in front of the cops, they'll make her some global science fiction project and she'll be forced to live in a lab with scientists running test on her the rest of her life. Do you expect people to witness her magically transform and just...be cool with it? Her friend and the SML so easily accepting it is already pushing it a bit in reality.
