I watched an interview with Leo and he said that they were supposed to film the scene where A'Sun bathes in the…
Hahaha, I think I know someone who will be utterly disappointed to hear that we missed out on this just because of bad weather xD @Johanna Linnea Karlsson
Guys, I'm on ep 6 now and really don't get the hype, does it get a lot better later on? Watched this because of…
I think it gets better and better. While it certainly is one of my favorite C-dramas til date (and I've watched quite a few), it doesn't compare to NiF, that's expecting too much. But script, character development, music and plot are all top notch, it never gets boring and never drags things out just to keep the drama going (except maybe for one thing, but since it comes down to character development it's not that bad). This story is quite different from NiF, it's not so centered on the politics for instance, but focuses more on the characters growth. I'd say give it a couple of more episodes if you can.
The Manhua is based off of historical events. The actual Khans clan name win real life was Ashina. Since the drama…
Yicheng got to keep her name. I doubt she was a great villain in real life. What's the difference there? I get that there have been no major creative liberties taken with the Tang history, but this is still a fictional story. It feels like you're allowed creative liberties only up to a certain degree, and after that you're gonna get censorship problems. It just feels a bit inconsistent at times.
Ok. I’ve finally broken down and created an account just to say this show ROCKS. I’ve only been watching Asian…
I've been watching C-drama for 5-6 years already, but didn't start an account here on MDL until recently. I don't really have anyone irl to discuss these series with, so it's nice to come over here and have an exchange of thoughts. The TLB board is ridiculously active though compared to the other series I've been commenting on, it's a struggle to keep up. xD But it's great fun. I've seen a lot of C-drama during these years, and TLB definitely deserves the hype.

So no creative liberties were taken with the other historical characters on the show? I find that hard to believe. But anyway, I've given up on making the censorship make sense, just gotta accept that it just doesn't sometimes xD
Sorry I'm all over the comment section rn but I've a lot of points to make as I'm in midst of rewatching it. A…
I've been a bit fascinated lately with how little patience a lot of viewers have, how fast they can judge a character, and how easily they get bored with actual storytelling (seriously, there can't be action all the time, both we and the characters need to breathe every now and then). It's quite beneficial to one's viewing experience if one takes time to reflect on why the characters act the way they do. Granted, sometimes they're just plain stupid. But aren't we all sometimes? I do dislike when characters act in a certain way simply because the script says so (tropes, cliches etc that we've all seen different characters do a hundred times and still don't make sense even on the 101st). Thankfully TLB avoids this, here even the stupid decisions make certain sense, if you see it from the characters viewpoint.
Someone mentioned it had something to do with censorship.
I can never make heads or tales of this censorship thing sometimes. Why did Ashina have to change to Ashile, while a bunch of other real historical characters in the drama didn't have to? Not the first historical drama I've seen this sort of thing in either (if someone happens to have a good answer, be my guest, otherwise this is more of a rethorical question, something I've wondered for some time)
i would say - le coup de foudre skate into love put your head on my shoulder ( same male lead ) these 3 ( along…
le coup de foudre is a real favorite of mine among romantic c -drama, such a great main couple, and many nice characters. And as you say, a realistic and healthy relationship.
I didn’t care much for Hao Du or Leyan. Yes, A’sun & Chang Ge are awesome. Although, I like Chang Ge & Leyan’s…
Ikr xD might be the only thing I'm missing in the drama from the manhua. But I'm enjoying the drama so much that it doesn't bother me anymore. Wu Lei's A'Sun is amazing on its own.

Actually, I do recommend the manhua. The A'Sun in the manhua is hilarious at times. He's not as... How should I put it?..... Not as smart as in the drama. xD He mostly had Mujin do the thinking for him, and then later also Changge. They were almost like his babysitters a lot of the time LOL Mujin and Changge have a funny relationship in the manhua as well.
