i don't know why people say this is not a BL, if it has the most prominent trope in BL: having female cast members…
idk. i wish it was bl, but they’re homophobic and censored everything gay about this. at first i thought they might try to leave some gay easter eggs but then i remembered that it airs on kbs lmao, the most conservative of them all. quite the unfaithful adaptation of the original webtoon if you ask me, or even just anyone.
Tell yourself what you want but the main story line is about Joon struggles and character development. I know…
which has me wondering why they had to censor an lgbt webtoon instead of just adapting a straight webtoon into a drama. i mean, we all know that sk is conservative. but why the queer erasure?? i wish they would leave lgbt webtoons alone.
i love yanan but i can't say i'm excited for this drama. after how gay word of honor was (we all loved it but the government didn't), they've been doubling down and being extra strict on bl adaptations, so we probably won't be getting any gay easter eggs or anything lol :( i bet they'll add a female love interest.
i don't think i will be watching this because i do not want to support censorship in china. it's blatantly homophobic. :/
Okey so just a side note, cause I see a lot of comments about this series being "cliché, but..." : BOY IF YOU…
yeah people are saying cliche and i'm like...if you think this is cliche then you must not know about the thai bl industry and the thousands of engineer dramas they have with the same exact plot :/
but he doesn't realize he's lonely at first and voluntarily isolates himself, so he's probably not going to "fit…
hey, don't ask me. that's just how the drama is. neurodivergent people think differently. he voluntarily isolated himself from other students because he didn't understand the point of meaningful relationships. as a neurodivergent person myself, to be completely honest, i also thought the same way and didn't have friends for a while. but the isolation really started to catch up to him when he heard people whispering behind his back and he realized he wasn't in the loop about anything happening at school. you can't judge this from a neurotypical perspective—it's illogical. taegyung doesn't think the same way as others, so it's natural to have a hard time understanding him. but just because you don't get it doesn't mean his experience isn't real. i really see myself in him because i also thought i was just fine on my own. nobody bullied me or anything. not everyone gets bullied for staying on their own. if you went/are going to high school, you'll know that everyone kinda just stays with their own group of friends—nobody's really going to care about who you are or what you're doing. it's pretty easy to not have friends actually lmao :)
taegyung doesn't seem to be an introvert, just neurodivergent. also the girl does not attend their school, they…
i think it’ll get better, don’t worry :) though the reason i say taegyung is neurodivergent is because of quite a few reasons, including being unable to read the room, struggling in social interactions, coming off as apathetic and emotionless, unable to understand the point of a meaningful relationship, not recognizing familiar students at school, etc. i wouldn’t say he’s shy; he’s definitely very blunt and says things without taking note of the atmosphere. looking at the trailers, it seems that he will open up and become goofy around the boys after some time. also in the trailers, he seemed very confused whenever something bad happened to him, unable to understand why so-and-so did that and get a read on others, so i think that’s another example of his neurodivergence. any way, these are things i experience myself! i’m neuro divergent and really saw myself in him :) but i get your concerns. hopefully it’s just episode-1-awkwardness and the script will portray taegyung better and more accurately.
I couldn't get through it - too boring , unoriginal, and poorly written. First, an introvert is not someone who…
taegyung doesn't seem to be an introvert, just neurodivergent. also the girl does not attend their school, they meet with her outside. she goes to a separate school with other girls, it seems.
could not stop laughing throughout the episode! it was nothing revolutionary but worth watching. some people have some issues with saeon's acting for taegyung but i think he pulled off the role well with the microexpressions and everything. taegyung is definitely neurodivergent which can be hard for neurotypical people to understand, but i think the acting was spot on. it'll only get better anyway—it's just the first episode.
I'm in love with this show. Even with some depth, I like to have it as a story that isn't heavy to watch. Sometimes…
i feel like they wanted a cute/shy character but forgot to give him some depth so now he's just the infantilized character that can't cook...yeah...uh at least he's a lecturer though?
i don't think i will be watching this because i do not want to support censorship in china. it's blatantly homophobic. :/
well folks, don’t watch the aforementioned drama if you got triggers! it’s bound to have one of them :/
