I like this soundtrack a lot. It is the instrumental version of that song they played during that iconic rain scene in ep 17. That soundtrack and the one they played during that competition when the girl managed to win the archery test.

6.8 is sure not bad. I think overall whether on reviews or numbers The Double did much better than expected

Video of Wang Xing Yue explaining how he used to bullied at school. I feel that is one reason why he worked like crazy to get enrolled into the Beijin school acting so early. It enabled him to escape certain things and that experience pushed him to grow up fast.

He played a villain with inferiority complex in One and Only, a pure hearted fairylike talented but cold and rigid official in SOTKP, a sensual and sexy, confident, unapproachable and unhinged Duke in The Double, he plyed a goofy cute but bratty crown prince in Delicacies and Destiny (the role closest to his real self) etc... all of this while dubbing himself and changing his voice tone depending on the character. This boy got serious potentials.

The script is too vague so they had to make-do with that but they were also going like "when are they going to start dating ?" In the video. They said that but cause the sub goes to fast but they actually said that which makes me think they felt it was too slow burn.
Wang Xing Yue when he was picked for the role he was not popular yet so his value as an actor was much lower than it is today. Probably it was like "ok I pick you last minute for the role even though you are 12 years younger than the FL without expecting too much". When you read YZ comments before the drama aired you could see he didn't have much thoughts about the main leads dynamism to talk nicely.

Well when I watch a drama like "The Double", the treatment of its ML Xiao Heng at some point and the ending I cannot help but see YuZheng is really trolling his own work. Sorry 🤷‍♂️ I am reacting to what YuZheng served me.
But gotta applaud WJY and WXY teamwork and that video is one more reason why I don't listen to people that say Wu Jin Yan acting in that dama here is not good.

I believe it was Yu Zheng initial intent = kill off Xiao Heng character. Then someone probably told him that was too harsh and he shall keep it ambiguous and open. But yeah that war scene = XH dead

Guy had absolutely zero trust nor real care about it. After the drama aired he saw that his main leads had great chemistry and he could see that his drama ratings were at there peak when the main leads relationship and characters development were at their best level during the teen to early 20's episodes. Once they drifted focus towards SYR and Wanning abandoning the ML things
declined and drama lost viewers. Therefore YuZheng probably understood he was a liability to his own work and decided to make that extra episode. I still find it so stupid I could careless about that extra. For me the real ending he feels is true to his drama is the shitty one on episode 40.

I think YuZheng just didn't like the idea of Wang Xing Yue as MLin this drama because all of the decisions he made just don't make any sense. It is as if he himself wants his work to fail. Even Wang Xing Yue and Wu Jin Yan complained on how things dragged for their characters for no good reason at all and how script was so vague they had to improvise a lot and make things work as shown on the vid in the link below. It shows a great lack of care and estimation

YuZheng is a liability. The novel is a happy ending but he just wanted to make a bad ending ? Now I believe he really hated Wang Xing Yue as Duke Su- why bother casting him then ?

On this vid here (see link below) Wang Xing Yue and Wu Jin Yan lowkeye complain about the extreme slow-burn romance of the drama that dragged to no end and how they had to improvise a lot since the script was too vague concerning them. It feels like the main leads relationship growth and the ML character were abandonned by the PD to highlight the villains as if YuZheng wanted SYR and Wanning actors to shine. YuZheng really had 0 trust in his main leads especially Wang Xing Yue.
