First of all, what a pig. He did not give one flying fig about what she thought or cared about. The way he behaved…
I’m just glad that early on, they already showed us Yan Heng’s Dad who was equally awful, if not more. It gave us a glimpse of his upbringing. The fact that he’s second-born with a Dad who is entitled must have been hard for Yan Heng, and that also explained why he was so pressured in making his latest start up successful. Too bad he didn’t have a great personality to begin with that the pressure brought out the worst parts of him.
I’m really happy XiFan got out. And before anyone criticizes XiFan for putting up with him for 7years, please understand that our girlie was brought up in a loving home and Yan Heng was her first relationship. Plus, she’s the norturing type. She didn’t recognize that YH was already sucking her soul out in those 7yrs. Perhaps she really just wanted to protect YH from his family and give him the love and support that he’s been craving for all his life. And this is why people like YH loves preying on this type of people as they get satisfied emotionally and physically. Their needs are met.
I’m just happy that XiFan finally found a loving host to norture and pour love into. Note that He Su Hye had to mature fast and grew up being so independent. Definitely his soul had been craving for a loving and norturing hear such as Xi Fan’s. And look how XiFan just effortlessly makes Su Hye feels so loved and adored. She truly healed parts in him that he never thought will ever get healed.
Watching this bc I'm desperate for more from the writer of The Red Sleeve..hope it has similar tension and undercover…
Oh you’d be surprised, the screenwriters screwed up this one. Kim So Hyun got depressed after this as she struggled a lot with her character. It started out good until she could no longer understand her a few episodes after. She only revealed this years after she took a break from filming. I think her final blow was River Where The Moon Rises where they had to refilm almost the entire show because the ML- Kim Jisoo left the production due to a bullying scandal.
Thank you for the comments! It’s somehow encouraging to finally start this soon. Really appreciate it. 💕
Why are you so defensive, it’s not like I’m hating on LuSi? Some fans really just couldn’t engage in a nice conversation. Check how others responded so you could somehow adjust how to take different views from yours.
I really want to watch this but the way Zhao LuSi acts the adult era of her character is just off— doesn’t appear authentic and you can really tell she’s acting all the way through.
I miss the times when she could act naturally, like her character’s skin is her own.
Been wondering why THE BEST THING is visually stunning. Apparently, Director Randy Che is a cinematographer too. Really loved TBB and I’d definitely be checking more of your works, Sir! 🌸
Help a girl out. Anyone know the name of the bgm song that played when Xifan and He suye spent the night together?
Hi, just to add to the prior comment, they uploaded two albums on Apple Music— one for the OSTs alone while another one for the background music. You might be interested to check that out. It’s rare for productions to also release the BG music so I really am grateful for this crew 🥹
The comment section is exactly why older K-drama fans have been camping in C-dramaland. Newer K-drama fans are just so impatient, always demanding to keep the show shorter or declares that certain scenes are just fillers. This kind of behavior pressures the production to only show the spine of the drama that it loses essential flavors as to why some people watch dramas in the first place— the feeling of connecting with the characters beyond their main purpose in the show, the rawness of the scenes, dynamic dialogue, and just a peek of a character’s daily life. These have been labeled as unnecessary and fillers so K-drama screenwriters just tend to write in a linear way now. Meanwhile, C-drama screenwriters are acing the dynamic writing game. Viewers can’t help but get connected more with the characters as we see more of them beyond their character description. How I wish K-dramas return to this style. Every project now seems rushed with no personal touch. Like K-drama productions are just machines with a deadline.
I love him so much in THE BEST THING. He had the best on and off- screen chemistry with Cu Ruohan. They acted so naturally. Their lovey dovey scenes didn’t look awkward or cringe. Just two people deeply in love. Makes you root for their happiness even more.
I kept wondering why THE BEST THING had an amazing cinematography. Every scene felt like a perfectly drawn portrait from an artist’s sketchbook.
I realized Director Randy Che has been working in cinematography for years even before becoming a director. His portfolio is quite too long. And that really showed in this drama. Such aesthetically pleasing and comforting show.
I would like to correct myself when I said that this was slowburn ‘cause it wasn’t at all. This drama showed how they organically fell in love and that made the pacing more sensible.Watching THE BEST THING healed several parts of me that I didn’t know needed healing. I will always recommend this to friends and people who just need comfort and reminder that we all deserve to love ourselves and be loved and cared for.
Apparently that was the author’s story. She liked someone like Dr. He Suye who was happily in love with somebody…
I just read that from several comments across social media platforms talking about THE BEST THING but I haven’t really found a credible article about this. So please take it with a grain of salt.
On episode 9, I have enjoyed it so far but not this plot arc. Xi Fan suddenly not liking Dr.He just because she…
I think it wasn’t really about having a son that Xi Fan and her besties were troubled about. It’s more about him not letting her know when it’s supposedly an integral part of his life.
Although being with a divorcee with a child might also complicate things further for Xi Fan in the future if in case she’d push through with the relationship considering how her parents just want the best for her. Giving away your child to someone with a bit of baggage isn’t really ideal especially for a traditional family like theirs.

Oh well, thank God for C-dramas 💗💗💗

As if it’s the production’s fault that he got into a controversy that made him go into hiatus.
