can anyone recommend me any other food competition or show pls ? this is my first one and im quite enjoying
Not food competitions but the Koreans have pretty solid cooking-based shows that you may want to check: Unexpected Business S1-S3, Youn's Kitchen, Jinny's Kitchen, Baekpacker Chef, to name a few.
What a treat! Been clapping all throughout the eight episodes. While I may not be fully impressed with the ending, I respect the artistic choice to present it that day. It just felt anticlimactic for a severely intriguing storytelling they were so consistent with up until that final scene.
Putting that aside, thank you, Queen Woo, for this wonderful experience. This was the first series that I was able to finish since Queen of Tears last April. All of the shows I watched post-QoT felt bland and uninteresting enough. Queen Woo had me from the start, caught my attention, and made me clap for the artistic choices they had in the writing, cinematography, and overall production. Totally worth rewatching and highly recommended!
I started this show without researching about the people behind the show. First episode in, the directing style and cinematography looked oh so familiar, the script was also reminiscent of an older drama that I liked but became disappointing. Then boom, found two actors who were also in it. Turned out it was really the same people behind Something in the Rain. I just hope the writing and execution will be much better here.
What a warm and cozy series. Will definitely watch it all over again. The leads' chemistry was sooooo good and the palette used for the entire drama is just warm, comforting in a way.
That is your perspective though. If getting a trophy from a few selected judges is a win for you, then okay. But know that a win could also be topping the markets and entertainment industry, which is more tangible in terms of profit versus just a trophy. A win could also be a feeling of overcoming something despite the odds.
This show is one of the 2 dramas this year that has been labeled as the greatest piece of television in 2024 by…
It's quite hard to compete for certain awards with just four eps eligible for Baeksang 2023-2024 (Queen of Tears) vs completed dramas. Besides, the contenders are also great and were huge when they aired last year. What I'm saying is perhaps let's just wait for other awards shows where QoT can compete fairly. We still have AAA and Blue Dragon, to name a few.
Did I miss some clues, or did they not at all explain why the evil woman, SLM's mom, killed FL's brother with…
Hi. You didn't miss a clue as it was not fully explained. But it was implied that Mok Sol Hee was getting rid of the Hong's "top characters" one by one. She was slowly uprooting those who would most likely take over the Queen's Group because of their competence and birth right.
We can surmise this as first, she got rid of the eldest son by luring him into the bait-- betraying his father, Hong Mandae, to save himself. That was of course a success as he got banished from the Queen's Group and the Hong's life for over 20 years.
Perhaps she saw that the second son wasn't a threat at all, she then targeted the possible heirs, Suwan and Hae In. It was said that even as a child, Hae In was their grandfather's favorite, whereas Suwan was expected to lead as he was the eldest grandchild. She just didn't manage to kill both children as Hae In was saved by Hyunwoo. She also lost her chances to destroy Hae In through the years-- the dog, marriage match with Eunsung, etc. Hae In just managed to always weave herself out of SolHee's grasp.
Watching this series for the 4th time now (It's just that good to me) and I still don't fully understand the relation…
Hi. Hyun Tae is the eldest son so his wife is expected.to serve her in-laws. In traditional Korean culture, the moment a woman marries, he becomes part of the husband's family, meaning, she would have to serve her in-laws, not only her husband and children. That means, she moves in with them in the house (eldest son is not expected to move out as they will be heading the household after his father passed), prepares their meals, cleans the house for them, does whatever her in-laws asks her to, births her children and rears them according to her in-law's wishes, prepares the family events such as the tiring ancestral rites and birthday parties, etc.
In the series, Hyun Tae's Mom knows how hard the role of being a daughter-in-law is, even more so with a husband like Hyun Tae. So in an attempt to break the tradition and of course, to ensure that she would no longer be responsible for Hyun Tae, she introduced a modern and liberal take on their DIL-MIL relationship. That's why it shocked her daughter and husband that she didn't even want her DIL to greet her on her birthday because that's like a very big stretch. DILs are expected to cook and go above and beyond for their in-law's birthdays to show filial piety.
And that also makes Hyunwoo's married life with Hae In manageable in terms of family dynamics as his own Mother isn't bent on the traditional set up. The role reversed as we all saw. It was Hyunwoo who married into the Hongs. Hae In even rarely visited the Baeks before her diagnosis.
THIS WAS SOOOO GOOD!! Makes me want to check other cop dramas too. This series definitely helped in my QoT sepanx era and I'm forever grateful. Can't wait for S2! 🥹😍
The ending, considering its length (1 hour and 50 minutes) could be broken down into three chapters and all of which were beautiful.Thank you so much to the entire cast and crew, as well as those behind the production of this masterpiece. I'm forever grateful to all of you.
This has got to be the most expensive drama, acting-wise and emotion-wise to me. I felt undeserving of how each scene was executed. Everything about this is well-thought of. There may be instances that we didn't agree with the writing but it was a welcomed contrast to our views nonetheless.
The past eight weeks was so beautiful and I'll carry QoT with me for as long as I live. Thank you.
That was Geunwoo as thar was the 2023-2024 timeline after winning the case against Mok Seolhee. Baek Soo Bin was…
The leads have a baby girl who's presumably named Baek Soo Bin (Hae In's dad already pre-named the Baby in ep 1 as Hong Soo Bin). As for the pictures, since the setting was in Yongduri, HaeIn's baby pictures couldn't be possibly displayed there. But the ones I saw earlier were all their daughter's. The toddler pictures taken in Germany when she was wearing yellow, the studio picture she took with her grandparents when she's of school age, etc.

Baek Soo Bin was born much later.
