There are things I loved and things I liked and things I disliked about this episode. Loved: Tum and Tiffy
Tum and Tiffy have to be the best straight couple in a BL series EVER. I just love everything about them. And Tiffy being bi! Nubsib's and Gene's interactions are cute in the first part of the episode. Sib's comments about "not talking to strangers" and "not posting pictures of himself" are borderline red flags, but Gene doesn't let him get away with it, which makes me relax about it.
BUT. The Big Reveal and the ensuing confrontation were so, so badly written. 1. How did not Nubsib anticipate this? He absolutely knows that Gene's parents live next door to his, and that they are friends. 2. How did not Gene remember him at all? Sure, different surname, 5-6 years age difference, having been abroad for a few years... but still? Bad memory for faces? But that should have been established before, if so. 3. Nubsib repeating "Please let me explain", and then just standing there saying nothing. For ages. Twice. I do understand that they wanted to milk the scene for *EmOTiOnS*, but they could have done that with, you know, actual lines? It might even have been better? I do think Nubsib genuinely cares about Gene (and probably has for a long time, maybe even for years), but he really messed up this time, and he needs to say something. Surely he didn't bank on Gene never figuring it out? Because how stupid would that be? Surely he has a good explanation to hand? No? He really doesn't come off in the best light here.
There are so many ways this plot twist could have been done better and revealed better, and handled better. I am ANNOYED.

After watching the first episode I think I kinda get the synopsis now... well for the most part at least.
Well, we don't know that it will, I'm just trying to make sense of the machine translation based on what happened in the first ep and the hints about future happenings it showed... I wish I knew Thai, then I could find the original blurb and figure it out!
But if there is an incident, I think it could be either bullying gone too far, or the scene from the opening where Paper pushes Thong Fah into the pool, and he just floats there...
They should not post it on YT for 2hrs. Instead they should release the episode after a week of its initial release…
I'm wondering if this is because of a deal with AIS Play or something. Maybe two hours was all they could negotiate? But it would still make more sense to have the first ep (or the first two) air on AISPlay and the week or two after that release them on YouTube, a bit like Lovely Writer is doing.
I really want to like it but it was way too rushed and had a really weird flow imo... Idk, I'm not gonna drop…
Yes, there were things happening in the first ep that should have been in the second, for better storytelling. I don't know if they wanted to tease the viewers so they'll tune in next week for part two, but it totally ruins the flow and the natural progression. And because of the bad editing, it left us feeling as if scenes were out of sequence.
I really thought they'd drag out the 'hate' phase a lot longer. The change happened so fast that I kept waiting…
That's usually my problem with enemies-to-lovers storylines, and this was no exception. Too fast, with too little in the way of transition or some major event/info that will drastically change one person's opinion of the other. Almost fist-fighting one day, then seriously flirting the next morning with no clues as to how or why. It's just not convincing. A good example of a credible progressive enemies-to-lovers transition is We Best Love: No. 1 For You. They got it right. I can't think of a good BL example of the major event transition rn, but the classic story is of course Pride and Prejudice. It's hard to do this kind of storyline in a short format, but it could still have been done better than this. The first episode should have been about them starting to warm to each other, and then the caring-when-sick and getting flustered and secretly attracted scenes should appear in the second half, not the first. And the bad editing didn't help. Also, Ake just seems like a bad egg and we still have no reason to like him, so the fact that Tue suddenly does is kind of a head-scratcher.
wait there is episode 2 ? Here it only says 1 episode
It's one long 2-hour special split into four half-hour parts. So when some people say "episode 1" they really mean "part 1", but on this site "one episode" means the entire thing.
Damnn, he lost, haha Don't get me wrong, I'm all in for BL, but I was kind of rooting for Mob. I wouldn't mind…
Yes, this was a drama where I strangely rooted for him to EVADE the romance! Maybe because I really wanted him to be ace. And also it was a bit weird because he was obviously totally against it in his internal monologue, but what he said and did was the opposite, so it came across as if he was under a spell or something.
The pacing was a mess. They went from hating each other to liking each other in the blink of an eye lol I didn't…
True, I often feel that way with enemies-to-lovers stories (the transition from one to the other is seldom convincing), but here the pacing was definitely off too. The script wasn't bad per se, but there were some odd time jumps and a lack of continuity.
I've submitted the character names, but I don't think they accept a synopsis that doesn't come from an official source. Which is a shame, because the current synopsis is almost impossible to understand.
