I remember saying the drama turned into a revenge story for WKX. At least in the novel, Priest elaborated on ZZS…
i totally get what you mean by the novel divergence, but i don't see ZZS as a weak character even after WKX saved him after he was (basically) captured by the king. he couldn't have escaped on his own. the whole situation was really troubling for him because so many of his brothers died and he was ready to just die there, so he wouldn't have tried to escape anyway. although he's gaining more and more of his martial arts back after he nears his death, he's still a strong yet calm warrior that many fear. ZZS wasn't fragile at all in this series. he's saved WKX and JCL many times and has never been afraid to face his demons even when everything is against him. it's normal for even the bravest to be vulnerable at times, but this can't be mistaken for fragility. at the same time, i have to say i think WKX had more of these emotional, lose-control type of moments that ZZS helped him out of. not a damsel in distress as i see it :)
ok but the moment when ZZS came down to WKX and gave this soft smile and said "i'll save you" (or maybe it was "save it" idk) my heart absolutely melted. he'll stick by WKX through thick and thin. the way he drew his sword on everyone else and stood side by side with WKX...y'all get yourself a man like that!!! their love for each other runs so deep. the scene was just so heart wrenching and heartwarming at the same time. it's a good thing neither of them actually die. they've been through so much and deserve to live happily with each other. maybe with chengling too if that kid GETS HIS SHT TOGETHER
CHENGLING WHY DID YOU DO THAT HJREFKJRGJHSDGJRESJKDFH mans got brainwashed and literally forgot that WKX is his dad and gets him thrown off a cliff WHY TT
I see a lot of people saying they have less off-screen chemistry and are more awkward than most k-bl actors so…
exactly. the actors actually met way before shooting for the drama since hyunhoon was his senior at school. they're always complimenting each other and even with how restrictive the interviews are, you can tell they have a precious friendship. i guess some people think if they're not giggling all the time with each other then they're not friends?? which is ridiculous because people are different and express themselves in different ways.
I don't think so, he already appeared in The Untamed, it would be kind of confusing seeing him taking both roles…
he only had a support role in CQL. it won't be a big deal if he gets casted as a main lead in TGCF if he deserves the role. it's our job not to get his two roles mixed up. saying he shouldn't get casted in TGCF purely because he played a small role in CQL seems kind of unfair to him. these two dramas/novels don't share the same universe anyway and sharing an author is inconsequential. let's support him no matter what he gets casted as :)
Just saw this list of 22 C-bromance, mostly airing in 2022. I'm assuming these are for live series, not for donghuas.…
not sure...i saw for one of them that the casting is going on right now. i also saw there were a couple dramas based on wu zhe's novels, so if "chasing the light" does well (another wu zhe novel drama airing this year), i'm sure they'll be confirmed.
I love this drama for it's characters and story ,, I know it's BL in nature but I will say I don't see platonic…
it's not "bl in nature," it's just bl lol. they call it brotherhood to get past censorship but the production team is constantly leaving hints about the two leads romantic relationship. that's how it is with these censored adaptations: it's never actually brotherhood—that's only to appease the laws and the homophobes. the screenwriter is a fan of priest (the author of the novel in which the two leads are in a relationship) and tried to keep the drama as true to it as possible. so i'd appreciate if you don't try to explain out the clear homosexuality in the drama when we're already fighting against laws that are against it LOL like this is a gay drama...
i hope so too. i’m quite tired of rape being romanticized in thai bl dramas. they have a huge audience and including these scenes just perpetuates rape culture on a large scale...
the pacing is actually really great. the story doesn't feel rushed at all despite the short duration of each episode and the plot/character development has actually progressed a lot. that is not an easy thing to do!! i would sell my soul for si on LMAO he's so precious and so is hong seok. they've made the best use out of the time allotted, to the point where i've actually become very attached to the characters. their emotions are palpable to the screen and their relationship blossomed beautifully. please give this drama a watch if you haven't! i highly recommend it :)
you don't know anything about the majority, unfortunately. let us rate it however we want to. i actually genuinely enjoyed the drama because of the plot, acting, ambience of the environment, production value, etc. we see deeper, traumatic social issues threatening to surface in tandem with a budding relationship. i think it's beautiful :)
so far it's kinda cheesy and it's *really* getting on my nerves how they're just going to use that one ost 5 times a 10 min episode (a beautiful song that i downloaded after the teasers came out but it's just too repetitive now!!) bc they don't have any other songs...but other than that i really love the emotions that the actors are displaying in their eyes, all the micro expressions and everything. perfect! they have great chemistry and the attraction between the leads somehow makes sense despite it all happening in less than 20 min. that's not an easy feat! but hopefully it'll pick up soon since we're technically already ¼ of the way through. all in all, the production value and script kind of seems like a step down from WYES and Mr. Heart, though i'm trying not to be disappointed since it just started.
also chengling: let's not trust him and kill his husband and expect everything to be ok :))
