Just finished it and as a fan of Shin Hye Sun I have to say, this was the weakest character of all her projects…
I'm shocked that you claimed that you're a fan yet forget she used the same acting style with her characters in Oh My Ghost and Thirty But Seventeen. Sometimes it's not about how the character was written but how the actor brings it to life. I know she's a great actress but she needs to establish more variations to her acting. It was really distracting, even the way she threw her lines or moved her head were all the same.
I think almost every girl feels like pre-makover Im Ju Gyeong in middle school/high school, bare face. 😂 She's…
I know right? I'm also glad to have realized that I'm now like her sister who simply just doesn't care anymore about looks 😂 Oh, maturity. Such a precious thing.
Wow, I watched this without checking the comment section. Thank God.
Anyway, allow me to share my thoughts.
ML may have been a green flag to you, a third person, but to the FL he could be the reddest flag there was. What I mean is that a good person for you maybe the wrong person for someone else. It all boils down to compatibility and commitment to reconcile their differences.
When they were together the first time, ML may have been the most loving boyfriend but it suffocated the FL because she wasn't at the stage to accept that kind of love yet. ML's shine may have been too much for the FL. When they got together again, the ML's shine became too blinding for the FL.
The fact that the FL chose to be honest about her discomfort instead of bottling it all in like most people would resort to, already speaks volumes of how much regard she has for the ML. While I understand that she could have worded it better, communicated sooner, still, as someone who's like her, I can just imagine the struggle to find the right words, the right timing, the right chance just to say it. Added pressure is how to lessen the pain caused to another 'cause it will just hurt regardless. Why can't she just tell him how he feels? Saying it out loud is a very hard thing to do especially if acknowledging the problem is already hard enough to deal with.
I know it sounds like a poor excuse but people like her exist. Let us just be patient with them.
They met when they're in different phases in life-- one knows himself well and knows what he wants, the other does not know how to appreciate and love herself yet. In turn, she cannot love another properly YET. Breakup was imminent. I'm just glad that they chose a different route the second time around. And I'm more glad that they were so sure of each other that they were willing to go through the messy parts together as she finally starts to love and get to know herself. I just hope she also fills the ML's cup in the process so he won't get emptied in the process as that's what usually happens.
What a great drama! This is a balm to my highschool woes. I felt healed, seen, and validated. All the actors gave justice to their roles. More like this, pleaseee.
Im loving this drama but do they really think she looks like a different person just with lipstick and eyeliner?…
We have to look more using the societal lenses that time. Widows and of noble families at that aren't expected to be out and about in the public. They have their servants to do their errands for them and they're expected to come out only for rare social gatherings. But considering her stature, she's more expected to just stay at home and take care of the household and kid/s.
So perhaps, even if someone recognizes her, they'd push to think otherwise considering it's impossible for her to be outside her home and be sociable.
Am I the only one who was thinking that while doing sucide Choi Yi Jae killed someone else alone with him and…
You're not alone! At ep 2 opening scene, I thought he landed on Jisu and killed her. Then on ep 3 opening scene, I thought a baby died as well. Now that Jisu is apparently alive till ep 4, I thought the owner of the wallet with Yee Jae's picture was his mom, then I eventually I was proven wrong by that columbarium scene.
I just hope they'd wind up everything perfectly.

What a great series!!!
I felt all of it.
