It IS fully banned in China. You can't search it on Weibo or anywhere, all mentions of it have been scrubbed (a user in China told me this further down in the comments). People are using code words and sharing it illegally under different names to evade discovery. As long as Chinese people know it's out there, they will do all they can to find it.

I have been taking Chinese evening classes for a while and sometimes it's just enough to know that the subs are wrong, and very occasionally I can get the gist of what they're talking about. But I'm wondering how much we're missing from the Chinese dialogue 😭
