No other bl is doing it to me what Revenged love is doing😭 this and desire are my top rn! While we’re waiting…
The Japanese BL "My Beautiful Man" (two seasons) is a fan favourite. One of my all time favourite BLs is the Korean "Semantic Error". Thai BL "KinnPorsche" had its flaws but was kind of groundbreaking, check it out if you haven't already.
Have you watched My Personal Weatherman? It's a Japanese BL with a toxic relationship but very well done. Chemistry…
This. They basically have a Dom/sub relationship but suck at communicating about it so they don't really understand each other until the end. It's not actually toxic.
Fr the success is crazy. They really gotta drop Immortality and Winner is King for the greater good of society.…
Immortality is the censored live action bromance adaptation of the popular danmei novel "The Husky and His White Cat Shizun", also known by its shorthand "2ha" or "Erha". It was supposed to air right after Word of Honor back in 2021, and then China banned anything to do with danmei in films and TV series, even if it was censored. So it ended up on the shelf indefinitely.
"stiff and terrible acting continuously from thai bls " very strange, i have never seen any Thai BLs,…
With Thai BL, it's a matter of volume. With such a big BL industry output, you will get some gems and some duds, just like with C-dramas. The bigger the output, the more duds. And you're also going to get series that are just low quality production cash cows, with just the bare minimum effort to sell the CP, with very little focus put into scriptwriting, production and editing. Also let's not forget that China has a vastly greater population than Thailand and that means bigger budgets.
Thai BLs can be very good when they are good, but unfortunately not all of them are.
There’s no need to spread unnecessary panic. So far, there is no evidence that BL actors are being arbitrarily…
Yeah, I'm not saying that playing the shou automatically leads to smear campaigns, just that the ones that have been subjected to those had just recently played shou.
The Xiao Zhan event is too complicated to relate here, but he was also subjected to hate campaigns because of the AO3 incident and lost endorsements, and his dramas that he'd already filmed didn't air until one or two years later. He hasn't done as many Strong Manly Hero roles, but he did play the main lead in Ace Troops. Maybe his style doesn't suit them? He's played several het romance roles, though. And yes, after the hate storm settled down he came back and it has been pretty smooth sailing for him since then.

The allegations against Zhang Zhehan have been debunked many times over. It was a fabricated smear campaign directly targeting him after his sudden rise of popularity after starring in WoH. Whether it had to do with jealousy over his sudden rise in popularity or with the fact that he had starred in a dangai is unclear. Might be either, might be both. Since the Chinese police refuse to investigate the case, we'll never know. I'm not trying to spread panic, I'm just stating facts, and I did mention how most of the popular danmei and dangai actors so far are doing fine (some even after having gone through some trouble) and some of them even great (like Zhu Yilong, who keeps winning prestigious awards for his acting).
While I love everything about this show, Guo Cheng Yu really fighting his way up the favourites list right now.…
He deliberately sabotaged JXS's scheme just so he'd continue to "take refuge" in his house a bit longer, and yeah, omitted to tell him that the issue was already resolved, for the same reason. But I agree that when it comes to the physical interactions, he's never acted inappropriately IIRC. And the fact that he backed off during the aphrodisiac scene despite having inhaled it himself was definitely green flag behaviour.
Guys please let me know what y'all think:So, I am planning to binge-watch this show once it ends. But all my social…
To lay your mind at rest, no, the Chinese government can't ban the series from airing, since it's already sold to non-Chinese platforms and is not airing in China.
Fame is always associated with risks in China, and that's not limited to BL actors. Mainstream actors also get subjected to hate and smear campaigns and some of them get banned, but yeah, to attract a lot of sudden attention does seem to be a high risk position in China. We can only hope that Tian Xuning and Zi Yu will be fine and come out of it stronger and with more supporters than haters.

Zhang Zhehan is still banned in China, despite the allegations against him have been proved over and over again to be fabricated. He makes music now, but he can only tour outside of China.
But both Johnny Huang and Timmy Xu who starred in Addicted, which was indeed banned from airing, are still working, as are Zhu Yilong, Bai Yu, Wang Yibo and Xiao Zhan. The latter did go through a period of being "soft banned" but came back and has no issues anymore. Gong Jun who starred in both Advance Bravely and Word of Honor is still working. But it's notable that for example WYB and Johnny Huang both subsequently took many roles where they portrayed hard-core masculine patriotic hero types, perhaps in an attempt to "clean up" their image in the eyes of the authorities. And I wonder if it's relevant that the two actors who did experience problems (ZZH and XZ) both played the shou role in their respective dangai dramas.
Li Le and Wang Yunkai don't seem to have as many projects lined up, but that might be because MYatB didn't have the same impact as RL. And I notice that WYK, who also played the shou, has no projects lined up on MDL while Li Le has a couple of supporting roles. But I don't know if that amounts to being "soft banned".
Lol, I was planning to scroll through the comments to read some character perspectives, thoughts about the storyline…
And yeah, we had the 🍆🍑 discussion yesterday in this comment section but you'd have to scroll a while to find it. Basically: no, it shouldn't even hurt if you do it right. Some discomfort, yeah, but no pain, and definitely not the next day. (But if you do it forcefully repeatedly for hours like Chai Jidan's MLs tend to do, I guess all bets are off.) Granted, I'm a woman, but that also means that I don't even have the benefit of a prostate.
I won't call that "censoring" because the whole series would be lmfao. They just have a different style…
MaxTul were always in a league of their own, yeah! 😁They weren't explicit to that point, though. They may have shown bare torsos and kissing and rolling around on a bed, but everything else was mostly hinted at. We didn't see the naked grinding and thrusting the way we did in KP. But yeah, I like to say that MaxTul walked so KP could run. (I mean, there were some more or less pink Japanese movies too, but I don't really count them in the BL category.)
It's because WSW introduced him to his mother as a colleague back when they first met. He's just keeping to the…
Oh, you're right. But it's considerate of him to still keep to the story, just to avoid suspicion. I think WSW's mama definitely assumes that they're more friends than colleagues at this point, though!
