I remember my very first kiss and it was dynamite! It was with a classmate at uni who is a very dear friend to date and it was one of those moments that stand the test of time - he was courteous, very gentlemanly, it was raining outside, we were in a bus on a tour from uni, romantic songs in the background (I still remember which one), there was a breeze blowing through the windows and he asked me permission which I obviously gave. He swooped in and I remember how he kind of just sucked on my lower lip and then the upper and it just naturally went with the flow. It was a beautiful experience and for me, I had been dreaming and fantasising about being kissed until then so I was super prepared. For him, it was his first kiss too but he was just naturally good. I think some people just have the knack for it ☺️ I often think back to why it was so good and memorable and have come to the conclusion that it’s cos there was a lot of trust between us. We were never in a relationship before or after that kiss but we had so much chemistry between us that we never acted on otherwise. He was always (and still is) a dear friend I was most comfortable with. I have also had kisses that were messy and filled with raw passion but I do not remember any of it like I do my first. So when I see Li Wu and Cen Jin kiss so well, I get it.

I know right? It was such an unexpected find!!!! I started it on a whim cos I thought the male lead looked a lot like Tian Xu Ning and was curious but was so pleasantly surprised when I found myself bingeing through all the released 15 episodes in one go 😂 They have such amazing chemistry and Daniel is so good especially in the flashbacks as the insecure young man who’s scared of losing all the good fortune he’s suddenly come into!

The whole Susha arc was on ffwd for me :( Although I did enjoy Xiyang’s cunning - goes to show she can do anything to survive. And how her brothers’ love was the only saving grace from making her slip into utter wickedness. The last episode could have taken up more time. I hated how rushed it all was.
Absolutely! She sings traditional Chinese folk songs and Tibetan, Mongol, Sanskrit etc and the songs are so haunting! A whole other experience. I think I first heard her in Long Ballad or Blue Whisper and was obsessed with her voice for a while

I honestly don't think he'd make a good Emperor with the way he is now. Politics can never be straightfoward and is all about playing games and balancing so many interests. It's never black or white and honestly, he is currently enjoying the privilege that comes with NOT being the CP or the future Emperor. He's great at leading an army and gaining the loyalty of the soldiers he commands. But at court? Imagine him juggling all those factions and political families and making decisions that are in favor of one faction over another etc. There'd be so much rebellion and acts of treason lol. People would either be out to gain his favor or kill him off! I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up like his father eventually.

For Xiyang, because of her circumstances, she believes that love is something to be “earned”. Hence her complete conviction that she can change XJS and make him love her. I don’t think she actually even loves him - she’s fascinated and even obsessed with him because she sees him as her saviour. I am guessing that she was the quintessential “good girl” growing up cos she was scared of losing whatever affection was being given to her by her absent father and stepmother so ofcourse she will do the same with XJS. I pity her and feel for her and genuinely hope she wakes up and realises that her actions have consequences. Suige knew what would happen to her - he saw it coming. I just hope he’s strong enough to handle seeing her broken and scarred.
