I can imagine them all sitting around the plotting table in the war room and XY in his sexy voice going, "I will run from the east and you chase me from the north. Count till 25 before pretending to attack me. Anyone who deviates from this plan will be killed and their souls absorbed"
RQ had no clue what hit her! But the fact that she immediately went looking for him when her jade artifact was missing....did she have her doubts and chose to ignore all the red flags? Hmm
The thing is people burnt out.If some people watch IS as their first xianxia drama, they will blown away with…
IS is not my first Xianxia :) Been watching them for a while now and I thoroughly enjoy the aspects that intrigue me rather than focus on the 'usual tropes' and 'bad cgi' and 'typical characters' etc. I have also realized that as I grow older and understand myself better, my understanding of the characters and where they are coming from (and that has a lot to do with the actors portraying them and how the story is told) matter to me more than anything else in a drama as there's always so much to learn from - especially in Xianxias that have so much going on in them as it is. So having said that, once I start a drama that are more heavy-themed, I stop watching them if I can't seem to connect to the characters, and sometimes pick them up later when I feel I might be ready to (and the cycle continues). Of course, there are some I watch for the sheer enjoyment of the eye-candy or the cheesiness as we need a break from real life too once in a while lol. I am blatantly in love with IS - and that also means I can see the flaws in the execution of its story on screen from a purely technical point of view (unnecessary scenes, characters that could have been done away with earlier, not enough information about characters I want to know more about like Luming, etc etc). But that doesn't mean that I enjoy it any less.
I can see how protective you are about IS and I love your passion! I remember feeling this way about dramas/books/ etc once upon a time. But you've also got to remember that this is a very personal feeling :) And I think the beauty in it is savoring it for yourself rather than trying to prove everyone else wrong. I believe that's where your true power lies AND it doesn't take away from your enjoyment of the drama. If YOU think it's amazing, how does it matter if no one else does? I for one am so glad there are so many people on here who seem to love it as much as I do and, just scroll by all the comments that say otherwise thinking, "To each their own." :)
Imagine yourself to be YY - embody his calm and composure :)
Random thought: is it possible that Huan Qin was in love with Ran Qing but she fell for Xuan Ye instead?
*mind blown*! When HQ(as the heavenly emperor) says " That love and that face hasn't appeared again" as he caresses TZQ's face, this takes on a whole new meaning now! And somebody did mention that he was doing all this and prolly needed the time-reversing artifact to bring someone back to life!
But is he old enough to be alive when RQ and XY were together? I always assumed he was close to YY's age?
Just gotta repeat it, episode 51 was an amazing courtroom drama, it was epic and extremely intense
The way they divided what they had to say between YY and YD was nice. Very balanced - YY hearing what YD was saying with so much focus and emotions on his face and YD supporting what YY was saying gave off such partnership feels.
I have to say - the actor playing Heavenly Emperor was so good here! The passive-aggressiveness and subtle gaslighting was so well done with his gestures and sighs and expressions! Made my skin crawl as I know people like this in real life. YY is a great example of how to deal with such people - deny nothing and instead throw back facts backed by solid evidence. No arguing, no pleading, no reactions whatsoever. And I applaud him for keeping YD in check and staying so cool and level headed. Reminded me some of that psychologist that went viral during the depp-heard trial :)
YY kept reassuring YD was so sweet even though they were getting punished 🥺 I really love how responsible and…
And the looks YD kept giving him every time YY says something that makes her see how righteous and responsible he is! So much pride and a sense of "That's my man!" I got goosebumps throughout the whole interrogation scene with how well CY and YZ acted to bring YY and YD to life.
Man the waterworks! :(( I cried so hard at Zhixi's death.
YY being happy at proof of YD's love was such a beautiful scene. "The agarwood hasn't become ashes, right? "Aaaaagh!!!!!
And his holding of YD in check because he understands how her loyalty and need to defend him and her loved ones will always take precedence over her sense of self-preservation. And her subtle reassurances that he isn't alone in this ordeal. One of my love languages is 'physical touch' and it completely warmed my heart to see IS does it right. Their body language - always turning towards each other and facing everyone else. And of course their couple-outfits at this pivotal scene!!!!! What an amazing couple! The power of love truly shines through now that they each know what they mean to the other.
TZQ is so..complicated. I can't get a read on her as I can't figure out where her loyalties lie or what she's thinking exactly. Such a wild card. She seems to have had an evil streak from the beginning but is she in love with HQ or is it loyalty or what I am not sure. And her relationship with XX - was she just using him?
YD is so bloody smart when she's being objective and detecting. The way the trio brain-storm stuff has always been one of my most favorite things about IS and I am so glad to see it carrying on :))
Btw - what happened to Yumo? I feel like I missed something but can't figure out what that might be. :(
Don't know if anyone seen this BTS before but I just thought it was so cute I had to post it.Crazy TZ https://youtu.be/vBV-RRYTvKI
TZ has officially lost it. 😂 This is how kids who were raised in super strict households behave when they go off to college and experience the real world lol! YY’s “study abroad in mortal realm” (credits to a YT comment)
Actually, that's not the real emperor. The heavenly Emperor is his uncle and knew EXACTLY who his parents are.…
I don’t think it’s the face per se but more like they use enchantments to disguise themselves/alter their appearance albeit even slightly and their auras are different. I am sure XY would have done that to meet RQ in order to appear more enticing to her 🙂 Heavenly Emperor is probably the only one who knew YY’s true parentage cos of how he’s related to RQ.
RQ had no clue what hit her! But the fact that she immediately went looking for him when her jade artifact was missing....did she have her doubts and chose to ignore all the red flags? Hmm
Poor YY though..how does one recover from knowing they have such parentage :(
There! I found it for you!!!!!
