From an emotional standpoint, I have no complaints against MXL for saving TM (by which, I mean, I don't think she is betraying ML by doing that, or that she has any romantic feelings for TM). For me, it depends on what genre drama I'm watching. If it is a not romance heavy drama, I also care more for characters rather than the CP thing.
