Maybe, since the drama airs on Tencent (and not on TV), Viki receives raw and subtitles together. The youtube…
You are correct about this one. It's nice to have them subbed immediately upon release, unfortunately the translation is a bit weird at times. The Viki teams usually do it better.
I don't want it to be Mimi. I was really hoping for a happy ending for her and Mujin :'( altough I have prepared my heart for her death since she was first introduced.
I was one of the people who didn't really care for these eps (esp watching it RAW and not really understanding…
I also quite enjoyed Suns time with Qin lao, Xu Feng, Yunniang and Shiba, and then his meeting with Li Jing. Sun knows he's from the central plains, but until meeting Changge hasn't really interacted that much with the people from there, aside from scouting out their strength and weakness before a battle. Now he gets to see for himself just what it is that Changge is so desperate to protect, and why. And you can tell that their time apart here will only help to strengthen their relationship. Haha, the more I talk about these episodes the more I like them LOL but of course, I can agree that they aren't as good as the previous episodes. But they are necessary in the long run, and make a good contribution to the series as a whole.
I rewatched all the episodes up to the latest subbed ones. And I'm honestly so happy that the scripwriter and…
Well said! I also liked these latest episodes. People who say they're filler don't understand the purpose of these episodes, which, as you say, is mostly about allowing Changge to rest and reflect on all that has happened, and put herself back together, so that she can become even stronger and be able to do what she wants to do. And we get to see a lot of character development from Leyan, Haodu and the others as well. And there are so many really good scenes in these episodes, both funny and sweet. The only part that's actually a bit annoying is the one about the Crown Prince. Such a brat *rolleyes* But these episodes also serve as a springboard for the later half of the series, since the Sui conspiracy is finally coming to light. Episode 27-30 serve perfectly as appetizers for the upcoming rest of the series. Cause I just want more after finishing them. :D
Marcus sim, predicted that court lady and li yi tong will take over number one spot this coming Sunday. What you…
I hope not. I basically dropped Court Lady after 2 episodes. I skip through the new episodes that come, and it seems to have gotten better, but I'm just not feeling it. It's not very engaging compared to TLB, and I can't relate to any of the characters. It is very obvious that the they wanted it to be the next Yanxi Palace, and unfortunately I feel like that's draging it down. The dialouge was very poorly written, at least in the earlier episodes. I also felt like the acting was off, or if it was the directing. It does appear to have gotten better by now, but it fails in all of the areas where TLB succeedes (pacing, character development, engaging story, well balanced overall, even in the use of certain tropes). While I feel like TLB could have been longer, I have no idea how they're going to pull off 55 episodes of Court Lady. So no, I doubt it will take TLB's place as number one. Not for a while. At least, that's what I'm rooting for.
I'm interested to know, why did you all start watching TLB? and where did you first hear about it?For me, I first…
I started watching Marcus Sim on YouTube a couple of months ago, and he woild occasionally mention it. At least that's how I think I first heard about it. Can't really remember, but I get most of my c-drama news by watching his videos so. I remember knowing there was a lot of anticipation for it, altough I didn't quite get why. Hadn't heard of the manhua, and while I find most of Dilraba's work to be okay, she isn't one of my favorite actresses. And I hadn't seen any of the series Wu Lei was in after Nirvana in Fire. So I wasn't that interested at first. Then I know I saw the first trailer, and I felt very unsure whether I would like it or not (looked a bit to violent, bloody and depressing to me). Then the second trailer showed up, and I felt a lot more interested in it, and since I was on the lookout for something new to watch I decided to try the first episode. And here I am, totally stuck, barely able to watch anything else. :D
Just watched the BTS about the making of the soundtrack. So interesting that Sa Dingding read the manhua twice when writing the lyrics to her song, and was trying to put herself in the characters shoes and think about their feelings when writing the song.
I'm actually looking for one too. Bcos of the waiting so torturing
I loved The rise of Phoenixes, and especially Ningyi. The political drama of it was so good and so many good characters. But I'm not sure I can ever re-watch it because of the ending. Til this day I can't accept it. And I found out much later that the novel has an entirely different ending which just made it harder to accept that they ended it the way they did in the drama. Ah, my poor Ningyi :'(
Found the clip. Man, so much good stuff to look forward to. Monday is so far away!
