Firstable on his perf in SOTKP : "his acting is the best among the four main leads but among actors his age bracket he is not so good". Ok no detail at all about his facial expressions, bodylanguage, ignore lines delivery etc...nothing. Usually she gives details of what works and what doesn't on the actors. Here this is plain vague. Ok
Now moving on to The Double First on her review of the show she goes like : "dubbing represents 50% of the actor performance rating". Ok. Then girl proceeds to ignore boy dubs himself and goes like "his acting is not bad but he is in his comfort zone and does not wow me". Fair enough. But no detail at all on facial expressions ? Body posture ? His presence ? Do his micro-expressions work ? Zero nothing ?
Then people in the comment section go like "sis you are reaching, boy dubs himself at least on this point give him his flower since you believe he got dubbed by a voice actor and you are obsessed with actors' dubbing".
At last on her live when she mentionned WXY, she goes like " his character belongs to a military family and he is a Duke but he plays the role in a different way and not like a Duke. I don't know if this is because of his performance or the way it was written but his portrayal does not match the role of a Duke from a military family background and WXY plays it like Chen Khun powerful ennuch role in Dragon gate inn". Now when I was listening to her my first thought was like " has Wang Xing Yue done something terribly bad behind the scene in the industry and being aware of that she hates his guts to the moon and back ? 🤔 ". Cause at this point the amount of prejudice is way too strong now 🤣😅. Like sis try at least and trash his eye-acting with all of those close-ups provided to us so we can believe you when you say he is bad ! Or say something bad about his mouth movements or line delivery so we can say "ok cool we got her reasonning here". Because lady WXY is literally playing the role the way it isvwritten and given to him - and by all accounts the character "theatrical" behaviour in the novel is even worse !
Yeah the ending was kind of lame. YZ definitely meant to murder the ML.
Yeah. I still believe he wanted to kill him off because he did not trust WJY and WXY would work as an onscreen pair and chemistry btw the leads plus their dynamism would be the drama biggest selling point : let's remember WXY was picked last minute. Boy did a good job with the role and tried his best with what he was given. But on a different subject I don't like how people act as if it is the first role he played well. I think he was very solid as the cold, serious, unflexible, pure, modest and talented Zhang Zhe.

The actor is Ringo Yu if I am not wrong. Played in a lot of HK movies back in the days. I am so happy Wang Xing Yue gets to collab with veterans like them ! It is good that boy gets to play mostly mature roles. It enables him to share a lot of important scenes with those veterans actors where he plays their equal in statut and wisdom.
