I am thinking of those Tom n Jerry cartoons and cannot stop laughing!! Where Tom gets shot and drinks water and turns into a hole-y watering can…Man! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
You know, I think it’s precisely cos we know this type of behavior will not be condoned in real life (whether we are aware enough to recognize it as problematic or not notwithstanding) that we’re enjoying it as a “guilty pleasure”. It’s a safe way to indulge our fantasies (let’s be honest - those of us who’re enjoying this, who hasn’t imagined being at the receiving end of all that intense, possessive, sexy attention?!)and there’s zero need to bring in any guilt or shame which can take away from the experience. 😃😃 Have fun with it and enjoy your dreams, stay safe and aware in real life … and remember it’s the character we’re seeing and not the actor 😀 😌😏
I know right!!! I am so glad I come back to read and re-read the comments..always so enlightening!!! I keep getting new perspectives and I will enjoy IS even more now on rewatch :)
I think it's because they showed us where YY was coming from right at the beginning and who YD exactly is that I didn't feel the angst to be too angsty :) And they were always working together as a unit putting aside their personal differences whenever that was required. That is quite rare to see..
Like the comment above said, maybe there was no indication that it would be anything other than a HEA and even the angst wasn’t as angsty tbh because it was all quite sensible and justified. So yes, what you said would most definitely have been the case. Viewers were completely blindsided by the ending and were severely disappointed by the specials which they thought would be a continuation of the storyline. That makes a lot of sense.
Yes exactly! Which is why I gave myself some time before actually delving into those episodes unlike before where I would pounce on episodes the min they released! I wasn’t ready to let go of how I felt after finishing ep 59 and to me, that was closure enough. Which is also why I actually wrote down how I was imagining them in my own way after 59 😊 Otherwise, it would have abruptly pulled me out of the emotions I was going through which were pretty strong at the time
You just got me all nostalgic, lol. But you’re so right, this is exactly like these overwrought M&Bs I loved…
They’d be so politically incorrect in today’s world with their deviant heroes and hapless heroines that need to rely on the err…strong chests of said deviant heroes lol 😆
I'm afraid my cultural background is interfering with my enjoyment of this series. I watch this such high anxiety…
If this realisation has come about while watching this show, I'd say it has done its job well :) You are allowed to feel conflicted and to take your time to expand your preconceived notions of what is appropriate vs what is not and, figure out what is acceptable to you {hugs}
Am I the only one that think actor acting is not robotic at all ? Like you would expect bad acting but in the…
His body language too! The way he sits with an arm across the back of the chair and that cross legged, confident pose. Makes you actually believe he's in a position of some power.
This reminds me so much of the old Mills & Boon novels I used to DEVOUR by torch light whilst hidden under my blanket after lights out at home :))) I love that the main actors are doing such a good job portraying these characters.
Okay I clearly need my apartment to be furnished with food 😂🤣
