From what the novel readers are saying, the drama deviated a lot from the novel.
Like telling a different story with the characters from the novel.
The novel is pretty chill slice of life kinda story, is what I'm hearing.

I decided to read it after I'm done with the drama.

In Lucifer, there was always an underlying notion of something brewing between the cases, for me, that's the main plot of the season. The cases somehow help weave everything into the main plot.

I guess we are in a world building stage of the drama where the main storyline takes a back seat, while a few small subplots are introduced bring the characters together. And we are getting a few hints related to the main plot.

I think the drama will still follow along the subplots after subplots, with main plot interwoven in between.
And the subplots are key to unlocking main plot's mysteries.
