I wish this drama was as bright as the cover. I really can't get into the story because I don't like the cinema…
Finland during winter does not look bright at all. Matter of fact the major part of Europe during winter time looks exactly as you see it in that show with the sun setting sometimes at 2-3 pm. Yesterday in London by 4pm it started getting dark. If drama was shot during spring or summer and it looked dark and dull then I would have understand your complain. But during winter in Finland the dark and melancholic feel of the show is rather normal and fitting. Europe during winter looks sad, very sad imo especially for working class. Now as I said before, the first 8 episodes = the beginning of a love relationship between two young people with one side being introverted, cold and sad like Europe during winter and the other is a sheltered 21 year old virgin girl that just entered adulthood. Therefore things are rather awkward and quiet between them. I take those earlier episodes as two strangers that are in the process of finding each other. Now you can decide 8/10 episodes are too long for you and you can drop it or you can take this 30-episodes drama as the normal evolution of the love story between two young people from totally different backgrounds (she is from a very rich family while he got modest origins) falling for each other in a foreign land.
